It won't. Like they were in the 1980s. With 21 teams. Difficult, yes, but not impossible to format. Actually, one division will have one team fewer compared to the other 3, but it doesn't matter because nobody in the Lester Patrick division complained in the 1980s (which everyone forgets). Don't get me wrong, only expanding to Vegas is stupid, just not for these reasons.

Evansville proceeds to replace them with an SPHL team, giving Peoria a "travel partner" that is only 2 hours closer than the next closest team in the league. Everything is stupid.

Pure dumbassery. They should have been trying to get an ECHL team for at least the last year. That I agree with. The ECHL wants to have 30 teams so that every NHL team has an AHL affiliate and a ECHL affiliate. Peoria would perfect for the league. The Blues don't have an affiliate, but I'm not exactly sure the Peoria Civic Center wants to do business with the Blues right now (assuming the current Blues regime even gave a about player development, which LOL the Wolves are your AHL team). That said, making a play for the Blackhawks in order to tap into the Bradley students seems to be a reasonable strategy.
