  1. Czech Republic (Česko) I went back to the previous wordmark, and simplified the sleeve design to go for a more color-block look.
  2. Cuba I went back to the uniform Cuba wore for the 2009 World Baseball Classic (minus the underarm inserts), and added a blue alternate to match.
  3. Thanks! I honestly didn't even realize how well the cloud pattern paired with the dragon-style script until after I had already posted it! Thank you! Ironically, China's set didn't really come together until the last-minute!
  4. Colombia I went with a sleeve design inspired by the yellow-heavy flag, and kept the dark gray road jersey from the 2017 WBC.
  5. Looks like I have some catching up to do! Netherlands: I like the idea of going with orange & light blue, but I do think the problematic history of the flag it derives from might be too much to overcome. The shades you chose feel a bit muted as well, I wonder how it would look with more "vibrant" shades? From a pure design standpoint, I do think that having a dark color like black helps balance out the orange, anyway. Having the crown logo as a patch was an upgrade as well. Panama: I really like this set, the home white is my favorite. Like the Netherlands, the shades of navy & red look a bit muted, I would love to see it with shades a bit brighter. Australia: The change to their traditional green & gold was an upgrade, though I applaud your effort to try the lime green, it was definitely worth a shot given its presence on their social media. The gradient looks nice too. China: Maybe it's just because I'm so used to seeing them in their traditional red & gold, but something about the red & orange feels "off" to me at first glance, though it is growing on me. Czech Republic: This is definitely one of the more "off the wall" sets, and it might be a bit too out there for me personally, but I admire the creativity. Japan: I like the idea to try embracing pink full-time for them, but I agree with @CDCLT that it felt like a bit too strong of a departure from their iconic set. The rose gold seems like a solid compromise. Korea: I like this one! The bright shades definitely help it to "pop." I'm curious why you used a more muted shade of blue for the away, though? I feel like the brighter shade would make a really nice jersey. I hope I don't sound too critical, as you're definitely willing to take more creative risks with this series than I did with mine, which I do appreciate. As always, I'm looking forward to seeing what you have next!
  6. Chinese Taipei/Taiwan The team's uniforms are already pretty nice, so I just removed the clutter of the baseball stiches from the logo & went with striping inspired by the "flower" in the flag.
  7. China (中国) I actually had this cloud pattern prepared on the alternate before China unveiled their new uniforms, but when they did, I decided to extend it to the main home & away as well. Also, the new script is awesome, so I replaced the Old English (quite ironic) wordmark with it.
  8. This. I think it’s a big reason why the “Twin Cities” alt grew on me so fast, because the solid navy on creme really does look so clean: Compare that to the pinstripe throwback (which I’ll always love, for nostalgic purposes), where the colors of the wordmark do sort of bleed into each other from a distance: (Boy was that a great uniform though. Better than anything they’d had since, before the redesign).
  9. Canada I was originally planning on going with a look that was inspired by the Vancouver Canadians Minor League team, but after the team unveiled their new wordmark I decided I like it more, even if it is a bit Blue Jays-esque.
  10. For what it's worth, I'd probably have the undershirt be green too, in order to help balance all of the colors out. I thought about making the last-second change to make the Nike swoosh green, but decided against it: I also thought about something like this, but I liked the no-outlines look for Brazil:
  11. Brazil (Brasil) I went with a modern, clean look incorporating Brasil's Olympic wordmark and all 3 of the iconic flag's colors.
  12. Thanks! To be honest, I think arching the wordmark clashes with the "space-age-ness" of the font as @CDCLT alluded to, so I'd honestly rather just try a full redesign.
  13. I understand this. To be completely honest, I’m not too big on this Australia set as a whole myself, their real-life uniforms didn’t offer a lot of inspiration to go off of beyond the nice color scheme. I’ll try a re-do that uses the current wordmark and incorporates some design elements from aboriginal art, which is something I’ve always wanted to do but I don’t think I’ve ever quite fully figured out how to pull off well. It will probably take a while, but if it works out I’ll fit in a post for it here.
  14. Australia As will likely be a common theme in this series, I went back to their original WBC wordmark, and went with a green-sleeve design inspired by their futuristic 2004 Olympics look.
  15. Thank you so much! Thank you! The font is called Stahls Tiffany, it's the same font the Red Sox use for their wordmarks. I'll definitely look into that cap template, too!
  16. Ironically, if the Twins were to get an ad patch (praying that we get at least one season without one), this would probably be the least bad option. The solid red on white at least pairs nicely with the wordmark.
  17. Worth noting that the previous home set’s batting helmet didn’t match the cap either (gold outline on the cap, no outline on the helmet), not that that makes it any better.
