  1. A few reasons. Not solely because they lost. Vegas started by losing the Cup in year one, their 1st "heartbreak" because a lot of their fans already wanted a Cup or bust. That probably includes Gary Bettman himself. In the following years, they were dominant but blew opportunities to go all the way in spectacular chokes, at least twice. Against Montreal, they threw everything including the kitchen sink at the Habs with horrible officiating calls that made the news, and not only did it make them look like a joke, but they still lost. At first, they went out of their way to make sure the team was an attraction, amazing jerseys, on-ice spetacles, a witty twitter account runner, etc. But when they got desperate, the bias officiating affected how they are perceived. Even if it wasn't their call to have Chris Lee ref and favor the Golden Knights, it still isn't a good look on them. True that they're still a young team with lots of years ahead of them, but thus far they have their share of fails.
  2. I turned off all email notifications and I'm still receiving a email notification every single time I log in normally, asking me if it's really me. It's gotten annoying. Some of the site changes are an improvement, some of the changes really need to be fixed or returned to the way it was before.
  3. Now it's back but at the bottom next to location and favorite logos. It's all condensed a little too much. The old placement was better, but it might still be a work in progress.
  4. Maybe it's all the bright lights over the ice from regular hockey games. The Avs colors do look slightly off, when that steel blue sometimes is too close to royal and it somehow darkens the burgundy. Either that or the Avs colors are just a tad bit off. Colorado doesn't look horrible. Maybe not straight up navy. But they might be a few shade adjustments away from getting it just right.
  5. The Avs switching the black pants to blue was the right call. The new look has grown on me for a few reasons that I noticed. The original jerseys had thick dual outlines around the arm stripes. Black pants combined with burgundy jersey base, blue arms, and white numbers balanced out all the colors: The whites had color balance too: The new ones have singular outlines: The blue on the homes might be a bit excessive and not quite perfect, depending on the amount of lighting in the photograph. But with a light enough burgundy and a slightly darker steel blue, it works quite well. The whites look much better cause with the black shells, they looked like a burgundy and black team with almost no blue whatsever.
  6. Any chance Connor McDavid asks the Oilers to be traded? I know they signed him to a long contract, but will he get to the point where he's had enough and wants out, if he hasn't reached that feeling already?
  7. I don't want new logos. I just want them to be updated nicer like the AZ Cardinals or the Buffalo Sabres. Fix the tracing only.
  8. Montreal, Hamilton, and Edmonton have the best looks in the league. I'd love to see the Saskatchewan, BC, and Calgary give their primary logos much needed updates. Make the outlines sharper so that the overall logo designs become improved and up to date.
  9. I wish they'd finally build that baseball stadium, so MTL can finally welcome the Expos back. Still to this day, a large quantity of fans miss "Nos z'Amours".
  10. There are a few things I agree with. The original jerseys did not look good with the reverse yokes and the odd stripes at the wrists. The colors were really misused. The 2000s update was a click n fill of the Senators/Penguins. More blue was a plus, but something put together in minutes without care is going will never feel appealing. Black, blue, and white is a nice combo. Their best usage of it was the black Bolts jersey that was black with white stripes and well-placed blue accents. The current blue jersey needs more black, imo. But there's a way to highlight this color scheme the right way. For some strange reason, those colors looked better on their alts.
  11. I'm not a fan of the Flames going back to their 80s look full-time. While I agree that their edge jerseys with the flag shoulder patches were atrocious, I think they should have replaced them with this uniform, instead. Change the script for the black Flaming C, call it a day, and that would have possibly been the best the Flames ever looked. The black accents combined with red and yellow is a unique color scheme that's fitting for the Flames that I'm sad to see it go. I believe whoever is in charge of their uniform aesthetics has not done a good job.
  12. After looking it up, Philadelphia is their original location. The Philly Athletics does have a decent ring to it, similar to Oakland A's. Kansas City Athletics is a meh name and a short-lived experiment. Royals has a background history that belongs to KC. Because the change was made decades ago, I feel like it works for them. They made it work. I wasn't aware about Philly & KC, until it was pointed out. Vegas being a major pro sports market is as new as you can get. That's why I prefer they come up with a nice modern name fitting for Las Vegas.
  13. So Las Vegas is going to take a 2nd franchise from Oakland? The Las Vegas Athletics is a terrible sounding name, just like the Las Vegas Raiders. I know that they just slapped the Raiders name on whichever city would host Oakland's team because the NFL or whoever didn't want to retire that identity. I just don't agree with that decision because there should be better care given to sports brands. The Golden Knights went out of their way to make a stunningly attractive grey jersey and branded every aspect of the franchise to make it stand out and connect with Vegas scenery, including consistent names with their minor league affiliate. The NFL did the total opposite. They should do like the OKC Thunder did and get their own name so that the Sonics could use the name, if they ever return. Same for Oakland, if they're forced to relocate the Athletics. OKC's logo is awful, but at least they got the name part right.
  14. The avatars are overlapping board posts on my Android. I was wondering why is it suddenly out of place like that.
  15. This is one instance where having a thin outline works as fitting complementary striping on a modern design. What Nashville uses now, for example, is a click n fill generic template. The old ones were vastly superior.
  16. Most of the re-design teams in all 4 major pro sports have been on fire lately! The Sabres, Padres, Kraken, Brewers, Buccaneers, Chargers, Bengals, and Hornets all look excellent. Let's see if the Cardinals can pull off the best of both worlds combo. In other words, the right combination of past and present, so that they have something that looks great and that ties in to the team history just right.
  17. As far as the Senators are concerned, the team went with the most popular Senators fan choice. They chose the 90s 2D look over the Barberpole =O= and any of the 3D Centurion styles. I would have expected an updated version of that look, to try to sell something new and fix the flaws of that look. Instead, they just re-did the jerseys and fit them however they could in the new template without making any needed tweeks. The roundel with the 2D centurion doesn't count because the fans wanted the one with the more unique shape. That could be a reason why they didn't go with that. I think the rebrand is awful looking, lazy, and uninspired. But I was not their targeted demographic.
  18. The old Dolphins logo is better, even though it might be considered cartoonish: Now I do like the new logo style. The outline traces are lighter and a tad bit more simplified, the new one is brighter and more tropical. It just that when I see the new logo, I think of something like a Marineland resort, it doesn't give away football vibes like the old. If Miami re-draws the classic Dolphin character using the new style and colors, they might not need to change logos again. It has the potential to be outstanding like the Sabres.
  19. The numbers had 4 outlines, the insides contained crossover trace lines from one end to another. If the Bucs sized the flag down a bit and went with a more standard font, the rest of the uniform is actually quite decent. I'm in agreement with some of the points you made. The font they went with reminded me of the Orlando Rage of the XFL.
