....... Back to the AFC for a team that relocated from Florida because of a terrible tragedy involving the chairman's family and so Jacksonville was empty apart from the Bulls which outsold the Sharks at the time and the new chairman decided fresher waters was needed so he personally funded the acquisition of a site in Virginia Beach and moved the team there to become...

VIRGINIA SHARKS

Soon as I started on this one, I couldn't really stop and this is probably one of my best pieces that I did.... so going back to various upon various past concepts of this previously located team gave me an idea with the new logo of said team... what if you use the PROPER baby blue and kept the current gold and create something unique that was ever made... and let's say you might like this one.

Because :censored: Spanos we're going back to...!

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
AIL4fc9qSKDfja-5W_fVh_oTAP3GHf10Q8yXXSdV

Behold! The San Diego Chargers as if they survived to their current build AND if they weren't relocated by a bumbling buffoon who's family holds concept for a once proud city.

That lighting logo across the shoulders on the front is brilliant. The only minor gripe that I have is that the logo on the back above the NOB makes it feel clustered.

I will go back in asap and make a small change that you notice and probably make it a collar logo.

In fact there is a supplemental thread I want to do that expands on San Diego if people want.

In face per @GrayJ12 suggestion... I have done the minor change as he pointed out.

AIL4fc9i0NUwDVs7IAQ1lHMdCwwYD7fhy9pB5xZ3

If the logo isn't perfectly aligned then I do apologise. I had to download Inkscape for my laptop and work on that because of hospital tests and such so not used to a mouse at the minute.

However I was a bit taken aback by how most reacted to the Virginia Sharks... I felt the shaulders were a bit too 90's and maybe influenced by the World Football League's design of uniform.... if anyone that isn't neo prankster doesn't like the uniform then it would of been lost to some people.

Also totally jawsome, I had Street Sharks on the head when I did them.

Normal business will slowly resume... the NFC San Diego Chargers thanks you for your support.

And the timeplan for this project is written... so this timeline for this NFL is going to be nuts.

Phase 1: National Football League and Athletic Football League will merge into a 32 team league by around 80's or so... 30 teams initially join and then a 2 team expansion (Seattle and Tampa Bay) will join to round up a 8 division, 4 team league.

Phase 2: The 90 expansion will then happen adding 4 teams creating a 36 team league with 6 division, 6 team league..... another project would then merge creating Phase 3:

Phase 3: The adding of 4 teams to this NFL will return the league to 8 divisions but with 5 teams in each league.

Phase 4: 8 expansion teams will be placed to create the 'modern' sports profession.... to go to 48.

-------

AND I WROTE EVERYTHING SO ITS GOING TO BE NUTS.

48 teams?

Hopefully some XFL identities make an appearance (2001, 2020 or 2023, your pick)

If you remember Nfl 3.0 then I did the normal 32 with 16 expansions in 2 8 team waves…. That was an easier thread to work with.

Update to the expansion plan, there's a version 2 now.

initially there was going to be 16 to 16 in NFL and AFL but I rechecked and made errors... so phase 1 will be 18 teams in the NFL and 12 in the AFL, 4 teams in the original Athletic will be added later on in Phase 2.... they will take the places of the 90's expansion teams that will be bumped to late 90's/early 2000's for Phase 3's 40 team expansion.

ANYWAY! Enough about expansions for now... this is a team thread and we're carrying on with the next addition in the list.... the infamous Orange Crush themselves.

DENVER BRONCOS

AIL4fc8YgdA3NxOfBOuLViEN560F59UFJEvpo7G5

The Denver Broncos instead of being a AFL stable in our timeline was an expansion team introduced in the NFL alongside the commissional relocation pick that Dallas got after the Texans high tailed it to Kansas but it was the team's unique Orange font that was new that drew fans to them.... when expansion happens then they were moved into the AFC because of location mostly.

This was a combination of old and new.... the old Orange Crush uniforms were a great deal of pride and still are however the newer logo and sleeves represented how the team was able to get their two Super Bowls.... the Navy was reverted to the previous Royal Blue but the current Orange was kept which is fair.

Next up on the list... in the words of CLEFAN from the USFL merger thread.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

HOUSTON OILERS

AIL4fc-Hcwouwy7UYAHnoyaF5fTNrL9Rp1BOFzgz

Houston has the Oilers, they have never left... they have been around since the 60's as an expansion team for the NFL rather than the AFL but the point stands.

They are like the Raiders... why stay away from a winning design especially since you don't have to worry about relocation because that never happened at all, in fact huge Oiler Stadium is one of the nicest places to go on game day.

I feel like such a heel for that… 😣 I’m glad you could find some comedic use for that exchange.

And next up on this thread.... the black hole.

LOS ANGELES RAIDERS
AIL4fc-xRFzS8XrAp3SUqpuz6qfdc9U1VDQgvP3A

They always exist, no matter what timeline you get, the Raiders exist.... instead of going to Vegas, they went back to Los Angeles as it was planned before Spanos threw a :censored:ing wrench into the plans.

The Raiders hate everyone, they hate the Chargers, they hate the Rams and especially they hate the 49ers.

Well i'm out of the hospital... and good thing too because I was able to quickly whip this up for the next team in the series... and they are a real buzz.

CHARLOTTE HORNETS

AIL4fc_LANNAiPz2ecruDQH3h2DWXaeDxP_Ch6rn

The Hornets remained as traditional as they could of been for roughly 25 years with the same yellow, black and white that they were able to get out... however eventually the Hornets moved onto their honey gold and was able to keep the logo the same.

They are mostly known for inventing the unitard look.

Next up is a team that is a powerhouse in the 70's, destroys teams in the unrelenting cold winds of Minnesota... yep it's time for that powerhouse of the NFC.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

AIL4fc_fWxVCybLlrgrdrko5aSoPf7FPZ2P45lci

The Vikings in the 70's were a terrifying colossus that rivalled Pittsburgh's Steel Curtain and in the NFL before the merger counted as titles.... they literally POWERED their way to 2 official championship wins and that has been the staple ever since.

However the Vikings were cursed with one thing when the NFL and the AFL happened and that is mediocrity... that mediocrity is present in today's Vikings... nothing spells meh like Kurt Cousins who they should of tossed away a while ago but they couldn't do it because they had to pay for a stadium that isn't cold.

I mean look at the Vikings now, they are in that bedrock of tradition that puts them with Green Bay, Chicago and Detroit... anything that deviates the fans will complain so here... the board did what the Bucs did and that was revert... essentially the Vikings are the innovators of the throwback look.

Next up a side that hasn't really changed much in real life, I went into detail in the USFL thread that there are certain uniforms that are great and others are cancerous... especially the Eli Mannings.

And with that we come to the dynasty that is...

THE NEW YORK GIANTS

AIL4fc8OamZAGkJ15nscqBAbTLYIH8cvqfeXkNgO

The Giants are a side that really doesn't need to explain much.... they are New York, they have won Super Bowls, they have gone through the lot but their uniforms work as a classic base so with that I decided to modernise the pre Lawrence Taylor uniforms but also give it a large red line as it's established to be structually a pillar of the community.

Without the Cowboys here, the Giants get to have fun for a change.
