  1. I love how this fixes the issues with the collar and yoke from the originals. I know it's the lighting and the colors were more saturated in person, but I really like how the colors look in this photo. The shade of blue isn't quite royal or navy. It's a nice in between; same with the orange. Kinda wish it was their actual color scheme.
  2. It both amazes me and doesn't at the same time on how much of complete mess this rebrand ended up. The name is just meh and its the least of the problems overall. There is no consistency between anything anywhere. All they had to do was slapped the new logo and wordmarks on their old jerseys and call it a night. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who liked their 2002 throwbacks. Would have been nice to use those as the basis for the new jerseys. I saw a photoshop fix up of the road jerseys on Twitter that added back in the gold to the sleeve stripes and removed the pattern on the numbers. At least it matches up better with the home jerseys.
  3. Montreal's was just a blue palette swap of their current red jersey so there is precedent of the teams doing simple color swaps of their current looks. I mean the whole year designations were all arbitrary and didn't even match in most cases anyways (Like Detroit's was 1998 when their jerseys haven't changed since the mid '80s or similarly the Flyers being from 1995.) so who cares.
  4. Eurostile Black is a close match.
  5. Their home jersey from that period is fantastic. Underappreciated. Just slapped the current skating penguin on the front and you'll have a nice reverse retro jersey. Would have been a better choice than the wordmark jersey.
  6. It's the lighting. I agree that the 1998 redesign is the best the Islanders ever looked. The darker color palette work wonders for them. Solid look all around. Maybe use the above jersey as a third if they needed one.
  7. The fisherman Islanders jerseys are the classic case of working better as being apart of the third jersey program. They probably would have been a nice curious footnote in history and fit in somewhere between the Wild Wing jersey and the Penguins third. The jersey and logos were not the problem but the fact that they replaced their long-standing set. I'm probably on a island all by myself on this one, but the storm Lightning jersey is the best jersey they ever had. One of my favorites from back in the day. Wouldn't want it as a full time home and road set though, but it was nice as a every-once-in-while way.
  8. Was playing a bit of NHL '98 the other day on my Sega Saturn and was reminded that it uses a generic Helvetica font for all the team's jersey numbers. The PlayStation and PC versions uses more accurate numbers.
  9. I just noticed the asymmetric numbers.
  10. All the Predators had to do was just stick their primary logo on the front and they would have a perfectly fine jersey. Their logo pops extremely well on a navy jersey. They keep fumbling their overall branding over the past decade. Their rebrand from 2011 even with the Reebok template piping was probably the best they ever look and they keep plucking away at it. They just needed a navy third jersey companion. The Lightning jersey doesn't look that bad. I'll prefer their primary logo on the front, but the "Bolts" mark is serviceable. Nice to see them use silver.
  11. Their original style guide from '96 has a version of the word mark without the empty space. They can use that or just leave it textless.
  12. "Always looked better"? I'll disagree with that. A team's best look is subjective anyways. It all comes down to a matter of opinion. Personally, I prefer navy over royal in most cases, but I'm not going to say it's the better option. Both teams look fine ether way (except the Oilers should be a blue dominant team over the orange).
  13. The Kachina design was and still is one of my favorites, especially the white jersey. Glad to see them fully back in action. I also think it's one of the rare times that the Adidas collar works. The pattern looks better and cleaner within the narrow strip.
  14. That 2013 jersey is miles ahead of their current look. Even the logo looks better with the older color scheme.
  15. Fortunately, the link was archived on the Wayback Machine. https://web.archive.org/web/20051104093753/http://www.seahawks.com/wallScreen/hawk_schedule_05_1024.jpg
  16. I had to google the jersey because the image wasn't loading for me but the numbers are Clarendon Bold. The wordmark is a different font altogether.
  17. This is partially correct. They did update the palettes and logos for the Buccaneers and the Broncos, however, the game also uses the same palettes and logos for the classic teams. So the '79 Buccaneers for example wear red jerseys instead of the creamsicles. (At least for the Genesis version.)
  18. Ad Lib is a close match match to it.
  19. A sports related one between the Avalanche and the Blue Jackets. Granted they both use different elements, but considering both teams are alphabetically next to each other I can't help notice the similar structure between the two.
  20. That's a very good idea.Agreed. Although, what's to stop them from creating a account just so they have access to concepts? Set it up so you need to reach a certain number of posts to unlocked access to the Concepts forum.
  21. Personally, I think the 1997-2007 Vancouver Canucks uniform/logo set are the best they ever worn - especially the white jersey.
