Pacman Just "Saw" Shooting

This is the NFL folks. As long as Pacman can play at the level he has so far he'll keep his job. Give it a few weeks and let the PR department get the spin together. They'll get this all worked out. You're already seeing it with the "saw but did not participate in the incident" bull :censored:. The NFL likes to give lip service to "character" but the truth is as long as a guy can ball he's going to have a job.

If you substitute the name Eric King for Pacman Jones and leave everything else the same then Eric King doesn't have a job with the Titans this morning. In the unlikely event that the Titans actually cut Jones, as long as he doesn't end up in jail, he'll be signed by another NFL team by the draft.

This will be played off as another "he made a bad choice but has seen the errors of his ways" routine. Pacman will do some sort of emotional press conference and the media will eat it up. He may even do some sort of "counseling" before this is done. And by training camp it will all be forgotten as long as Pacman remains a lockdown corner.

Character sounds good and it plays well to a lot of people but in the end all that matters to most NFL teams are two things. Can you play? How much money do we have invested in you? That's the reality. I wish it wasn't like that but it is.

This says it all..."Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who was at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, had no comment."

That will surely be followed by the "we'll let the facts of the case play out."

I'm not saying that Pacman Jones doesn't deserve due process. He very well may be innocent and I hope for his sake he is. All I'm saying is that if we expect the Titans to act on principle because Pacman seems to find himself in an inordinate number or "wrong place wrong time" scenarios then we're dreaming.

Which begs the question: what's proper strip club etiquette in Canada now that the lowest bill is a five? I imagine the girls don't want jingly crotches.

Interesting info about Young Adam Jones pre-draft mindset from NFL_Czar's Blog

Titans were warned

Tennessee?s new general manager Mike Reinfeldt discussed the possibility of trading troubled cornerback Adam ?Pacman? Jones here, and I bet head coach Jeff Fisher regrets almost daily that they selected Jones with the sixth pick of the ?06 draft. Granted, he?s a more dynamic player than Antrel Rolle, the other cornerback considered by the Titans, but Jones is simply an undisciplined personality. How else do you explain the Las Vegas reports of him tossing money (from of bag containing $81,000) at strippers and the fact that Fisher had to suspend him for a game last season for spitting at a woman in a nightclub?

The young man has character issues.

Fans may howl at this story, but marketing man Mike Ornstein warned Fisher about Pacman prior to the draft. Orny called him irresponsible. According to the story, Pacman was in New York City and Fisher wanted him to fly to Nashville prior to the draft. Well, he skipped his first flight. He was having too much fun in NYC. Ornstein, who was trying to sign Pacman to a Reebok deal, was told to get Pacman on the next plane out of LaGuardia. Well, Ornstein went through security with Pacman and escorted him to the departure gate. He watched Pacman get onto the plane.

However, the next phone call from Fisher said it all. Pacman didn?t arrive on his scheduled flight. Yes, he slipped back off the plane at LaGuardia when Ornstein turned his back. There was simply too much partying to do in Manhattan.

But we all know that there will be teams lining up to trade for Pacman. And the Titans may even get a low second-round pick for him regardless of character.
