  1. ^ Thanks for the pic. The Sharks also played a few games in 1991-92 against the Ballard-era Maple Leafs; as with the Devils and Whalers, they altered their set the following season.
  2. Again, no pics, but the San Jose Sharks and Hartford Whalers met three times in the 1991-92 season; the only season that the first-year Sharks met the Whalers in their mostly-green set. The Whalers would change their uniform the next year.
  3. - Yet another video, from 10:34-10:45, the Namath-era Jets unis vs the 1st year Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their creamsicle glory (albeit in all-white).
  4. No pictures, but the Los Angeles Dodgers played the Arizona Diamondbacks for two series (April and July) @ then-Bank One Ballpark in the D-Backs first year in 1998, wearing their 1977-98 road uniforms (w/ the Dodgers script outlined in white and white-blue-white sleeve trim)....... the Dodgers changed the road set the next year.
  5. Another one to add: While I cannot find pictures (yet), the beltless pants/pullover jersey'd Cincinnati Reds met the Montreal Expos in their newer traditional-style togs in 1992; this is the only season those matchups happened.
  6. Also odd about this matchup, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that the Rams are using regular block numbers, when they ended up using a different typeface a year later. Furthermore, the Seahawks are the home team here, playing outdoors at Husky Stadium. Here's a link to the Getty page with a few more Seahawks/Rams photos. I'm not sure what i miss most...those old Seahawks sets, that particular iteration of the Rams' sets (and at any rate the gold pants in general)...or the days before exclusive apparel/uniform contracts and the subsequent proprietary templating/fabric epidemic.(Coincidentally, both those sets were produced by Puma that year. Funny little coincidence.) Thanks for the find. The 1988 set had pant stripes, no bolts. OK, slight change: A slight derivative of their look first introduced in 1988.
  7. Two years before their move to the NFC (and getting new uniforms); the Seahawks (in the 1980s-era set) met the St. Louis Rams (year one of the 'modern' set). I have yet to find a pic of this.
  8. From 2006, the last year of the 1988 set for the Chargers, and year two for the current set for the Cardinals.
  9. - Even more video: The Seahawks in the last year of their classic look vs the NY Giants in their fauxbacks.
  10. - Yet another video, it's the 1992 Expos (in their uniforms they'd wear for the remainder of their time in Montreal, which was introduced the season of this clip) vs the racing stripe Mets (they'd switched to button-down jerseys by this time; the uniform set was on its way out then, but it is kind of a vestige of the 1980s, so it merits mentioning here).
  11. ^ To be fair, Elway did win the Broncos the two SB titles in the Nikefied uniforms.......
  12. - It may be video, but it's the Canucks (Orca style) and the L.A. Kings (Gretzky uniforms); the teams met a few times that year (1997-98) before the Kings changed their style the following season.
  13. The return of the pants, indeed! They are alright, but put a white-orange-white striping pattern across the sides, and it looks even better.
  14. I love the pullover jersey look in baseball. I really don't know why it didn't catch on, it looks cool, and as Paul Lukas said, it makes sense from a practical standpoint.
