Kobe goes ballistic on Odom

I only brought up Iverson in defense of Kobe in terms of everybidy calling him a 'ball hog'. Like I said, I don't see term 'ball hog' mentioned in every post with Iversons name in it.

They might still be good in certain skills, but wouldn't it be great to see Ray Lewis or Tie Domi looking to shut their big mouths?

3) For all of Iverson's faults, there is the fact that no one was ever going to confuse him for Mr. Squeaky-Clean, the heir apparent to Jordan for being the face of the league. Better yet, AI may very well be the face of the league, but the league is not too keen on that fact. The fall from grace of Kobe Bryant from marketer's dream to avoid-at-all-costs to slowly being re-accepted as a viable marketable figure puts any of Iverson's episodes to shame. After all, the media already had him in the gutter, so how can he get any lower? Kobe had a pedestal from which to fall.

Exactly. (Though I disagree that AI may be the face of the league). People hated AI, so their view of him will remain the same. The reason why it seems like Kobe's getting thrashed more is because he was built up so high.

At the end, it all comes down to winning. If AI leads Philly to the Finals, then (like 2001), he'll be loved for a brief time. His 40 shots a game will be looked at as him leading his team. Same thing for Kobe. Remember in 2003, when he had nine straight 40 point games? The Lakers won most of them, so it was okay.

Back towards the subject, Kobe's apparently angry and surprised about his suspension. I wonder what he thought he would get after he elbowed a guy in the neck? On purpose? He's not MJ (certainly not these days), and the league's not going to completely turn the other way.

Tie Domi is the biggest waste of the NHLs valuable space. Nothing made me happier than when that Flyers fan hoped over the glass and attacked his dumb ass. Its really hard for me to decide who id rather kick in the nuts with a steel toed shoe, Kobe or Tie Dumbass

Revisionist history, bucfan.

The guy didn't "hop" over the boards. He was mouthing off at Domi for squirting him with a water bottle, and the glass gave way beneath his fat . He then found himself in a small confined space with a man who gets paid millions of dollars to kick the crap out of far bigger, more athletic men than this duffle bag. He realized the mess he was in and turtled. He didn't attack Domi; he just couldn't haul his fat can back to his seat fast enough.
