the_cynic
IMO the ironic thing about the Mets logo is that it is too detail with all that bridge & skyline, yet when you take the seams off, it seems to be too empty.LT They could always replace the skyline with the Chyrsler building? Or how about a combination of classic buildings in NYC? Empire, Chrysler, Flatiron, Brooklyn Bridge (not a building I know). Gothamite
Yeah, I still think if you're going to lose the stitching, you really have to redesign the whole thing. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
joebass123
gotta say it's not bad, but i like it much better with the stitching.About the Mets logo: Designed by sports cartoonist Ray Gatto, it is in the shape of a baseball with orange stitching. According to MLB.com, "the bridge in the foreground symbolizes that the Mets, in bringing back the National League to New York, represent all five boroughs". It's not just a skyline in the background, but has a special meaning. At the left is a church spire, symbolic of Brooklyn, the borough of churches. The second building from the left is the Williamsburg Savings Bank, the tallest building in Brooklyn. Next is the Woolworth Building. After a general skyline view of midtown comes the Empire State Building. At the far right is the United Nations Building.i believe this is my first post, but i've been a member for about 5 or 6 moths. this is the best forum i've ever seen. www.joseflorenz.com
