Best hockey uniform not being used

Looking at the past and seeing the great (and not so great) uniforms that have been in the NHL, it seemed that there are a few thatreally should be back on the ice again, looking as good as ever (if it were only possible...)

Here's my list of best hockey uniforms not in use.

1. Hartford Whalers 1992 - 1997

2. Buffalo Sabres 1971 - 1996

3. Kansas City Scouts

4. Minnesota North Stars 1989 - 1991

5. Vancouver Canucks 1990's - 1997

Honorable Mentions

New Jersey Devils 1982 - 1993

Colorado Rockies

Los Angeles Kings 1970's - 1988

Hartford...yes

Buffalo...they weren't that special IMO...nice, and better than current, but not making this sort of a list for me

KC...I'd say so...

Minnesota...see Buffalo

Vancouver...maybe...they look good, though there should be more white on the black one

Devils...no

Rockies...you bet

Kings...nope

Flyers...perhaps...definatley gets nod over the black ones

Stars...absolutely not...those were bad...not that they really improved right now...

1.Canucks 89-97 (Stood out)

2.Leafs 60's (the blue one)

3.Winnipeg (Classic)

4.Rangers 70's logo jerseys (Great numbers)

5.Flames

Best Uniforms in the league:

1.Chicago.  Nothing beats them.  Cool, classic, if slightly un-PC(It was a WWI troop, not named after the Native tribe)

2.Montreal

3.Detroit

4.Philidelphia(That logo was ingenious)

5.Boston

The best recent replacements

1.Capitals(Anything except the red...)

2.Flyers (Black looks sooo much classier)

3.Devils(Also classier)

4.Leafs(Getting away from the white shoulder/bluejersey design)

5.Pittsburgh(Retro and new)

Worst ever:

1.Any Nucks jersey before 1989

2.Scouts/Rockies

3.North Stars

4.Whalers(81-93?)

5.Flyers orange

Hartford Whalers- Navy (best jerseys of all time)

Winnipeg Jets- Navy (2nd best jerseys of all time)

Pittsburgh Penguins- White/Blue/Blue. I will buy the vintage line of this one.

As far as the rest-

Buffalo? Really? The white ones were okay...but looking at the blue ones now, they really look beer league to me.  Maybe it's because of a huge glut of those old unies I used to see at Canadian Tire as a kid...

Devils- no.  The green wasn't good.  They look much better now, although a little more white in the red unies could help it a smidgen.

KC Scouts- Ecch.  Although that being said, the River City Sports in my area has the Rockies jerseys on sale for cheap right now...I may pick one up after XXXmas.

Frightening thing is that when the NHL announced that Disney would be getting an NHL expansion franchise for Anaheim, that jersey was what was trotted out by Michael Eisner for the press conference.
