Stripeless Primeknit pants are available as a stock item in maroon. If A&M wanted to wear maroon pants, you’d have seen it.

Whats a little odd is when they released the new uniform look, there never was any pictures of the road look and the graphic said there was a maroon pant option for the road, but there has never been any photos of them.

The Orange Bowl field looks pretty good. Feels like an actual Bowl game.

T A&M, you don't have maroon/non-white pants??? Or colored socks??

Either Adidas wasnt able to produce maroon pants in time before the start of the season or we just straight up shelved them as every game we wore white pants this year. I dont believe Jimbo is a fan of alternate uniforms and looks so we just stuck with our 2 combos all year. I wish we would have had maroon pants to bust out as M/W/M is my preferred road look.

I was kind of hoping that COVID-19 would be the end of some of these pointless bowl games. Silly me, I forgot to realize that companies will throw millions of dollars at their feet.

ESPN owns many of these bowls. They need programing to fill and commercials to sell. Any money made from people in attendance is just bonus.

The Iron Bowl will have a new logo this year

Yea, it's not great. Very bland, especially when compared to previous design. None are great by any means, but better than this one? Yes, I think so.

This may wind up being a one-off version of the logo as BBVA's US banks were acquired by PNC Bank with the deal expected to be complete mid 2021. So I would expect to see a redone logo with the presenting sponsor being PNC or a sponsorless logo returning.

Feel like the horn design would work better on the helmet.  Can't recall cause they've had so many, have they done a Vikings-esque horns helmet look?

I thought they would have by now, but I cant find any example of them doing it.

    Texas introduced 1970 championship throwbacks:

It essentially looks like a modern update to the current unis. As much as I love the "Texas" on the front of the regular jerseys (it's just classic)...the unis really don't need it thanks to a strong brand.

A good overall look — except, as you mentioned, for the loss of the box for CBS Sports. The look is clean and modern, while still being strong and respectable.

One place where these new logos will not be seen (or will not be seen for long) is the CBS All Access streaming service. I was very saddened to read that CBS All Access will be changing its name to Paramount+. For a streaming service to abandon one of the greatest names in television for a name more closely associated with movies seems like a bad move.

Anyway, this is definitely an upgrade.

But what's this about a jingle?

I think changing the name to Paramount+ is a great move. CBS All Access reads to me that it is just a place to go stream old and current CBS shows, which isnt even completely true since their most sucessful show of the last decade in Big Bang Theory is actually distributed by Warner Bros so its on HBOMax (which that has an entirely different branding mess). Now that CBS and Viacom are one company again, it makes sense to have your premium streaming service be named after a highly recognizable brand that showcases it provides more than just tv shows. CBS All Access might have more than tv shows for all i know, but since I dont watch any current CBS programing outside of sports I never had any desire to even look into if that service offered something I like.

This has probably been covered already, but it’s really weird seeing ACC stuff on Notre Dame’s field and uniforms. I know they have their scheduling agreement, but I assume this is the first time they’ve done this since they’re playing a full ACC slate this season with everything being wonky, right?

Correct. Assuming a full normal season is played next year, the patch and field markings will be gone next year as Notre Dame will no longer be playing for an ACC championship in football. Of course pigs could finally start flying and Notre Dame could decide to jump in and become a full ACC member

Much cleaner look for my alma mater

I'm so glad to see Sam Houston clean up their look for not just football, but across the entire athletic department. The football team went heavy on using blue as an accent color on whatever template Nike and then Under Armour had on any given year. Meanwhile all the other sports used black as a primary accent color. I have always associated SHSU as a bright orange and white school so it is good to see the extra colors get removed from the mix. I would be ok without the grey outline on the numbers, but it does help the conference patch match some element of the uniform

Looks like BYU is halfassing a Gifford Neilsen throwback when they play at Houston this week (Go Cougars!). All they did was switch the normal facemasks to grey--no old school helmet logo, no TV numbers on the sleeve (though I'm not sure where numbers would fit). Maybe what they actually wear in the game will be different, but I'm not holding my breath. This is basically like the Manning era Colts wearing black shoes and saying the Unitas look was back.

Nielsen was the sports director of the Houston CBS affiliate for 25 years after playing as a QB for the Oilers and I believe still lives in town so its nice to see a tribute to someone who has ties to both communities.
