  1. It doesn't really matter how it gets to the point where a guy is disrespecting arena crew and pushing ladders out of the way just so he can do some silly-ass "I need to hit 10 in a row because I neeeeeeeed to" ritual, all that matters is that they got there, and he thought his 10 free throws were more important than people trying to do their job. He's not a POS, but he was on that one night. I've never even heard of the Sixers guy, but his conduct is pretty irrelevant. Once the lights go on and they start putting the chairs up on the tables, it's time to go home.
  2. Sublimation basically just means that the fabric is dyed rather than a design being woven in, printed on, stitched on, etc. Has nothing at all to do with colors. It's a process.
  3. Huh. According to this you're right (at least about the Cubs - I coulda sworn they still had the Old Style.) You can tell they're simply printed on since they're barely visible on the inside. This style sucks. (game worn) https://www.ebay.com/itm/385234316978?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=385234316978&targetid=1262749490862&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=9007323&poi=&campaignid=14859008593&mkgroupid=130497710760&rlsatarget=pla-1262749490862&abcId=9300678&merchantid=663979633&gclid=CjwKCAiAmuKbBhA2EiwAxQnt78kQkH6xCmN3TA0hq_tqm5-VTOnBs7CLiba63fZL__lUzVXIhBjGNhoCklUQAvD_BwE
  4. I always thought that the zig-zag style stripes were woven, vs the lighter ones which were printed - no? Also, zig-zag seems to be more affiliated with raglan templates vs set-in - if you look at the White Sox, Phillies ('92 on), they're printed and lighter. It's easier to see on the pre-CoolBase jerseys. If you look at Cubs and Yankees and pre-92 Phillies, they were woven / zig-zag. Is there a non-raglan team that uses zig-zag stripes? I don't think I've seen one.
  5. So Giannis has a bad day at the office and decides that he's just going to hang out and practice free throws while the arena crew is trying to break down the place for a changeover (and it's late and they just want to go home.) Not only once, but twice. He seems like a nice guy, but this wasn't a good moment.
  6. Got it - just read about the Washington thing and it mentioned that rule. Never knew that. Speaking of Reid, just saw that he was sentenced a few weeks ago and could possibly be paroled in less than a year. Disgusting.
  7. Is it a league rule that the team can't have alcohol on the plane? This guy is an idiot for getting hammered then driving rather than taking a cab or uber, but is the team really going to get in trouble if there wasn't any shenanigans on the flight other than guys having some drinks?
  8. Is it a camera thing, or are the pinstripes lighter than they are on other uniforms? They seem way more subtle than the ones on other gray uniforms like the Padres gray-ish ones.
  9. Yes - and I prefer a more formal look. I don't think sports teams should have "casual Friday". It could be fairly argued that a colored jersey is just that, but I'd still prefer a look where one part of it doesn't look like it was clearly designed to be worn with a different top.
  10. So there's no throwback in the set? Seems like an odd choice considering how popular it seemed to be.
  11. I disagree. IMO pinstriped pants should not be worn with non-pinstriped tops. It's like wearing a solid blazer with pinstriped-suit pants, or like wearing your pinstriped suit but taking the jacket off. The former is a gross mismatch, the latter is casual. It's a minor thing, but just my preference that teams with solid alts wear them exclusively with solid pants. That being said - pinstriped pants shouldn't have piping or other striping going down them, unless it's part of a more unified thing like the old Mets and Phillies full racing stripes (and even then it's questionable.)
  12. And they've never lost anyone to a car accident due to unpassable roads when the person was just trying to get to their minimum-wage job in the stadium. And is the community safer with intoxicated drivers trying to navigate feet of snow after the game? It's one thing when it's light flurries and fluffy snow, but at some point it becomes dangerous for the employees and fans, whether they realize it or not. Anyone who's only thinking about the players and the product on the field ("these players are soft! In my day they'd play through it!") is extremely short sighted. No person should risk their life to sell chicken fingers in freezing weather for minimum wage when no non-essential people would be expected to be on the roads or outside of their homes. (the flip side of that is that those minimum wage people are going to miss a week of being paid, and that's not insignificant - but it's better than taking unnecessary risks.)
  13. Bryce Harper likely out till at least June depending on how his surgery goes. They don’t know if he’ll need full TJ until they’re in there, but it’s sounding very likely that’s what he’s getting. if their defense didn’t blow so much I’d say to hold off on surgery and just keep being the DH, but they really need him back in RF to allow the butchers to rotate at DH.
  14. The stupid swoosh is bigger than some of the letters. Looks absurd on the white one.
  15. That makes sense, but I think it’s fine in football for two reasons: 1) we’re only (in this case) talking about scoring plays and turnovers, which are thoroughly reviewed anyway , and 2) not talking about subjective calls like looking for holding or PI that require 500 angles and are a in gray area, but a blatant 15-yd facemask should be callable. It wouldn’t add any time to the process. At some point, common sense and fair play have to be considered. Also - the tight end is who was facemasked was likely looking at an all-pro bid, but will now miss most of the rest of the season due to a significant shoulder injury suffered on that very play.
  16. He doesn’t sugar coat it, that’s for sure.
  17. I would say it’s analytics, but I’ve seen Hail Marys work - I’ve never seen the lateral play work outside of Cal/Stanford. with the Hail Mary, you also get the benefit of a potential PI call, so I don’t get why it’s not done anymore.
  18. really, when they were reviewing that do you think the replay guys were like “uh oh”? I get that if it’s not reviewable then it’s not changeable, but it’s absurd that it’s not reviewable. We have the technology to get these things right, so let’s get them right. I’m very glad I’m not a gambler. And there should be a difference between “not challengeable” vs “not reviewable”. Turnovers / scores aren’t challengeable, but they’re automatically reviewed. So they should be able to catch and overturn stuff like that.
  19. Schtick aside, that was the worst officiated game I’ve seen since the Steelers beat the seahawks. The better team tonight won, but should not have. The facemask fumble (that can’t be overturned?) Ending the game on a weak AF roughing the passer penalty where he was tapped? Without hyperbole, the Eagles should have won by double digits despite Washington playing very hard and having a great game plan. it’s actually a shame for Washington because they played very well, very hard, and we’re well coached, but the referees overshadowed anything they did.
  20. That's a fair point that I hadn't considered. They only reason the 2017 team got a parade was because it was their first one. Now it's just like... "whatever". Oh, you went 19-1? That's cute. They should gather at the art museum and get pats on the head, and a participation trophy instead of the Lombardi trophy.
  21. How could you call it a success? I mean, a Super Bowl is cool and all, but this game ruins the season no matter what happens the rest of the way. Super Bowl win, big parade, whatever. Bad referee calls in week 10 is ALL I'll remember from this season.
