Waffles
I wonder why the Admirals went with the helmet rather than their logo...

Mac the Knife
And apparently the Birmingham Fire moved to Dusseldorf, Germany, something the WLAF/NFLEL has never before claimed.

Slammersman
Well Birmingham didn't move to Dusseldorf. The Birmingham Fire last year was 1992 so if you do the math that is more that 10 years. My question did the Rhien Fire come along in 1994 if so that fits. Now if the count the 2 years of B'ham and the Rhien Fire came along in 96 then that might be the case. So would they consider to add years to the Berlin Thunder because of the Orlando Thunder?
TruColor
Actually, Rhein came into existence in 1995, so 2004 IS the 10th season...(I looked it up)
Brian in Boston
There is no direct historic link between the Birmingham Fire and Rhein Fire franchises... well, aside from their team identity and the fact that their helmets feature(d) stylized flames on them.Brian in Boston

Mac the Knife
And y'know, it didn't really occur to me until I looked it up that WLAF was started in 1991, so I stand corrected - there's no correlation. It's just hard for me to fathom that NFLEL has been around that long.Man I'm getting old..

hrivnak
Agreed on the old factor, having just turned 30.At any rate, why is the the abbreviation for NFL Europe "NFLEL?" Is that a bit redundant...National Football League Europe League?
TruColor
Actually, the acronym is just NFLE......and, I just turned 41...I don't think I'm the oldest on this board, but I'm old enough to be a father to a few of you...Frightening.
