Just a quick question to see what folks think. Not promising anything will happen, but it just could.
Which current team in the Alt History of the USFL do you think is a prime relocation candidate between 2008-2018?
For those who don't follow the league on my Alt History site, here are the current 26 teams, with Portland and 1 other coming in for 2008:
NE: Baltimore Blitz, Boston Cannons, New Jersey Generals, Philadelphia Stars, Washington Federals.
SE: Atlanta Fire, Jacksonville Bulls, Orlando Renegades, Tampa Bay Bandits (and a new team in either NC or VA)
SOU: Birmingham Stallions, Memphis Showboats, Nashville Knights, New Orleans Breakers
CEN: Chicago Machine, Michigan Panthers, Ohio Glory, Pittsburgh Maulers, St. Louis Skyhawks
SW: Arizona Wranglers, Denver Gold, Houston Gamblers, Texas Outlaws
PAC: Las Vegas Thunder, LA Express, Oakland Invaders, Portland Stags, Seattle Dragons
Las Vegas and Texas. Mid-2000s seems too early for Vegas to support a pro sports team, and Texas is just a bad franchise that rarely does anything of note and will be third-fiddle in the state if/once Dallas gets a team (or maybe Texas moves to Dallas )

Does San Jose count as sunbelt

Every big four team that holds the record for most regular season wins failed to win the championship that year
1906 Cubs (116-36) lost the WS to the White Sox who had the worst BA in the league
2001 Mariners (116-46) lost ALCS
2007 Patriots (16-0) lol
2015-16 Warriors (73-9) blew 3-1 lead in the finals
2022-23 Bruins (65-12-5) blew a 3-1 lead in the first round

Every time the Bruins choke I imagine how much sweeter it would be if they hadn't beaten the Canucks in 2011. Regardless, their misery is funny and I'm glad they found a choke they can never live down

One should not forget the "deathly fear" of milk that Levis seems to possess.
Seriously, though, as unfair and as unfortunate as it might be for Levis, the cluster of quirky behaviors and attitudes that he has been revealed to have are putting him at risk of being labeled a "crazy person" (to put it kindly) among decision makers throughout the NFL ... to the point that he might be taken with a shockingly late pick in the draft ... or even not be drafted by any NFL team at all.
Nobody in the front offices avoided drafting Levis because some mush-brained chicago beat writer put out one of the stupidest tweets ever made by a "journalist"

Torn between voting for Charlotte because it's by far the best looking, or Virginia because I like the idea of USFL teams in untapped markets

The issue with rebranding though is that it's planned in advance so the Rockets ended up winning right after the look was greenlit. Whoops.
Same thing happened to the Rams in 2000

Gonna give my honest opinion: the proposed eagle isn't very good. It's a generic triangle-shape, and like others said it has similarities to the Skyhawks logo. The current one has a lot of character, and I think it'd be crazy for a team that went 17-0 to totally change their logo just a couple years later. It reminds me of the Dolphins changing their logo to be more sleek and "modern", and losing all of its soul in the process.
Ohio's current logo is one of the best in your league. It has that 1980s rival major league feel to it, which is the aesthetic I associate with the USFL. Would hate to see it go.

even though no other pairing of Dallas-Houston teams in any of the other major sports gives a rat's ass about each other aside from being in the same division, but whatever.
Rangers fans absolutely hate the Astros, though to be fair I think Houston fans are more slightly annoyed than anything

For a program that is supposedly no longer necessary, why are teams still making Color Rash their third design?

Recent teams that have kept names:
- Nets (but does that count?)
- Raiders
- Chargers
But what's the last team to move to a far away city with no connection and keep the name aside from the Radier?. The Oilers changed after a few years. The Hornets, but they ultimately changed. The Stars (if you count that).
Could it be argued that aside from the Raiders (who I maintain are a bit of a different case) the last team to 100% keep the name on a relocation of more than a two-hour drive is the Colts?Rams

The Stags logo doesn't look like something that would have been designed in the late 2000s
