number81
KC seems to wear an anniversary patch every five years... Obviously an AFL logo - not really sure what this one is about though - they are still wearing the LH sticker on the helmet to honor Lamar Hunt, right? It will also be interesting to see if they stick to the white pants on the road like they did after LH's passing during last season... EDIT:Took a closer look - they are not wearing the LH sticker on their helmets, so this is probably Hunt related... http://anyonebutdetroit.com
Juddley
I wonder if they'll go the route of the Bears and put Mr. Hunt's initials on the uni sleeves. If anyone would be deserving of something like that, I'd think Hunt would be the man.
BlueSky
It's a very cool Lamar Hunt tribute patch. It's the original AFL logo with the initials "LH" on the football. Subtle, understated, classy...much like Mr. Hunt from what I've read. And BTW, you can buy the patch through the Chiefs' online store.Lamar Hunt tribute patch

jojotarantino
That is sweet. The NFL should make that AFL logo the official AFC logo.
Harmening
This may be a dumb question....but are the pant stripes smaller than they used to be?? I don't feel like researching, but it seems like they've worn wider stripes in the past.

But it did take me a good 90 seconds to find pics from the 60's and a few years ago so I can understand not wanting to invest that kind of time. MadmanLA
On a side note here, it's also the team's 45th season in Kansas City.
BBTV
The uniform looks pretty dated as-is, but the thin stripes (on the white pants anyway) really make it look old. FWIW, I feel the same way about the Seahawks white pants (obviously they're not old, but they look old.) Wow, thats quite a deal. I picked up an Oakland A's Bill King tribute patch this season and it cost me $15. Luigi74
That is sweet. The NFL should make that AFL logo the official AFC logo.No way, the Browns, Colts, Steelers, Ravens, Jaguars, and Texans were never part of the AFL and the Bengals were barely an AFL team only joining it after the merge was annouced since Paul Brown wanted back in the NFL. I don't feel like researching, but it seems like they've worn wider stripes in the past.I saw a clip of KC in their roads and perhaps this is why you were thinking they'd worn wider stripes. The white surround is obviously to leave the "main" stripe looking like the home unis, though the red is much thicker on the home pants stripe. But how did I never realize how big that road stripe really is? Oh...because it wasn't always that way:Those interested in a fascinating, well-written source for KC uni info should check out the Chiefs uniform history page.
