Calgary Flames named Team of the Year

Recommended Posts

As every year, the CP & BN name a team of the year-voted on by Sports editors & broadcasters across Canada-and they vote on Canadian based & National teams -this year it's the Flames for their amazing playoff run.

So that's cool to a Flames fan, and great for the team--congrats--Now if they only can get back to playing!

(I can't believe I didn't post this sooner--I knew about it earlier today-well earlier Wednesday)

There's a story currently on the Flames homepage...

The Flames also won the award in 1989 when they won the Cup--although that year they were expected to challenge for it.

Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

I'd be surprised to ever see a Canadian Stanley Cup team, whether they won or not, not win this award.

American teams have dominated the NHL over the last decade and it's nice to see a small market team Canadian team advance to the Finals.
