In the sadness montage portion of One Shining Moment there’s a clip of a dejected Nebraska player that’s not even from the tournament (Huskers wore white in the tourney, he’s in red in the clip) Never noticed they use non-Tourney clips before and now I feel cheated

Absolutely unreal effort by South Carolina to go undefeated. This is a complete team. Players 1-9 can all give you problems.

Brownie the Elf is whimsical and should have been the primary eons ago. They’d have the market of whimsy all to themselves in this league but instead would rather have a logo every team has some variation of.

Caught a little glimpse of it. Hated the scorebug placement. It was off in the bottom left instead of being a bar at the bottom. Looked more like one of those pop-up stats graphics than an actual scorebug.

I don’t think it should have been called, but I get why they called it. UConn also played pretty bad in the second half, I was surprised they wound up with a chance to win it. Still, at the end of the day, I just think it’d have been cooler if it wasn’t called (even if I don’t see that UConn possession going anywhere)

Yeah that is true. Not sure why we’d make the change tho, we’re one of the few schools who’s kept regular block forever.

New font for Nebraska? It’s pretty much Washington’s font, I’d bet this is Adidas moving away from plain block for all its schools. Not a fan if so, it just looks wrong.

Looks like a new font for Nebraska? Pretty much the font Washington’s using, I’d imagine this would be an Adidas-wide switch since I don’t see us requesting anything other than plain block.

Wow. My March-only eyes missed that completely, I only knew that Bueckers was back after missing last year. They were so much more poised at the end of the game than USC, must have fooled me.

I think she was more hurt than she was saying too, after she exited the game both her and the LSU offense lost all their mojo. Either way tho, you weren’t beating Caitlin Clark with that defensive gameplan. Iowa will face UConn in the Final Four. Geno’s got that machine running well as ever now that everyone’s healthy. I could see Bueckers matching Clark’s energy in a scoring duel. NC State vs. South Carolina in the other matchup. South Car will likely coast. Also, first time ever two different schools have both their men’s and women’s teams make the final four.

And now they’re both in the Final Four! Zach Edey vs. DJ Burns is going to be incredible television. UConn will likely roll the Tide.

NC State is having the best day ever. Men’s team knocks out Marquette to get to the elite eight as an 11-seed. Women’s team knocks out powerhouse Stanford to get to the elite eight.

Seeing them in action today I absolutely loved them. Looks so classic and clean.

Leave it to Nebraska to change that God what an embarrassing performance. At least five of our six best players graduate so we’ll have to start all over just to hope to get back to a place where Hoiberg gets mercilessly outcoached. Now I’m grumpy lmao. The tournament is more fun when your team’s not in it.

I am breaking my “never blame the officials” spell for this one. Apologies to anyone complaining about refs I have yelled at before, I get it now. Yes, Samford should have played better throughout the game. They had some really dumb possessions, bricked some huge free throws, and still had a chance to take it to OT after the call, but oh my god that’s egregious. The ref was clearly gonna call a foul no matter what happened on that play, it was a pure anticipation call with no way to correct it if it went wrong. He didn’t even touch the guy. Why I’m really mad about this is Samford may never get this chance again. They hadn’t made it in 24 years before this year, and had a blue blood on the absolute ropes. Add in the powers that be desperately wanting to weed these teams out of the big dance sooner rather than later and there’s a chance this may be it for this team and fanbase. Yet this is how it ends. A ref not playing who’s not even paying attention to what’s in front of his eyes letting a Kansas team who wants to flush this season ASAP move on for nothing. Wooh that was cathartic. And I don’t even have a connection to Samford other than them being a team with a high number next to their name in March.

IIRC Rodman tried but the NBA wouldn’t allow it. I think that makes the NBA the only league with a number banned, not retired, leaguewide.

Definitely a downgrade but not by as much as I was fearing. Will need to see all angles and the full set obviously but I think I can live with this. White sox on the road (will likely be worn on home too but let’s ignore that for now) is an upgrade over blue, but not as much as red would be.
