  1. Gonna be fun seeing the intersection of the two BFiFB this February. In the unlikely event that the gods deny the Super Bowl LVII Champion Apparent Philadelphia Eagles their throne, I’m not gonna be mad to see the mafia celebrate.
  2. That would be bad because the second blue pants would either have to be solid blue or have an orange outline of a blue stripe. I think a better solution* might be to drop the navy side panel on the orange jersey (or replace it with navy piping), and change the side panel on the white jersey to orange, then drop the white-blue pants altogether. Then all jerseys would have orange sides that would work with the white-orange pants and the navy-orange pants. *the best solution would be to burn all existing stock of jerseys and pants and start from scratch, but I'm working under the assumption that they're just not going to do that.
  3. That's not a good reference at all considering those teams were named waaaaaaay before branding and merchandising was even a care in anyone's mind, and before teams even (probably) had trademarks on any kinds of design elements.
  4. Gray and orange is a wonder autumnal color combo, which, when mixed with brown, is just the perfect combination for a fall sport. I'm certainly not a "gray facemasks or die" guy by any stretch, but the Browns looked a lot better with the gray than the current brown or even the old white. Honestly I'd like to see them incorporate gray into their uniforms in a very small way, be it in the striping or somehow else. Maybe even gray pants. I get that this latest redesign was a "reset", but if they ever tinker again, adding gray could look really good.
  5. Easier said than done. I'd like to see one of the talented designers on these boards take a shot at making a version of this that can scale and look clear when embroidered and used in digital applications. I think the little players would have to go for sure.
  6. The Texans and pre-2020 Patriots templates would work very well for a lot of teams that are struggling with shoulder hoops. They're actually very versatile templates that can be manipulated to produce all kinds of good looks. I think it'd work fine for the Panthers (though really all they need to do is drop shoulder numbers IMO) and maybe even a team like the Colts (just keep the center part the same color as the jersey, and use the outer trim to produce the 'hoop' effect.
  7. gold should not be more than simply trim for the Ravens. The numbers are too much
  8. That would mean a 20-week regular season, plus a 5-week playoff (including the bye before the Super Bowl. There's simply no way to fit that in to any kind of reasonable time frame. Games should simply never start before Labor day, and going into March is just too much - especially if you're also a baseball fan going to sprint training or just getting into baseball mode since the regular season seems to start in March more often these days.
  9. If this was the pre-Nike fabrics, it would look even better. At least the Bucs. The flat purple actually looks decent on the Ravens.
  10. I'm not arguing with you. I'm on your side. I chose to pay, but I understand not wanting to because every other non-porn site in the universe has found the middle ground between charging for memberships and aligning with advertisers that hijack your browser and hold you captive, rendering the site literally unusable. I'll never understand what's so different about this forum than any other one I belong to that necessitates the types of ads that CC allows.
  11. No chance the Eagles wear anything but their standard home jersey. Bills will be in white.
  12. It's worse than porn sites. I'm not sure what's so special about this site that the ads here have to be worse than the ads on literally any other site in the country - including porn. The ad-free option is the only way to go. I've been enjoying it since the day I got it, as it also re-enabled mobile use, which (as has been mentioned) crashes all the time. I know we're all used to getting things for free, but nothing is truly free, and the $7/month is well worth it to me to use the site. It's unusable unless you go for it.
  13. And it's not like there's a choice. If it's Houston vs New York and series is tied 3-3 and they're yelling "we want Houston", then maybe it's different. But it was actually Houston that they were going to play (I know it technically wasn't official, but it was essentially a done deal.) And it's fans. Come the F on. It's harmless.
  14. This is flat out insanity. Insane insanity. The Eagles have been flagged for an abnormally-high amount of OPI in the past two years, because they were trying to get away with disguising what are essentially pick plays that ensured the receiver would catch the ball and get a lot of yards after catch. While I obviously hate the calls, if they weren't made, then a team could score without any impedance and the game would absolutely suck. I think PI - along with roughing the passer - should only be called on the field if it's so obvious that someone's ankles or neck has snapped. Otherwise hold the flag and let the booth look at it and call down. The on field refs have proven that they simply can't officiate a fair game, and they constantly leave doubt in mind that games are truly on a level playing field. We've seen replay guys be equally incompetent, but that's much more rare. Game-changing calls should all be reviewed, with common sense prevailing.
  15. I don't know. If I'm the QB of one of these teams, and the top pick is going to be a QB that takes my job, I'm probably not going to sell out for the team to win. Same for a player at any other position who's job is at stake if certain players are drafted.
  16. Huh? You shouldn't make assumptions. I've never heard that besides simply that they're the opponent so let's rally against them. I don't think a single person is underestimating who the Phillies are facing.
  17. given the financial commitment needed, I guarantee Snyder was involved to an extent. But regardless, whoever selected Wentz should be fined immediately given his history of being dumped by competent franchises, his post-2017 reputation for being a selfish locker room presence, and his other interests which have become his entire identity, ahead of football or anything else. I genuinely think that he doesn't care at all about football and uses it simply as a vehicle for other things. He's also a guy that never adjusted from the anonymity of North (or South?) Dakota and can't handle himself in places where anyone is watching (if Indianapolis and DC qualify in that category.)
  18. The other drawback of the condensed series is that it puts a drain on pitching staffs. This was one of the harder postseasons to navigate as a manager, because you couldn't really ride your 1 and 2 (and 3 if you have a good one) and I can't recall seeing so many bullpen games in championship series'. Usually a team's loser players just kinda disappear in the postseason, but I think pretty much everybody - even some total trash jabroni named Brad Hand - has had to make an appearance or two.
  19. That's a cool helmet, but that effect is much easier to pull off when it's two darkish colors rather than black and gold.
  20. Is Ron Rivera really on the hot seat? I don't pay attention to the 32s much (other than to LOL at Wentz' failures) but I thought he was still a well-respected solid HC.
  21. If San Diego had won yesterday, they'd be playing in California tonight. So no travel day between games 5 and 6, which made it impossible to postpone the game, which otherwise should have happened.
  22. One thing I wanted to complain about but held off on because the Phillies ended up winning, was that this compressed playoff schedule is terrible on the players. The weather in Philadelphia was miserable yesterday, and there were puddles on the field. JT Realmuto was literally squatting in a puddle, and Seranthony Dominguez - who threw all of 2 wild pitches all year - threw 3 in the 7th inning alone, and the pitchers were constantly exchanging balls. There were also two lengthy delays due to Padres players (who were very clearly trying to stall the game to get Wheeler out... and that's not fandom speaking, that legitimately looked like their strategy) went back to the dugout to re-apply grip to their bats and change into dry gloves. It was not safe for any of the players, and a catcher shouldn't have to squat in a puddle. Not only that, but when the grounds crew came out to apply the Diamond Dry and rebuild the mound, they did it in between half innings - meaning that the Padres got the benefit of pitching from a solid mound, catching on a solid plate area, and fielding on dry-ish dirt. Then by the time the Phillies took the field, it was crap again until they cleaned it up for the Padres. I don't know what would have happened had the conditions been perfect (but let's be honest, Zack Wheeler probably goes 8 ), but since they had no off day between cross country trips and had to get the game in, it was a sloppy mess that put players at risk and had a direct impact on the score of the game, and the teams weren't on a level playing field (literally.) I get why the schedule was compressed, but that simply doesn't work when playoff games are on the east coast, and it shouldn't be at the expense of safety and the integrity of the game. Phillies won so at the end of the day it doesn't matter this time... but it might matter next time.
