Nope, born and raised in SLC. I'm basing my opinion or thought off the video that posted in the thread. I do feel like strong leadership can counter some of the other issues, but with that said I don't know if they'd get a second shot if the Coyotes leave.

They won't. Arizona has been a disaster for the NHL, and after the Coyotes are finally put out of their misery, Hockey is pretty much done in the Sun Valley.

I can’t believe anyone would suggest or predict the A’s would change their name or colors upon moving to Vegas. The “Athletics” moniker is almost as old as the game itself and has survived three different cities and counting, and the green & gold is one of the most distinctive color combos in professional sports.

I guess you could argue that the colors are especially relevant to Oakland because of the flag, but then again, the team started using them while they were still in Kansas City.

They'll keep the A's name, colours and most of the branding that isn't Oakland specific, not just because of brand equity, but because Fisher and Kaval are too cheap to change anything.

You must have not been paying attention to the literal toilet that the coliseum is, that Oakland has been completely stonewalling them getting a new stadium there. Fan support isn’t the reason they are leaving, it’s the local government.

Oakland has been trying to get a stadium deal done, the major sticking point is that Fisher and Kaval want the city to pay for it and Oakland hasn't got the money to do it. Not that the A's owners wanted to stay in Oakland - if they did, they wouldn't have been sandbagging for the last two seasons in order to kill the fanbase in the city.

That would have made the most sense so, in a weird way that only makes sense with this club, it makes sense that they didn't do that.

Guess they were trying to make an impact by not making an impact.

The only thing I'd change is making the Stars on the Screagle copper and maybe losing the script.

Totally. I could live without the CAPITALS script, but that's a solid uni.

The hem trim script was removed from the white jersey for the 97-98 season.

The jersey still looks great without the script.

I won't lie, based off that video I wonder if the Coyotes were sold and moved out of town (to wherever) and Phoenix given an expansion team (no Browns deal, new name and everything) I wonder if hockey could work in Arizona? It seems like it could. But, they'd need a clean slate.

Giving The Sun Valley an expansion franchise straight after putting the Coyotes out of their misery would be absolutely asinine. That market is going to need time to recover from the damage done to it, if it ever recovers at all. And NHL aren't that dumb to give the area a new franchise that soon afterwards.

The San Jose Sharks were founded 15 years after the absolutely rotten Golden Seals left for halfway between Akron and Cleveland. After the Flames headed to Calgary, Atlanta got the Thrashers 19 years later.  Colorado got a relocated Nordiques 13 years after the Rockies left for Jersey. Even for Hockey mad Minnesota, 7 years passed between the North Stars going south and the arrival of the Wild.

You need to give markets time to recover.

I actually was wondering if the A's would change.  Obviously, I don't think they should, but that's for reason of history and such, and how much do people find that more important than flashy new stuff nowadays?  But the renderings for their home have featured the current A sooooo much.  I know that it's all tentative, but it seemed like such a major feature, including a large statue of it at the entrance.

My prediction is that the only change they will make is changing the script on their road and Kelly Green alt from Oakland to Las Vegas.

That’s a hot take for sure. I’d say the only gripe I have with the Cubs road look is the white trim, which is totally unnecessary.

Look how much cleaner the design is without the white (plus that sleeve patch!):

Shows just how much one change can make a big difference.

  8. I feel awful for Coyotes fans. Losing your team absolutley sucks and top level Hockey probably isn't coming back to the Sun Valley.

But on the other hand, this needs to end ASAP. The Coyotes right now are the living dead of North American Big 4 sports, stumbling and groaning their way through the desert while feasting on bad contracts, the one useful function the team serves.

Cutting the head off and filling the mouth with wafers is long, long overdue.

It's not just a new franchise that needs a clean slate, it's also whoever gets a relocated Coyotes. On moving, the team needs a rebrand as not only is the Coyotes idenity tied to Arizona (at least the orginal Kachina is), the Coyotes name is tainted beyond repair. When the team moves and wherever it ends up, the Desert Dog needs to be given the Old Yeller treatment and a new identity created.

