  1. While it's still BFBS, the previous black set was superior IMO. The cream pops and the deer head with the numbers in the antlers works better than most logo jerseys. Should've just worn their home whites but whatever.
  2. If you mean the primary home whites, then I suppose, but nobody is accusing that set of making sense. For the record, I don't think the Cowboys NEED a double outline to match, just arguing that it's an acceptable usage.
  3. I understand not loving the white pants on the CR, but I think most would advocate for matching silver pants anyway. I think the shoulder stars are fun, as opposed to a striping pattern that adds nothing to a larger, less-than-cohesive mess (although I don't even hate the quirk of the greenish pants). And while I normally don't love double outlines, it makes perfect sense for the Cowboys given their logo uses multiple outlines in order to say "Cowboys" instead of "generic star emblem." It's a little cheesy, just like the Dallas Cowboys. So I guess I don't see what's so fascinating, the home whites are easy to pick apart and the alternatives are arguably better.
  4. Yeah, we are obnoxious enough to have started it, but most fans don't emphasize "the" much these days unless it's a rival making fun. Saying "New York Football Giants" is silly, but that makes it fun to me. It's like their the Giants of football itself!
  5. Doesn't bother me. I feel like the Nets have the most leeway when it comes to their special jerseys, as the splash of color gives it some life their primary set lacks. Their look is basically a blank slate and the franchise hasn't had such an iconic moment since they were in another state.
  6. I definitely forget that the buffalo represents the city if I'm not thinking about it. Teams with letters on their helmet: Green Bay Chicago NYG San Francisco Kansas City NYJ (no city currently) Las Vegas (no city) Pittsburgh (no city) Baltimore Tennessee Most of these are classic teams, so clearly the modern aesthetic is to emphasize the mascot. The only exceptions are franchises that moved to a new city in the modern era, and in both cases the letters are just a part of a larger logo representing the team name. For the Jets, it's tough IMO, because having the team name on the helmet is the only constant, but it's boring and the fact that they are in New York matters more than the team name ever has. If they updated to a modernized streaking jet logo, it would've given purpose to the uniform updates.
  7. Chase was given a black jersey, so I assume that remains the primary? Hadn't seen anything confirmed but there was discussion of switching to orange here.
  8. Agreed. I'd add OKC as well, though their color scheme seems to give or take a color with every alt. There's bad juju or whatever, but if the Knicks tossed every jersey they sucked in they'd have nothing to wear (I know I know, they're actually good this year). This is so beautiful and shelving it is a crime:
  9. I do find it generally lazy, given that college uniforms in other sports tend to establish their own aesthetic. Football especially, where there are so many classic looks, new trends, and the Iowa Hawkeyes are an interesting exception. All that said, this Wildcats jersey is sweet. Purple and white is gorgeous, and a purple rainbow is better than the over-use of black to me.
  10. I love the feathered C, and I think this jersey could've worked much better with a fancy looking "Cavs" instead of an incomplete looking "Cle." Still, probably their best city jersey so far. It depends, as winning a title puts the Cavs ahead for a lot of people. The Tribe has been competitive under Tito, but the franchise follows the same sad cycle of building a team through development, contending within a small window, and then selling off the parts to start again. Their attendance is abysmal, but their local TV ratings are much better comparatively in the MLB. The Cavs, meanwhile, still have a ways to go before proving their relevance without LeBron, but everyone remembers and cherishes 2016. It's pretty close I'd say. Browns of course are #1, as football remains the popularity king. The fact that they maintained this placing despite going 0-16 is pretty remarkable, and now they're the best team in town.
  11. A lot of these are hilarious, thanks to all for sharing. Baffling that so many teams decided to borrow from the Padres aesthetic.
  12. The one good thing about Gilbert is that, unlike some historical owners in Cleveland, he was willing to spend out his ass for a championship. And he did! Everything else is as you say though, so not the best... Cavs rebuild has gone fairly well though. This season adding Allen was great and various injuries have kept us from building on the early season momentum we had. I'd like to think we could contend in a couple years with our core of young talent, but who knows. In a way we haven't actually had any "post-LeBron" designs (tho, at the time, 2010 was very much that). He came back and wore the 2010 set, and he was around when we switched to the current set. Maybe he'll do a quick retirement contract with us and get to wear next stupid jersey too!
  13. I guess I've always been of the opposite mind. The home whites were the best in the set IMO and the other jerseys, mainly the road wine, could use some white to make it pop more. Still think the 03 font was the best they ever did. It's a shame they never tried to use it after going to the throwback colors, because I think it works. Can't find it now, but I thought for sure Kyrie has goggle straps in 2016 that were wine with a gold "Cavaliers" in the 03 script... Love the classic "CAVS" logo too, but- 1) "Cavs" shouldn't be on a primary uniform. 2) The other attempts, like the old gold alt, do not work nearly as well as the old school mark.
  14. Glad they are dropping navy, which they should've done in 2010 when they went back to classic wine and athletic gold. Wish they'd drop black too, but then how else will you be able to create 5 new jerseys every year without unnecessary colors? (Unless they considered having a gold jersey again... no? Just me?) The 2010 rebrand felt a little generic compared to 2003, but at least there was some "traditional" merit. The latest rebrand was an insult, with a new pointless font, a primary jersey that just said "CAVS," the overuse of both navy and black, further degraded logos, and uniform elements that felt like they were picked at random out of the Nike box. Maybe they'll do well in the next change but Gilbert has just made the team look worse and worse over the years. There have been some CavFanatic/City jerseys that were fun, but in most cases they'd be better as fashion jerseys anyway.
  15. I'm sorry that this is so unpopular around here but I think the Hartford Whalers had a pretty cool logo.
  16. This does happen in college and it's great, I agree it should be applied more cause the helmet is part of the look.
  17. The D is the one thing that's missing from that pornograpic logo.
  18. No idea why they didn't go for a horizontal logo that, I don't know, looks like a horse(?) instead of turning the Bronco into a furry thirst trap.
  19. They do use aqua and I agree the Eagles are closer, though depending on the lighting and application it's not that far off. The background "aqua" here looks nearly as teal at the Jaguar tongue, and the Jags uniforms often look brighter than most teals.
  20. Would love to see a return to a block font, I think it fits the team well, along with the old script Browns. If the helmet logo went back to 2D, I think that'd be an improvement too. Feels like a little too much space in the middle, but overall a solid homage to team history.
  21. I think they should ditch the black (or keep it as an accent only) and streamline to a midnight green and silver look. I wouldn't mind a swap to a kelly identity but I agree that midnight green looks great. And yes, the number font is outdated trash. Also, not a fan of their logo. It lacking in the primary color and an angry eagle head just feels so paint by numbers. An updated flying eagle would be better, to me.
  22. People gotta learn what "objectively" means, it's thrown around a lot on a site about design. I think they'd look better just simplifying what they have (get rid of the side panels & yoke), but I'd accept this. My first instinct was to point out that their division rival Browns already use a lot of orange, but then I remembered the colors of the Steelers and Ravens.
  23. The head is good enough, and a big improvement from the B (which would be a C if I had any say in the matter).
