  1. If stars are confirmed to be included on the new uniforms, I highly doubt that Red Hogs is still a possibility.
  2. Technically, you're correct. But FC isn't french enough for Quebec french speakers, so they translated it. Inter Miami also uses CF. --- 32's would be fun for a fantasy franchise in the video game's create-a-team. For the real thing, it doesn't roll off the tongue as well as Washington Red Hogs or Washington Commanders. I hope Washington Admirals doesn't become the name. I associate the name with the minor league hockey team from Milwaukee much more. There are far better choices to pick from. It they use the name of their Quidditch team, it would be a very uninspired choice to just slap something already being used by various minor league teams.
  3. It's the short term for Football used mostly in europeen french vocabulary. I don't know any teams either. Quebec borrowed a word from their jargon.
  4. - I don't think that the 2 black and yellow teams have the exact same socks now. - The fact that they went straight back to the old, dated uniforms without changing anything, it highlights the flaws that stick out like a sore thumb.
  5. I disagree. A lot of soccer teams use FC for their names. Montreal followed along into the trend and use the french translation of FC. I think it's great. I'm pretty sure they shortened "Football" to "Foot" so that nobody confuses it with Canadian Football and the Alouettes. Franchises with NFL teams usually only have FC in the logo, again probably to set the 2 sports apart. Miami, one of the exceptions, spell it in spanish "FĂștbol". For American Football, every single team has a standard name. I don't think it will work for any of the big 4 sports franchises to simply call themselves the *insert city* Hockey Team, or Baseball Team, etc.
  6. This could be just another concept. I saw this posted yesterday.
  7. I kinda like the Robo Penguin. It's a very underrated logo.
  8. They don't. It's only what might happen if the navy neon got a matching road white. If they use the navy neon at home and the current road on the road, the logos will remain as they are.
  9. That's why I don't understand why the Oilers retired royal blue so soon, if royal blue is so popular. As unpopular as navy is for the Oilers, it always lasts so much longer. But the Flames & Leafs invert the crest to white on the homes only. With both jerseys having the neon version, it would look weird to not go all the way. Like their identity crisis will remain unresolved.
  10. If the Oilers make their navy blue alts their new primary uniforms, does that mean this becomes the new primary logo?
  11. Sens should have made better updates to the logo like the Sabres did. --- The Sharks are heavily rumored to return to their roots as well. If they do, they need to take notes from the Sabres, Padres, Brewers, Buccaneers, and Chargers. IMO, there a right and wrong way to make a traditional-inspired uniform look appealing at the same time.
  12. First thing I thought of was the Ottawa Senators with their disappointing logo update.
  13. You basically needed 2 sets of back numbers: one for the wavy bottom on the left and one for the right beside it where the wave stripe is a bit higher. More work for the sewing team who applied numbers on the backs of jerseys, they have to be careful not to get confused.
  14. So a Blackhawks heritage jersey in sorta the same colors of the Brooklyn Nets (which I assume the Jersey fanbase still has allegiances to). It's decent looking. By no means does this uniform represent the Devils in any way. But If the goal is to make sales to a specific demo by repping the Nets, then I guess that's the purpose of this alt jersey design. The Islanders, who aren't that far from their state area, once had a similar black jersey with white stripes. It was by design for when they were recolated to Brooklyn. That's their take on special edition colored jerseys.
  15. The Bruins should have never changed this look. It was essentially perfect.
  16. Making a 56 yard field goal attempt in the middle of the pouring rain is tough. It hit the post, but he came darn close.
  17. Tom Brady will still be playing, when he's 50. That's my prediction.
  18. I was talking about the logo concept. Not the stripes.
  19. This a concept on Icethetics from an artist. Had they gone with something like this revised crest, it would have been amazing.
  20. But that's what I said. Sometimes, nostalgia has a shelf life. It's case by case. The Oilers, I have no doubt a lot of fans still have a soft spot for the royal and orange. What we know is that someone got rid of them quickly. I believe it was management and they gave away free jerseys to fans, to fill the arena with orange. Aesthetically, the new/old Sens uniforms have a ton of flaws. But it is true though that it appeals to the fans of the team, in spite of that. I hope if the Sharks bring back the original logo, they fix it up. 5 outlines around a single triangular background is too much, imo.
  21. They didn't do like other teams and clean up the logo tracing, make it sharper, and remove the excessive outlines. Also, this is just my personal preference. But I also feel like the 3D centurion is vastly superior to the nostalgia logo. Nostalgia phases sometimes have a shelf life.