New name, new uniforms, new identity.  After how good the identities for the Golden Knights and the Kraken turned out, I'm sure the NHL can nail it for a third time.

  10. Vice City is awesome, the colours are excellent and the crest is a thing of beauty.

The crest for Ottawa United is not good - like the crest for Quebec, it would be a nightmare to scale down and embroider because of the sheer amount of detail on one part of the crest (the skyline), and the spacing of the Fleur de lys is really bad. The bottom of it is way too close to the Peace tower, and it looks really awkward on the red and black. There is also way too much empty space either side of the Fleur de lys and beneath the Ottawa skyline.

To be honest, I would scrap the crest and start again, it just doesn't work. I would also use the Maple Leaf as a symbol, probably something like the maple leaf found on the current Ottawa flag and maybe find a way to incorporate the Fury flame into that.

If anything hold onto it for a fauxback uniform? Look forward to the rest

I originally planned for just the four uniforms (home, road, home alt and road alt), as thats the most any team really needs, but a fifth fauxback could be fun.

With that said, Vegas should put a spin on the A's identity, either with a flamingo mascot or different color scheme. Something just a little different.

If the A's move to Vegas and Fisher and Kaval continue to be cheap f***s, playing in their new taxpayer funded stadium that isn't filled anywhere near capacity, the White Elephant will be more than fitting.

  13. Bruins - This set is perfect except for lack of shoulder logos on home and road

Sabres - The home and the road aren't anywhere as nice as the classic Sabres look and the buffalo on it's own doesn't work. I dig the Goathead, but the Buffaslug needs salting.

Red Wings - Great set, no complaints

Florida - Nice home and change and adding blue to the chestband looks great, could do with shoulder logos though.

Montreal - The band broken by the side panels looks really ugly on the home, road and alternate and ruins the jerseys. Not sure why out of all the teams in the division that have a chestband, why you gave that treatment to the Habs.

Ottawa - Home, Road and Alternate are pretty good, could do with some hem/cuff striping and shoulder logos.

Tampa Bay - The design of the home and change are great, would love to see them in blue and black (with the lighter blue) which feels like a more Thunderstorm suitable combo than navy and black.

Maple Leafs - The home and road are good, the alternate is nice and the reverse retro looks good too.

I combined the Sox' general aesthetic with the Mariners' now classic navy & teal.

That (pretty nice colour) teal is a lot lighter than the one the Seattle uses, and equal parts green and blue on the RGB scale, The Northwest Green that the Mariners use is more green and while I like the bright teal, I do prefer the darker one for the Mariners as for me it gives more of a deep sea feeling.

    Newcastle home:

    newcastle-united-23-24-home-kit-4.jpg

With a new sponsor that nobody had heard of before now that is in absolutely no way, shape or form connected with the Saudi government.

It's going to be worn with white socks, which is a departure from the usual black socks sported by the Toon.

  16. The LA Angels look brilliant. One nitpick - the star on the shoulder logo looks like its over Anaheim. In this universe, assuming the Dodgers never moved to LA, wouldn't the Angels have stayed at Wrigley Field?

  17. Okay, lot to critique here, so here goes.

Carolina - The home looks great, not sure whats going on with the gap in the storm flag on the road, the black alternate could do with using the same shade/effect on the logos and numbers as the striping

Blue Jackets - three navy jerseys is one too many navy jerseys, and while I like the home and road, I don't like the recoloured Ohio flag logo which just looks weird. I'd make the Stinger Jersey white and change the hem and cuff striping to make sure the white and yellow don't touch.

NJ - This set is great.

Isles - The added teal to the home looks good. For the alternates, I would swap around the teal and the navy for the first alternate and use the same shade of navy for both jerseys.

Rangers - Home and Road are classic, the Lady Liberty is exactly what one of the RRs should have been.

