City of Cincinnati Gets New Logo

Cincinnati's got a new logo - its first - that will soon start showing up on city vehicles, signs and letterhead.

The local firm LPK Leadership Brands, which has come up with logos for Hershey, Pringles and Pampers, came up with Cincinnati's new capital C in shades of blue and green. Macy's covered the $75,000 cost. The logo won't replace the city's commonly used seal, but will elevate the seal back to its rightful place of importance and give it more "gravitas," said Meg Olberding, spokeswoman for City Manager Milton Dohoney.

The "city of cincinnati" in lower-case letters is meant to show the city is inviting, approachable, she said today. The change in colors from dark to light around the C shows movement, she said, as in the city is moving forward.

The logo was developed after input via surveys and questionnaires from employees, who consistenly said they wanted it to show pride.

"The branding idea is really about how we serve our customers," Olberding said, "and reflecting that."

Officials don't plan to start converting business cards, letterhead and other signage right away, she said. Rather, things will be replaced as needed with the new look.

I really like it, although I still haven't seen a high quality version of this.

Looks like a rejected Cialis logo...

How about Cialis meets the Chicago Cubs?

Perhaps if they did the Cubbies would last until the end of the season. (rimshot) (bow)

We all have our little faults. Mine's in California.

It's a nice... looking logo. But does it really distinctly tell you anything about the city? I mean, put that C to any other city starting with the letter C and it can show that the city is "moving forward".

Well that's because there's nothing say. Because there's nothing to do.

I agree with fnz ... I used to live in Cincy. Trust me, the more boring the logo, the more descriptive it will actually be
