I must be the only one who is ashamed to see SDSU just... IMO, chicken out from what they had.

Why not keep the red helmet with the black airbrushing on the edge? It was innovative as far as helmets go. The jerseys weren't the main feature, but why?

The Aztecs have nearly always gone the wordmark route for their helmets.

I love the new look, the unis, etc. I'll miss that cool gold stripe design on the collar but I guess I'll just have to let it go. The rest of the look more than makes up for the loss.

Speaking of loss, how long do fans hang on the wonderful new unis before they notice they still can't seem to win the MWC? A bowl game. A single bowl game. That's all we ask.

I think SDSU should go with just the wordmark. And maybe they could add some gold highlights to the uniforms so it doesn't seem so out of place on the helmets, and maybe a little red on the pants. But those are small gripes for a uniform that looks so great.

Those uniforms bring back good and bad memories of when the BYU-SDSU game was the game of the year in the WAC. The 52-52 tie in Ty Detmer's final regular season game in '91. The game in 92 on a Thursday night when Marshall Faulk absolutely destroyed the BYU defense (I was at this one). Good stuff. I guess this year when BYU and SDSU hook up, it will look almost like old times.

The red helmets look kind of out of place, but thats nitpicking. Not too bad really. Maybe switch to a black helmet with stripes the same colors as on the jersey and pants.