Flyers - The home has far too much black on it and looks really top heavy, and I don't know why you swapped the black and white on the home to make it look more like the Broad Street Bullies when that team had the classic Flyers look, it looks very different from the 67-81 sweaters. Flipping the colours back would be a huge improvement and actually make the shirt look far more like the Broad Street Bullies. The road looks great though.

The alternate is really nice, as is the RR apart from the horrible 3D logo.

Pens - Home and Road are perfect. The alternates colours look weird and I'm pretty sure the shades the Pens first used were a lot more muted, and the gold triangle in the Penguins logo represents the Golden Triangle in Pittsburgh so it should really stay gold. The RR is much better, helped by keeping the gold in the logo.

Caps - This set is all great, no complaints here.

All in all, a lot more hits here than misses and a lot of good ideas. Nice work so far and looking forward to the Atlantic.

Next up is the club I support, Tottenham (Yikes, I know). Spurs are pretty consistent with plain white home kits, and the fact that their upcoming kit having white shorts is a really notable change tells you how similar they keep the look from year to year. So I went for a faint design reminiscent of France’s 2018 second kit. Nothing crazy here, but more than they’ve done with the past 3 kits

That is selling Spurs short, the team do change up their home kit on the regular and the past 3 kits have been pretty distinct, and the team have a tradition for innovation, being one of the first teams to use shadow stripes and being the team that kickstarted the move away from short shorts to much longer ones in 1991.

The Spurs shirt is good, but using the crest without the team name as Spurs usually do instead of the team name would improve it, and making the AIA logo not red (which is something Spurs should do IRL).

The Inter and Milan kits are good, but the crest is a little on the small side for the Inter shirt and the Milan kit could really do with matching cuffs and collars and the traditional white shorts.

The Frankfurt shirt looks way too busy with all those designs just laid down on top of each other, I like the Wolfsburg shirt but the crest is a bit small, as is the case with the Chelsea, Ajax and Inter kits.

Dortmund looks great, probably my fave out of all the designs here.

  19. If that jersey turns out to just be gold with the letters PGH on it, that will be quite the letdown.  There was a ton of inspiration they could have used, such as the vest jerseys, the We Are Family uniforms and several ideas they could of used when the Pirates didn't play in the legally required gold and black of a Yinzer big league team such as placket lettering. But instead, the team is just going to use a plain gold shirt.

I hope I'm proved wrong, but the Pirates CC looks to be the most boring CC yet, and probably will only be topped by teams who really don't want to take part and are perfectly happy with just the two uniforms (Detroit, Yankees)

  20. Fresno - The crest is good, though the lettering isn't well centered (look at the distance from the edges of the F and O in Fresno and the height of the F and final B in Football Club). The home could do with contrasting cuffs, collar and three stripes on the shirt, and both could do with bespoke patterns instead of adidas teamwear options.

Quebec - The main emblem could do without the crown, which due to its size and amount of details would be an absolute nightmare when it came to embroidery. I would either enlarge it and move it so it either sits on top of the crest or the R, simplify it, or just get shot of it entirely.  If you get rid of the crown, you could move the R further up and move the merlons and Fleur de Lys a bit higher up too, and perhaps make the Fleur de Lys a bit bigger.

The pinstripes on the shorts for the home are a bit much and the kit could do with some white trim.

Tijuana - Not sure why there are two dates on the logo, it only really needs one, but it's a good logo anyways.

The colour choice of red and cream is great, but I would pick one thickness of stripe for the home instead of one for the front and another for the sleeves and back, and have matching cuffs and collar. The change shirt is a bit of a mess with two different sizes of pixels on the cuffs and inside/back of the shirt, and on the front. Using just the smaller would look better.

Kaleidoscope - This is great. The only changes I would make is getting rid of the shadow pattern on the home and putting a gold outline around the UPS logo, and getting rid of the lighting effect on the club badge.

    The change is great.
