Or copy the old college football jerseys and put a smaller Champion logo on the left sleeve. I think heavy mesh on the shoulders/yoke would be more appropriate too.

Was there any difference between old football and lacrosse jerseys back in the day? I'm sure football jerseys were probably more durable, but from a design standpoint I always thought there was no difference between football jerseys (with loose sleeve cuffs) and lacrosse jerseys.

Honestly it looks like the PLL teams are wearing the same Champion jerseys my teams used to wear in football practice.

It was a good idea in theory but I don't really get the "worn" look to them.

It might have helped if the jersey numbers and Champion logo didn't stand out so much. It's like they went retro with every other part of the jerseys but went modern there.

If they were to go that route they should have gone all in and made the numbers/name on back match the look of the team names on the front and sleeve stripes.

Seeing how these are supposed to be throwback inspired, they should not have included the big Champion logo on the chest. The retro style Champion patch near the bottom hem is all they needed.

  3. So, I'm pretty much just going to update my previous entry to this thread.

    Homer alert. Deal with it!

    • NFL: Washington Commanders
    • NBA: Washington Wizards
    • MLB: Washington Nationals
    • NHL: Washington Capitals
    • MLS: D.C. United
    • Overseas Soccer: Western Sydney Wonderers (A-League). Copa90 videos about this club won me over.  As well as 1 FC Union Berlin in Bundesliga.
    • P5 NCAA Football: University of Maryland and members of the pre-conference realignment ACC and Big East. Except for Miami and West Virginia.
    • Mid Major NCAA Football: Marshall, Temple & Cincinnati
    • NCAA FCS Football: All current members of the MEAC, Towson, Georgetown, Penn Hampton and North Carolina A&T. I generally want teams from the SWAC to do well but won't call them favorites.
    • NCAA D1 Basketball: Maryland, Georgetown, George Washington, George Mason, Hampton, North Carolina A&T and the entire MEAC. Again, I generally want teams from the SWAC to do well but won't call them favorites.
    • NCAA Division 2 Sports: All members of the CIAA, Shepherd University, University of the District of Columbia, Frostburg State University & which ever member of the SIAC makes it to the D2 football & basketball tournaments. As well as any team that beats IUP in football. IUP's fans on a D2 message board I frequent are the worst.
    • NCAA Division 3 Sports: Salisbury University, Catholic University, Gallaudet University and Johns Hopkins University
    • Junior College: Prince George's Community College
    • Minor League Baseball: Bowie Baysox, Southern Maryland Blue Crabs & the Nationals' entire farm system
    • WNBA: Washington Mystics
    • Major League Lacrosse (now defunct): Chesapeake Bayhawks
    • Premier Lacrosse League: Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club (in the PLL's first season their roster was predominantly Maryland alums)
    • NBA G League: Capital City Go-Go
    • The Basketball Tournament: Florida TNT & HBCUnited
    • International Sporting Events: United States, Nigerian and Jamaican national teams. I generally root for Pan-African & Canadian teams to do well. For some reason I'd like to see England/Great Britain/United Kingdom become better in basketball.
    1. Carolina should just go ahead and request to make their blue jerseys the primaries for next season if they want to avoid wearing dark colors as much as possible. Especially seeing how they have the black alternate helmets now. Be the fourth (technically fifth) blue and silver team in the league and just wear the "black out" alternates twice (or thrice) a season.
    2. It bugs the heck out of me that the Commanders and Rams have white numbers on their team color practice jerseys, but wear gold/yellow numbers on their game jerseys

  4. Question. Are NFL teams required to wear alternate uniforms? In my mind it's optional, if your team has them. Seriously, would the Rams have gotten in trouble had they chose not to wear the bone uniforms at all this season?

Out of all the games the Giants want to wear a throwback in, why did they pick the Commanders? Did the Giants forget that Washington changed it's name and uniforms? The Commanders are going to ruin the vibe.

It was a given that at least one of the 2 throwback games would be against an NFC East division rival. On paper Washington is the NFC East opponent they are most likely to beat. Winning in the throwbacks is far more important than how the other team's uniforms effects the vibe.

I never understood the wire mesh goggles that women Lacrosse players wear.  Why no helmets?

Men's and women's lacrosse are different variations of the same sport. The men's game allows way more physicality, making helmets a necessity.

  7. It appears the University of Maryland Eastern Shore has a new logo. First noticed it a little while ago in an announcement about several MEAC members' baseball and golf programs becoming associate members of the NEC. From what I can tell there was no formal announcement. They just began using this new hawk logo on the athletic program's official Facebook page last week. I don't think there's any custom word marks to go with it.

Edit: this may also be the school's official academic logo/crest/symbol/etc too, because it's in the top left corner of the school's website as a home page link.

I’m still of the opinion that they shouldn’t go to a city model, but that’s a long post for another day and I still need to organize my argument lmao.

I think they ultimately will (and should) but shouldn't rush it given what the PLL is trying to achieve for the sport as a whole.  The PLL needs to do several more rounds of touring outside the traditional lacrosse hotspots before starting to anchor it's teams to specific cities. Don't want to end up with another northeast heavy league like MLL was.
