  1. You know, for such a Conservative stronghold of a state, it would be nice if one of them would show up to this to knock some sense into 80% of the speakers tonight
  2. Quit acting like schoolchildren? You know, the Coyotes fans seem to be the ones acting childish, but we all knew this anyway. Just LOL LACK OF SELF-AWARENESS AND LOL IRONY
  3. This guy's bringing sense and will probably get beaten up in a mob within 3 minutes
  4. WHY WOULD YOU BUILD A CASINO BUT GET RID OF THE COYOTES?!?!?! THE COYOTES WILL HELP US BUT YOU BUILT A CASINO ACROSS FROM A HIGH SCHOOL WHAT SHAME
  5. "You guys will be asking Who's this moron?" Who's this moron? SHAME ON YOURSELVES FOR EVEN CONSIDERING THIS I can't even. All these people making it seem like the board's full of morons. This is high comedy.
  6. GUESS WHO PAYS THE TAXES?!?!? US!!! THAT'S WHY THE COYOTES NEED TO STAY AND YOU GUYS ON THE BOARD WON'T BE HERE MUCH LONGER AND HE DROPS "PISSED" IN A GOVERNMENT SETTING. OH MY GOD YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS :censored: UP. AGAIN.
  7. Here come the residents that love their Westgate! And war analogies!
  8. There better be a live stream of the real life Tom Goes to the Mayor again. That's going to be mandatory second-screen/post-game viewing. Oh, and obligatory
  9. I do like the Canadiens blue striped white jersey but yeah.. there's way too much history in the white jerseys to make a switch permanently. I'd be fine with the Habs bringing that back for an alternate, though. And not like a 15 time a year alternate, but I guess use it once in Boston, once in New York, once in Toronto, and once in Detroit a year and maybe once more against each Atlantic non-O6 division team and it could work.
  10. Yeah, they'll be fine. Islanders fans could've sold out their local building for years to create demand... & did not. Besides, it's not like they're moving to Las Vegas or Seattle. Well, it could've helped if the Islanders had more than 3 or so good seasons since 1995 to create some demand among the non-diehards, but alas.. I mean, I'm fine with the move to Brooklyn because hey, it's not Kansas City or Vegas! But you can already see a disconnect between older fans like my father and the team with the move to Brooklyn and that they're already saying they're not going to games. On the brighter side, though, the Islanders fanbase has grown with the younger adult crowd in the past 3 seasons. And given us young adult Long Islanders already are taking the LIRR for a night on the town to Manhattan/Rockville Centre/The Hamptons for a Sunday Funday at Bordy Barn anyway, I don't think the move to Brooklyn will be a problem for us younger folks. So there's still that bright side, but even still a large chunk of the fanbase isn't going to make the trip to Barclays. All that said, I still think we're looking at a move back to Nassau after they get this renovation done like 5 years from now and Ratner, et al. decide the move to Barclays didn't work as well as they thought so they'll bring them back to their other property in the new Coliseum.
  11. It's a downgrade from what they had pre-edge and nowhere near as good as they have now, but I liked the idea of an NHL team trying the collegiate route with their jerseys. Of course, they screwed up the home jersey when the Edge system first came out with too much black and not enough green, so that kinda made that set D.O.A. even with the alternate/eventual away to try and save things a bit.
  12. and any other brown/yellow Padres combo /runs for the hills from the angry mob that will come after me, but I will stick to this opinion
  13. Not only that, but they've killed pro hockey altogether in Saint John, Lowell, Omaha, and the Quad Cities. Possibly Abbotsford if the Canucks don't move in. The world has probably left Glens Falls behind. The Flames didn't kill pro hockey in Lowell; the fact that its in Lowell killed pro hockey in Lowell. I would've guessed UMass-Lowell's recent success also played a part in killing pro hockey there
  14. Oddly enough, it is quite popular among the Jewish community here on Long Island. Not at baseball/basketball levels, but up there.
  15. Why yes the Panthers also have their menorah lighting ceremonies sponsored
  16. St. John's basketball really really really needs to go back to being red and black and throw out all of this blue nonsense
  17. Watching the game it looked like there were more Ranger fans rooting against the Islanders in the lower level than Panther fans. Wearing Ranger jerseys. Oh, and a probably more Islander fans than Panther fans, too
  18. I.. actually like Pitt's current script quite a lot and fits its identity very well. The original Pitt script's nice, no questioning that, but I feel the current one's better.
  19. That's part of the gag. The name keeps changing every few months or so. By the time this season is over the title of this thread will be lyrics from a Morrissey song or something. "I am the Panthers and I need to be loved just like everybody else does"
  20. Hey look! Phoenix Arizona possibly changing hands again! http://nypost.com/2014/10/02/spurned-islanders-buyer-to-purchase-coyotes-instead/
  21. ??Watch a game on TV at the Coliseum and you'll see what I'm talking about. The camera's off-center.
  22. I guess this would technically count for this thread because it is an actual relocation next year, but I find it humorous that the notorious left blue line instead of center ice camera at the Nassau Coliseum looks like it'll become a right blue line instead of center ice camera at Barclays Center.
  23. Well if the tarps are already accounted for by Party City, then they certainly need someone else on the curtains. THE JOJI YOGURT CURTAINS ABOVE LEXUS ICE AT BB&T CENTER
