  1. Doug Pederson claimed that both of his coordinators were coming back after 2019. Then the next day he announced they were fired, because Howie and Lurie fired them. They allowed Pederson to sell them on internal promotions, who they also fired after 2020. They gave him one more chance to pick people from their list or come up with someone they approved of, and he put his foot down and said his OC and DC would be two guys promoted from within - so they fired him. After they trusted Sirianni with picking the DC (for whom he basically asked Vic Fangio "hey, who do you like?") and promoting the OC from QB coach (which the front office endorsed and was a foregone conclusion because he's had a tight relationship with Hurts from when Hurts was in HS, and on paper, it made sense), he's done. They will absolutely provide him with the list, and if he doesn't like it and can't sell them on his choices, he'll be fired. It's just a matter of who, other than a guy just desperate for his first crack at being a HC (which was what Pederson and Sirianni were) would ever want a job where you can get fired the year after barely losing a Super Bowl and still making the playoffs. It's a different level of pressure that only a handful - if that - of other coaches experience.
  2. I love how he preaches like he's some guy that's won like 10 Super Bowls and knows all about winning, when he's won one Super Bowl and hasn't been back in 13 seasons. He's not some untouchable legend. And (caption obvious here) he causes half the distractions he's saying they can't have. Complete and total idiot. I feel bad for fans of his. Not because he's letting them down... but because he's not. You act like it's his decision. He has no say in the coordinators. Howie and Lurie will give him a list and say to pick from it, and if he disagrees, he'll be gone just like Pederson. It wouldn't shock me if they've already made their decision about him and he's gone no matter what (barring a Super Bowl appearance, and lol the Ass Birds certainly aren't doing that.) My posts may sound like hyperbole, but if anything, they're underselling what's been going on.
  3. Ron Rivera - Wacked Arthur Smith - Wacked On the clock: Bill Belichick, Nick Sirianni
  4. I'm mid-40s and grew up being used to pullovers in all youth leagues, most high schools, many colleges (the iconic Stanford ones come to mind), and of course, the MLB teams that were wearing them - which was quite a few. I don't particularly understand any functional advantage of button downs other than being easier to put on without messing up your hair (if that's something anyone cares about) but aesthetically, I hate when pinstriped teams have trim, and pullovers necessitate that, at least at the neck. Also, (this is a minority opinion) traditional left-chest logos and lower-left numbers look odd on pullovers. I know it's a normal thing in soccer and even in baseball, but it looks odd to me. The Toronto pullovers made sense.
  5. Ron Rivera wacked. Probably time for an offseason thread.
  6. Since there's no TBD on the Bucs and Eagles jerseys, are those colors confirmed? I'm not sure where they would have been confirmed yet, and usually there's a TBD for anything that's unknown.
  7. I guess I just want them shot in the chest instead of the face, so they can have an open casket, unlike how they did Tommy in Goodfellas.
  8. Wasn’t he stopped on a shove shortly before? Before the one where he kinda leaped?
  9. it’s a weird play in that he’s never actually going to be “down”, so at some point they have to make the forward-progress call. I wanted the Bills to get it, but objectively it coulda gone either way and wasn’t a bad call. I do think it’s funny that nobody can consistently pull off the Shove, yet the announcers talk about it like it’s unstoppable because it’s the only play in the Ass Birds’ playbook that always works. Why can’t everyone do it?
  10. Oh... I only had it on in the background so was just going by the audio. Yeah, it was a joke. Nearly every Miami "home" game is like that. Just like several other teams that are merely destinations for cold-weather fans to visit in the winter. Can't feel bad for the Miami fan base one bit. Meanwhile, Winston is a complete idiot... but he's right - there's nothing the coaches can do about this stuff, and no repercussions (emphasis mine): "Jamaal led the [Detroit Lions] in touchdowns last year and he didn't have one this year. ... Just as players, you just love your buddy so much that ... sometimes, in this league, ain't nothing a coach can do, no matter who it is. Players sometimes want to take care of their guys, and coaches end up having to deal with that wrath sometimes."
  11. Winning is not an option. I just want the Ass Birds to lose by a somewhat non-disrespectful score.
  12. Good on the Bills - would have looked really bad to lose a game at home for the division. Pulling for Cleveland or them in the AFC.
  13. By "streaming" I assume you mean "add-on" since "cord cutters" are essentially using a streaming platform for anything. I hope the Ass Birds get the streaming game so most people can't watch the massacre.
  14. Jalen Hurts' finger. Kinda gross, but not the worst dislocation we've seen. Like he's said all season when asked by reporters, says he doesn't discuss injuries because that sets up excuses and if you're talking about injuries you shouldn't be playing. I'll give him that - he does set a good example and will never make excuses. He likely require surgery, but will be able to play through it. It's a likely rupture of the "volar plate" (says the former Sixers orthopedist, who occasionally contributes to the post-game.)
  15. With the flat Nike fabric, white over pewter is their better look since the red over pewter looks way darker than the previous version of it with shiny pants. I'm hoping for the first photo - including the score. That's closer than it'll probably be.
  16. Yes, for the 2025 season, but would have had to file the paperwork back in (probably) April, so unless it's already planned and being worked on, it ain't happening.
  17. The coach yelling at opposing fans makes him an immature baby. It doesn't say anything about the team being arrogant. This team, even when they were winning last year, is the least arrogant team.
  18. Giants are smashing them. Destroying Hurts (who's finger did pop out, but he's back in.) I can't even blame this on the injuries, because the guys that are playing should be good enough to beat the Giants. But they're getting bullied, slapped around, and kicked in the nuts by a team lead by Tyrod Taylor. This game isn't even competitive. Eagles coaching staff shouldn't even get the pleasure of a winter trip to Tampa. Leave them in New York
  19. OMG, Hurts' finger may have popped out. Now he's in the tent. Unreal.
  20. Bunch of sorry-ass sucks. Commies are actually trying to help them out, then they decide to go for it on 4th and 3 on their own side of the field, with their three best players out, and Hurts throws it to nobody. I freakin' hate this version of the Eagles as much as I've ever hated any. Previous ones have just had bad players. This version is coached by complete morons. Players don't even seem like they care one bit that they could get the #2 seed. Losers. Complete and total losers. No bs - TB should win by 17 points.
  21. These jagoffs are now playing today without: AJ Brown (possible serious injury) Devonta Smith (ankle injury, not sure about next week) DeAndre Swift (tummy ache, probably back next week) Sydney Brown (carted off today. Just a rookie and not an impact guy.) So three 1,000-yard guys might be out. One is looking for sure out, one is looking questionable, and I imagine Swift's tummy ache is fine... if that's all it is. EDIT: if TB loses next week, they need to fire everyone.
  22. That's two leg injuries for the Eagles on this crap Met Life turf. JFC. I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell when an injury is due to the turf or just coincidence, but they had discussed sitting players due to the turf (and meaninglessness of the game) and now they're paying for not doing that.
