Mac the Knife
It's the same ownership group, and they've indicated that the Warriors would be the team's name, so it would appear so, yes.

You can't tell me your going to get more than 10,000 SLC fans to go to these games. the_cynic
That's pretty lame. Denny Haslam didn't comment on the situation. Seems a little fishy to me. Looks like there's something going on here that the public doesn't know about. Mac the Knife
Yeah - arena contract negotiations which the team wants to keep private, at least for now. From the gist of the article the Warriors would be in violation of their existing lease if they made any formal announcements about using the other facility. Gary
So I goes the whole idea of the Washington Warriors team is definatley dead, huh? they're not dead yet, I do understand that the people of the Utah Warriors will fight for the name of the Warriors from Washington, but I know Snyder won't give it up to easily
Mac the Knife
Well Snyder doesn't have any real right to it, even within the AFL. He never so much as attempted to exercise his option to activate an AFL team, he has no voting rights to my knowledge in the league's BoD, so he doesn't have much to stand on in this area.