  18. I will admit, the wordmark does seem like it might look a bit “wispy” in action, I’m gonna need to see more of it in order to have a more firm judgement about it. Still, I think it’s an upgrade over the previous wordmark because it’s cleaner and more readable. This is part of why I like it so much, that they were willing to try something a bit new, that still connects to a different, more iconic aspect of their branding (the no-outline look connects really nicely with the TC.) This is what is so refreshing to me, as the Twins have never really had a wordmark that I’ve actually loved until now. As you said yourself, both of the Twins main previous wordmarks were quite a bit chunky, in different ways. This new one looks like a streamlined, modern combination that takes the best from both of them. The new uniform is essentially as close to a throwback of the Carew era as one can get these days, without going full-on throwback. As @Carolingian Steamroller said, the batting helmet really brings the connection home. There’s also traces of the 90’s Puckett & 2010’s Target Field era in the wordmarks & number font. I think this sums up nicely what I love about the redesign: everything is very clean & easy to read from any distance, while still feeling distinctly “Twins” in a modern & refreshing way. I can agree with this. Personally, I like the M* cap, but I wouldn’t mind the TC as the primary away cap. I do think the alternate needs the M* cap though, as having the TC on both the cap & the sleeves would feel redundant. I would love a white-paneled TC cap. Couldn’t agree more.
  19. Thank you! It turns out, the pinstripes on the powder blue is probably my single favorite element of the set, as it reminds me of the late 70's Cubs. Here's a look without though: I haven't found a good cap template that's compatible with Illustrator yet, if somebody knows of one though I'd love to see it. I appreciate the feedback!
  20. Argentina I went with pinstripes inspired by the country's iconic soccer uniforms, a powder blue away, and a racing stripes design on the alternate.
  21. Hello there, Since the World Baseball Classic starts tonight, I figure there'd be no better time to debut my new concept uniforms for the international teams. I'll be posting all 20 participating teams, along with 10 extra teams from the Qualifiers and past tournaments. Each team will have 3 jerseys (home, away, & alternate), & I tried to make at least one jersey for each team feature the native language of the country. World Baseball Classic x NIKE 2023 Pool A Chinese Taipei/Taiwan Cuba Italy (Italia) Netherlands (Nederland) Panamá Pool B Australia Australia Update China (中国) Czech Republic (Česko) Japan (日本) Korea (대한민국) Pool C Canada Colombia Great Britain México United States of America Pool D Dominican Republic (La República Dominicana) Israel (ישראל) Nicaragua Puerto Rico Venezuela Extras Argentina Brazil (Brasil) France Germany (Deutschland) New Zealand (Aotearoa) Pakistan (پاکِستان) Philippines (Pilipinas) South Africa Spain (España) Thailand (ประเทศไทย) I'll be going alphabetically, starting with one of the teams from the Qualifiers, Argentina. Let's begin!
  22. Personally, I think the single-layer looks nice & clean. It’s a heck of a lot easier to read from a distance. It’s interesting that you bring up the Yankees & Dodgers, which are widely considered to be two of the most classic uniforms in baseball (you could throw the Tigers in there as another example). I’m not sure why the Twins wouldn’t be allowed to try to emulate that, considering the team is one of the original American League franchises dating back to 1901. I welcome a team (especially one as desperate for a change as the Twins were) trying a new way to distribute two colors in a scheme rather than just slapping them both in the wordmark.
  23. For those (like me) who weren’t sure what this was referring to: They should have had these in the original uniform update, but this is still a solid upgrade.
  24. I appreciate uniqueness in design, as that’s kind of the central point of sports uniforms, after all. However, unique does not necessarily equal good. The shade of gold they ended up going with was way too dark (for some reason darker than the shade they tested with the 2014 All-Star Game branding), to where it blended with the red to create this awful, muddy shade that didn’t look great from any sort of distance. The only way I think the gold could have maybe worked would be if they flipped the navy & red of the wordmark so that the red & gold didn’t touch. The stripes would also have to be bigger, like the current set, because they were barely visible as they were. The Rangers and Twins both debuted that striping pattern in 1972, so I’m not sure one could say that either team stole it from the other. Plus, it’s not exactly a groundbreaking stripe design to begin with. I’ve seen so many people on Twitter say this & I don’t think I’ll ever understand why. Is it the single color script, & the thick stripe? That’s about where the similarities end. The Royals don’t wear cream, and navy is different enough from royal. If anything, the addition of gold seems like it would be more of an encroachment into Royals territory, not to mention that the Royals themselves are essentially the American League’s version of the Dodgers. The consistency is a very welcome change. That I think it looks good is an added bonus.
  25. Yea fair enough, I was just referring to anthracite in the general sense as a dark gray, but if you replace “anthracite” with “Dark Steel Gray” in my original post, the general point still stands. I think it might’ve been in Madden where there was a noticeable difference between the two, but looking at more pictures, yea it’s probably the same “Wolf Gray” that other teams are wearing. Let’s hope not.
