  1. Hey everyone! Thanks for the feedback. Updating this with a slightly different template including sleeves and gloves to get an idea of what accessories would be worn with each uniform. I'm also going to just be doing two uniforms for each team, home and road only. I'm doing this to force myself to declare the best combinations for each team. I may come back and do alternates later, but, for now, I'm keeping it simple to give my creativity some constraints. Here's Seattle in the new look: The players would wear navy sleeves at home and either navy or white on the road with action green gloves. Baltimore Ravens The Ravens have a good but muddled look right now. Balancing black and purple together is tough since the two can blend from a distance. I fixed the problem by separating the colors entirely. This new identity features a plain black helmet and socks paired with jerseys and pants that prominently feature purple and gold. The current font is replaced by a blockier gothic one with a metallic gold drop shadow. Tennessee Titans The Titans are going back in time with this look. Out are the dull navy and grey, in are Columbia blue and a pop of red. I adjusted the old number font to make it thicker with more even weighting and widened the old shoulder yolk. Add red accessories to the mix, and you've got a bright and colorful mix that stands out in the league.
  2. It's a shame we're wasting such a great uniform matchup on preseason football.
  3. Week one is going to feature the home team in red helmets with all white below that and the road team in white helmets with all red below that. That's going to be so ugly and confusing.
  4. The Bruins are unveiling new uniforms for the centennial season on September 16. Here's the full centennial site.
  5. That whole lead-up to the Nike takeover in 2012 featured some of the worst concepts any of us have ever seen.
  6. They're taking one thing in Denver known for being white at the top (snowcapped mountains) and using the same terminology for a uniform that will also only be white at the top. That does make sense.
  7. It's because the white is at the top like a snowcapped mountain. Dumb marketing speak, yes, but it also makes a degree of sense.
  8. The Titans were just fine with these two sets. They could play with the number font or the stripes on the helmet, but those were much better than what they have now.
  9. Yeah, I thought Matt Judon made these uniforms look better last year. As a general rule, the socks should always match either the helmet or the jersey. In rare cases, they can match the jersey numbers. So, no matter what, they should match some big color block from above the waist.
  10. Forcing a team to wear a separate all-white uniform instead of the primary one with the white helmet seems like a totally arbitrary place to draw the line. Seems obvious to me that if the Bengals are allowed to have a white-out look, they shouldn't be forced to wear a completely different white uniform than the one they wear most games. I feel like the real solution to the whole alternate helmets/alternate uniforms thing is just to put a cap on the number of different combinations a team can wear in a season. Limit teams to like four or five different uniform sets from head to toe and you probably won't have any issues. The teams that want their alternate helmets can get them, and you won't have teams going crazy with the number of mix and match options they have. Teams have to designate primary dark and light combinations and all others can be worn a max of three games like now.
  11. The press release says black at Seattle, too, which makes me think the Seahawks are wearing action green and the Panthers are indeed wearing black in a color vs color game.
  12. I'm guessing this means we still get the all-black uniforms with the midnight green helmets for a game. The Eagles have worn black against the Giants every season since 2014 except for 2017, and that game is a standalone game on Christmas this year. Feels like we can at least pencil that in as the black-out game for Philly.
  13. A lot of Bills fans think a throwback may be coming. Josh Allen teased people with a red helmet at practice last season. I can't tell if it's just fans wishcasting or if there's actually a chance, but we should find out soon.
  14. So this confirms the Jets will wear the black uniforms with the one remaining alternate slot, and they will wear them at home, both as expected. Looking at the schedule, I'm assuming those will be worn either on Monday Night Football against the Chargers in week 9 or on Black Friday against Miami in week 12. The Jets have hosted MNF three times since this new uniform set was unveiled, with two against the Patriots. They wore all black with green helmets in 2020 in week 9 and all green with white socks in 2019 in week 7 against New England and wore the all black with green helmets in 2019 against the Browns in week 2. Obviously, the Black Friday game is new. If I got to pick, I'd wear the black uniform then. It just makes too much sense. I'm curious if they'd use the black logo if/when they go white over black at home.
  15. This entire forum is dedicated to the aesthetics of sports; drawing the line at discussing when uniforms will be worn, especially during a part of the season when those announcements get made and there's little other news, seems entirely arbitrary. This thread is also literally for discussing when different uniforms will be worn. If you don't want to see people discussing when different uniforms could be worn or when they want them to be worn, I wouldn't click on the thread.
  16. Those are... fine? They aren't awful, just unnecessary. Feels like a sure thing that they wear those against New England. That game is in primetime and on Christmas Eve. If you're unveiling something that's #Snowcapped and then don't wear it around Christmas, then you're really bad at marketing lol
  17. This will be the second year in a row the Chiefs go on the road for Sunday Night Football in week 4 and wear red for it. They did it at Tampa last year and will do so again at New York this year.
  18. I hadn't even considered that the Jets throwbacks mean less games with the black uniforms. That's amazing. I suspected that Rodgers being in New York might mean more traditional combinations anyway, but less black is a huge win. Here's hoping for a lot of these three uniforms this season.
  19. So the Jets are wearing the white throwbacks in weeks 1 and 4 in home primetime games. Week 2 is at Dallas, and week 3 is against New England. Could we see the regular green jersey in back-to-back games there?
  20. Did they announce the games they're wearing them yet?
  21. Hey everyone! Got inspired by some of the throwbacks released recently and the conversation over in the NFL 2023 Changes thread to start working on some new concepts. I don't have a goal with this thread, just going to use it to post any NFL concepts I make as I go along. Going to start here with my Seahawks concept. This one fuses the overall design of the throwbacks with the font from the newest set and the coloring of the past two uniforms. Curious to hear your thoughts on this!
  22. With white pants, I would like it. But all yellow was one of the better color rush looks, I think.
