  1. Exactly. There are some people think it's ok to help break the law and there are some who don't think its ok. Nobody is going to convince the other side of anything. Best thing to do is just end it.
  2. That's not a very strong point. I visit this site because of my interest in sports logos and uniforms, not because of an interest in trying to root out copyright infringement. They are two totally separate issues. It's possible to enjoy sports logos and not care about copyright infringement, just like it's ok to enjoy movies via bootleg, or to enjoy beer despite the fact that it has caused deaths. So you would be perfectly fine with some of your fellow board members having their designs ripped off, stolen or otherwise taken for monetary gain while they receive 0% of the profits, correct? Yes, I would. Just as they would be perfectly fine with someone doing something to me. I mean honestly, if someone stole my wallet tomorrow, and I bitched about it here, would you really give a ? Because if you did, I think you seriously need to consider your priorities. We're not really "friends" - I save that for real life. Because your wallet being stolen and people's work that they do for a living are the same exact thing. You've proved nothing in this thread. Goodbye.

  4. You could, in a way, trace is back the funds garnered through counterfeit merchandise to both terrorist and narcoterrorist groups. Most narcoterrorist organizations (which are usually just organized crime groups) get their finances through drugs, however they also collect a more "clean" revenue, usually through things like counterfeit goods. This money is used towards making more drugs. Either way, the money is funneled into these organizations. Let's not forget the September 2002 Hong Kong arrest of three people who attempted to exchange heroin for U.S. Stinger anti-aircraft missiles that they intended to re-sell to al Qaeda. It does still bother me that people on a sports logos message board are defending the act of copyright infringement. Might as well go to a SAG forum and defense movie piracy, amirite?
  5. Yes, those are 100% counterfeit. You can usually look to see where it's coming from too. If it's from Asia, there's a good chance that it's not real.
  6. You deserve a cookie for your stand against the people standing against the leagues overpriced jerseys. So, what's stopping you from writing a calm, well-spoken letter to the manufacturers, teams and leagues, and nicely stating that their jersey prices are highly priced, rather than supporting organized crime by buying counterfeits? If you'd like to actually accomplish something, then doing that might be a little more proactive than preaching your side on a message board. That is a great idea, I'll send one out tomorrow, and post any follow ups that I receive. Just stay positive and polite. You'll be amazed what companies can do for you if you take a diplomatic approach.

  8. I get what people are saying with this, but it's no different than the OBAMANATION thread, really. It's two sides bickering and not convincing the other side of anything. If that's not shut down, then there's no reason for this one to be, either.
  9. Yes, they are. $300 is the market price for an authentic. If you can't afford it, then don't get a jersey. You're not entitled to one. Someday, you'll understand how the world really works.
  10. I just found a picture of LoveTheFakes' jersey! Totally legit! We were idiots to even question this obviously authentic jersey.
  11. But who cares! You're a fan of a team, which means you're entitled to a jersey, right? If I am paying for the item, then yes. Except that you AREN'T paying for it. You decided jerseys were too expensive, so you purchase poorly-reproduced knock-offs instead. These so-called poorly produced knockoffs have lasted longer than the ones I purchased legitimately. They also look great, I would never wear one that looks like the crap posted here. Post a picture of your jerseys then, if you're so confident, skipper.

  13. Well, all I know is that if any of you guys who think buying counterfeit jerseys are ok, I'm going to take any logos you've ever designed, put them on t-shirts and sell them for dirt cheap. Guess how much you guys are going to make, aka, the people who own the logo or have designed it? Zero dollars and zero cents.
  14. For having a different opinion that most of you? Would you buy a fake Manitoba Moose jersey? Considering someone from these very boards created the logos?
  15. It still baffles me that people on a sports logos message board, where we respect logos that are created and enjoy them, can still try their best to justify these actions of obvious copyright infringement....
  16. Except most counterfeits aren't even close to identical. Furthermore, you can't solve the world's problems by yourself, but you could stop contributing to human rights issues in third-world countries by not buying counterfeits. You should write to the NFL and inform them that their ridiculous mark up is causing all these problems to these poor countries. Congratulations! This post makes no sense!
  17. During the 90's, I cheered for the Hartford Whalers because they were the closest team. When they left, I became a Bruins fan and I know a lot about their team's history. Don't generalize, dick. And I don't have a $300 jersey because I don't have a sense of entitlement to one just because I root for a specific team. I can't afford the marketprice. Plain and simple. You brought up my allegiance to the Bills as some sort of negative, I pointed out the fact that a large part of Bostons fanbase are front running idiots. If you do not want to be called out then do not bring it up. It was a joke, son.

  19. I don't know what's more embarrassing to say - admitting you enjoy buying counterfeit jerseys or admitting you're a Buffalo Bills fan.
  20. He was proboly David Arios or whatever back then too Yeah, he proboly was.
  21. Yeah, who would think this kind of opinion would be prevalent on a sports logos and uniforms message board, amirite?
  22. Why do they need to lower the price? Nobody is entitled to an authentic jersey of their favorite team. Let's put it into perspective then. You're on this board because you have an interest in sports logos, right? So say I create a logo and copyright it. Then, somebody takes my design, puts it on a jersey, prints it up and starts to sell them. I get zero percent of the profits. How is that fair? And yes, there actually IS a difference between an officially licensed authentic jersey and a fake. If you don't think there is then you obviously don't have an authentic jersey. Jerseys arent worth $300 by any stretch. No one said anything about entitlement. this isnt black market crap, this is right out in the open so theres no problem. Knock offs dont make the official logo, they make it a little different. So the copyright really doesnt apply. I dont really care, just threw that last one out there haha. the makers of authentics arent losing money to the knock offs. People who want the so called real thing, get the real thing. So what's the difference between the logo on this jersey and the logo on the logo on this jersey? You, my boy, are an idiot.
  23. I can't lie. The justification of committing crimes makes me giggle.
