I don't see why Belichick would want to coach again in the NFL after this.  I feel like he'd be much more inclined to go to a smaller NCAA program where he could relax and not have the NFL circus all around him.

Who even wants that, at most if I were him I’d retire and take some pseudo position in someone’s front office to try to make them look legitimate but have no actual responsibility to do anything.

NFL  QB s need to be able to handle pressure in the pocket. The Washington O-line was one of the best in the country, and Penix had all day every day to make those beautiful throws.

The Michigan D-line was far beyond anything Washington played all season long, and Penix couldn't handle it. His on-a-dime throws disappeared, and by the end of the game he was just chucking it.

I like Penix and I'm a UW alum. I wish last night had been different. However, it wasn't and Penix was a huge part of why Washington wasn't able to win, even though the defense kept them in the game through three quarters. The win was there for UW, but Penix couldn't hit his receivers. He could get within three feet of them, but was consistently off the mark in high-pressure settings.

If were a GM, I'd see him as a project and not a starter.

Every qb sucks when they have no time to throw the ball.

    Another one bites the dust.

Out of everyone he probably deserves the boot the least. It wasn’t his fault the front office traded away everyone on offense but Henry and overpaying for tannehill. He never lost the locker room he just didn’t have talent.

Im hoping this team can bounce back. Its been a rough couple of years for them since the Next Gen car came out

Outside of harvick they were struggling before that even

Just you having Brock and CMC being interchangeable as far as which could/should win the award make it pretty clear that neither of them are the most valuable player.  You could make a pretty good case that the 49ers offense would still go without either player in part because of the other one.  That's not the case for Baltimore.  You can spin that BAL/SF game however you want but biggest matchup of the season and Lamar showed up, Brock did not.

Without CMC, or Debo that offense struggled. You also can’t say an offense would still be good without purdy when his backup is Sam darnold.

As worthless as the Pro Bowl is, usually players are excited because at the very least, they get bonuses or something.  These guys are so checked out that they don't even give a single F.  Not sure I've ever seen complete apathy like this.

That’s a pretty universal reaction around the league, especially in that environment.

any truth to the idea that the jets are getting new sets in 2024? jets fans on X seem convinced that because the five years are up and that everyone loves the sacks exchange throwback that they're going full-time throwback next year. one dude claims woody and christopher johnson basically confirmed that to him at a tailgate. lots of hearsay and inferences, but wondering if there's any truth to it?

Why would woody Johnson be at a tailgate? You think he would bother coming down from his ivory towers? There is nothing about them changing.

I still don't get trying to trick the defense into thinking someone else was eligible.  They're not looking at who's talking to the referees.  They're worried about getting their play call, recognizing the formation, and catching their breath.

Even if the defense only heard "something 8" from the announcement, they should quickly scan and see 68 there in an eligible position. These are pro players, they should be able to see that quickly.

Trying to trick by sending three players to the referee is harry high-school scat.  Even if 70 is reporting all game long anyway, which is normal just for formation legality regardless of whether he's a target or not, they're not going to trick a professional defense (unless there's some real dummies out there, which is a fair assumption in many cases, but I don't get that sense from the Cowboys.) Especially on 2-pt conversions, where defenses are trained to look for tricks.

There's failure all around.  68 should have gotten some kind of acknowledgement from the referee.  The play shouldn't have called for three guys to be over there, which ended up causing the confusion in the first place.  If it was my team, I'd be absolutely livid at the referee, but objectively, we can't hear what was actually said to the refs and until we do, I think the blame has to go both ways.

68 did get a verbal acknowledgement from the ref, the ref looked right at him nodded and said “ok” to him. What more acknowledgement does he need?

late and have no idea if somebody already mentioned this but i was just checking out somr highlights of a rockets game from about a week ago and noticed that they actually have the full team name going across the baseline from top to bottom. not sure if this has been around all season or if any other team does the same but at last the world is healing

Was it nationally televised or local? I think there are different rules where for one they don’t need to leave the top park blank for ads.

At least they have some (ancient) history in the colors. I’m half expecting it to be yellow with blue headspoon and random patches of Ben Franklin, a cheesesteak, the liberty bell, Rocky, a heroin needle, and someone running with stolen sneakers.

Can’t forget the patch of drunken eagles fans trying to climb up a greased pole

I don't think he really ripped anyone off, he's on a rookie deal, he's just not complete enough to win playoff games with. I think he'll be an enticing project for a team or two until his legs give out. I could see the Falcons or Saints taking a flyer on him, maybe the Broncos, maybe even the Raiders, they're always doing dumb crap that makes no sense.

He can’t win regular season games to even get to the playoffs

So what are the thoughts of Chase Field and Petco Park being laid out as football fields from the Guaranteed Rate Bowl and Holiday Bowl?  We're going to see Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park as football fields upcoming.

It’s nothing new and would prefer them to be at purpose built football stadiums for those in attendance to have a better experience, atleast Fenway and Yankee stadium are historical/ memorable parks. Chase field and Petco park are no different than any other. What other thoughts are we suppose to have.

I think (?!) the point is that Nike produced thus can produce "gold" fabric that doesn't look like extra-hot washed khaki. Now it's incumbent upon the Saints to adapt the Vanderbilt shades and call it a day.

(All the other black and "gold" Nike college teams should follow suit...)

Those pants weren’t made by Nike. They have a belt, and completely different cut. Someone else made them

I don't mind the shade of yellow at all and actually prefer it to the athletic gold they wore in their Jared Goff SB season. I don't like the segmented horn either but it's the definition of something you don't notice from a distance. While worse than the previous horn, it doesn't drag the entire uniform down IMO. The bone is obviously awful but I think nowadays you just have to ignore team's alternates. So many teams have terrible ones and they only wear those like once a year. And I don't understand the muddling you're talking about.

You realize where you are right?  You can’t just ignore things because they don’t fit your narrative. I also want to remind you that the bone was the primary away jersey when it come out. The segmented horn can most certainly be seen from a distance, you don’t even need the close ups which they do for half the game and then you see every bad idea the design team came up with. you liking the neon highlighter yellow is your opinion but its also an unpopular one.

They are but they are smallish details that you don't see on a typical action shot during a game. I know that's not all that matters but there's many teams who look awful from a distance too.

Well they don’t look good from a distance either, with the highlighter yellow, segmented horn, the dirty laundry white color, and the muddling where ever the white and yellow touch

Maybe… just maybe… the flames and rainbow are an axalta/dupont thing and not a jeff Gordon thing

They just had significant renovations like 15 years ago. The stadium's fine. The location is fine. The issue is that you have an owner who has hated his customers for 43 years.

Renovation 15 years ago on a 32 year old stadium that was obsolete when it was constructed. It may be fine in the sense it’s not falling apart, but it’s a relic compared to the rest of the league.
