  1. Best Sabres sweaters: Slug and all. It's grown on me... but only on the CCM template. The Edge template makes every team look like garbage.
  2. The stink was raised because, after years of the SEC and their fans obsessing over conference championships, Alabama played for the national title without even getting to play for their conference championship - while the Big 12 champion Oklahoma State (with a BETTER resume) was left out in the cold. What's the point of having conferences if you can still be deemed NCG-worthy without even contending for your conference championship? Not to mention, Alabama already lost in Tuscaloosa to LSU in the regular season. Apparently the "regular season is a playoff" argument applies to all conferences except the SEC? Absolute hypocrisy at its finest... but sadly, not a surprise with the BC$ system.
  3. The rules to the playoff should be simple: 1. Every conference champion gets an automatic playoff bid... and I mean EVERY conference, from the SEC to the Sun Belt. Like Geoff said, the games aren't played on paper. Who are we to just assume a LaTech or Arkansas State can't pull an upset? 2. Several at-larges from the top 25 (I assume the number would grow over the years).
  4. Well, the Lakers scheme made sense because, at the time, the Kings and Lakers were owned by the same guy (Jack Kent Cooke, who also owned the Redskins), and they shared the Forum.
  5. These guys are just glad they aren't wearing those ugly wannabe-Raiders sweaters:
  6. I'm not a huge college basketball fan, but I casually follow the sport. My two favorite teams of all time were the 1990 UNLV Runnin' Rebels and the Michigan Fab Five. I liked Steve Fisher and thought he got royally screwed over in Michigan. When he went to SDSU, I started semi-following their program, and I'm happy to see them have success. That being said, their current uniforms are boring, ugly SOD templated garbage. I really wish they'd bring back the uniforms they wore in the 2002 tournament. Iconic, and unique.
  7. Which I don't get, because the Rose Bowl would at least finally mean something outside of pumped-up tradition.
  8. To be honest, I associate Grant Hill with Duke more than any pro team.
  9. Yeah, an outline is definitely needed... but no ugly vintage white is a plus.
  10. Come on, you have to vote for anyone who can pull off the vaunted FNOB. Another fun fact... every Congressman wears the uniform of their home team, supplied by the teams. The teams are GOP vs. DNC.
  11. No... the Lightning, Capitals, Senators, Penguins all come to mind as worse uniform sets. The Blackhawks' alternate sweaters have been pretty bad lately though. I miss these:
  12. This was the better Astros road jersey... But otherwise, I agree.
  13. GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul in a Rainbow Guts Astros uniform: (Fun fact: in the long history of the Congressional baseball game, Paul is the only Congressman to ever hit a home run over the fence. This game is played at a major league park, back then, Memorial Stadium.)
  14. Brian Cook in any NBA uniform. It's hard to believe that Daryl Morey of all people wasted trade assets on Brian Cook.
  15. I'd still be interested in this.
  16. These are the best Canada hockey sweaters:
  17. The Giants should have never changed from this road jersey:
  18. I liked the current Broncos uniforms when they came out, but I'm sick of them now, especially since a ton of college football teams started wearing that same template. Hopefully the tweaks that Nike is allegedly going to make will freshen up the look.
  19. FWIW, I got it immediately... and for the record, even I don't like those hideous Sabres uniforms. The only Sabres set that remotely appeals to me is the Buffaslug set, but that logo is so bad. If they updated the classic Sabres logo (and by that I mean something more sophisticated than just slapping silver outlines on everything), those would have been fantastic modern sweaters.
  20. The idea is that you raise your arms in victory after a win or goal and show off your glorious armpits of triumph. One of the dumbest uniform idiosyncrasies around. Yes, it's a silly idea, but it's their silly idea, and has WAY more tradition for the Lightning than their new ripoff of other teams' traditional looks. As for the Hawks... I'm in the middle. Like the uniform design, hate the cliche, derivative color scheme. Recolor those uniforms in red/yellow/black and they're perfect.
  21. Exactly. It's not BFBS because black was always a primary team color until this uniform set/identity.
  22. If they were an Original Six team, they'd be okay (but still unspectacular). What drags the uniform down for people, including myself, is that a non-traditional franchise in Tampa Bay is playing Original Six Dress-up and borrowing heavily from the Maple Leafs and Red Wings to do so. Not to mention, in their rush to force in elements of a tradition they don't have, they eliminated the one defining aesthetic tradition they did have - the victory stripes.
  23. Agreed. I can see why people believe they shouldn't be messed with, but I personally think it looks dated and boring. I also agree. The navy jerseys are way too dark and dreary-looking. I think the Bears should make their orange jersey the primary home look.
  24. Those uniforms were okay. These were better:
