Wow. The Bears cannot get out of their own was. It’s almost not even funny anymore. It’s getting pretty sad.

Iowa’s got the same situation going on this week that ND had last week. The black pants that go with the alternate uniforms have a gold swoosh and the jersey has white. It bothers me more than it should and I’m having an internal debate over whether to point it out to my wife or not.

Same man, I didn’t want to be the one to say it and open that can of worms. Love that quote, by the way. That’s great.

Fair enough, I don’t watch ESPN just to avoid that crap. I like to keep my world small.

I don’t remember this being so obvious in the past. Could it be the new materials/template? It makes the helmet look damn near red compared to the jersey

Outside of the competitive trash talk from Colorado’s opponents, I don’t get the hate/resentment coming from the general sports public. Oregon should be wiping the floor with Colorado and they are. Good for them. That says more about Oregon than it does Colorado and Deion Sanders. Anyone with a brain couldn’t have possibly expected Colorado to compete with the big dogs just yet. Deion is just being Deion. He’s obviously got them going in the right direction. They’re competitive and relevant. Last year they were the worst FBS team in the country. Have fun, enjoy the show and see what they do after they get knocked down presumably two weeks in a row.

Adam Wainwright finally got his 200th win last night. Even though it took him three months to get the last two wins, it has a bright spot in an otherwise lost season. It has been bittersweet to see him come back for one last go-round and struggle so much. I don’t think Wainwright is a Hall of Famer but he’s a Cardinals legend and an absolute bulldog on the mound. I’ve love watching him compete with his whole heart for almost 20 years. He’ll be the last of the Cardinals I truly grew up with to retire. I’m bald and have plenty of gray hairs in my beard. I’m officially getting old.

The Jets look great. It’s like the regular uniforms but without the goofy stuff that make those bad and that helmet is absolutely beautiful with a white face mask instead of black. It’s like the nerdy girl in a teen movie took her glasses off and let her hair down.

I do not like Ole Miss’s use of powder blue. They look best when they stick with navy blue helmets and gray pants. I also don’t understand the obsession with that color around here in general. It’s a perfectly fine color but it’s use does not immediately make a uniform “good”

Agreed. The current set cannot go away fast enough IMO. Hopefully the popularity of the Oilers throwbacks pushes them back in that direction.

I know Purdue is wearing what is essentially a throwback, but it’s not a very good one IMO. It looks more dated than classic to me. The double outline looks cheap and the gold is too light to be touching white. I thought Purdue looked pretty good when they stuck to the basics with the last set (minus the silly rubber cow catcher)

That white bears helmet would be far less offensive than the Great Pumpkin helmet.

I know someone else mentioned it before, but the white sun is particularly jarring because the full-color logo is on the waistband. I think the orange ball/yellow sunburst would look great on both jerseys. semi related: apparently the suns’ primary logo is still black from like 3? uniforms ago. Do they ever use it? Why not update it to purple?

Kentucky’s numbers look a little bloated with the outline. No need for the silver trim, but it’s an upgrade. The checkered look was tired and dated.

The Suns new uniforms are not good. The white uniform is the better of the two, but the ball REALLY needs to be orange. Hell, make the sunburst yellow like the originals and, ya know, like the logo in the waistband. On the purple jersey, the white trim makes no sense, purple would be miles better and match the shorts. The whole thing is a disjointed pale imitation of the original. Do not like.

Honestly, I don’t hate the green pants. It’s fun for a one-off college game.

I know that’s probably what’s really going on but it seems like it’s bothering him a little bit. Maybe they have had private discussions with him to assure him he’s not really going anywhere. Why let the speculation and rumors swirl? They made a mess out of the Contreras situation earlier this season and it sure appears that they’re handling this poorly, too. Maybe it’s all a big leverage play, IDK. I can’t tell if there’s really any fire with the fire and I’m having a lot of anxiety over the trade deadline and I don’t trust the cardinals to not outsmart themselves.

Shopping Arenado to the Dodgers is exactly the kind of BS I’m tired of seeing from the Cardinals. The management and ownership is so :censored:ing arrogant that they believe they’ll pull one over on the Dodgers and somehow replace Arenado’s production with an aggregate of three glorified AAAA players and continue to be just good enough to be the third wildcard. Honestly, the way they’re apparently keeping him in the dark with all of the talk/rumors flying around, I hope he gets traded and kicks the Cardinals ass for them next 4-6 years. If he’s not available, shut that :censored: down. Either way, he deserves enough respect to know what’s going on.

I don’t really care for the helmet stripe either. A tonal stripe or no stripe at all would have been better. The black is par for the course in college football. I’m numb to it at this point.

I’ll toss in my $.02 for what it’s worth (as a Cardinals fan). Did mikolas need to hit Happ? No he did not. I’m not really sure why he thought he had to hit him. Is Happ known for clipping catchers with the long backswing or something? Mikolas obviously hit him on purpose, but it was about as innocent of an intentional HBP as you’ll see, if there is such a thing. At that point, it was over for both teams. Instead of issuing warnings and moving on, the umpires made a mountain out of a mole hill when they inserted themselves into a situation that had apparently already been resolved. They changed the whole outlook of the game and probably created some bad blood that could spill over into games 2, 3 and 4.

Don’t really care for the white basketball sun. Orange should have been a no-brainer.

Eh, I like the orange center stripe better. I’d make the white jersey and pants match the helmet. I don’t think that requires changing the orange jersey or pants. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Tradition be damned. Please fix the stripe on the white pants Miami!
