MLB Sox Redesign

Hello, this is my second concept on this board. I decided to try a new Red Sox and White Sox logo and it eventually spread into uniforms. The first link is the Red Sox logos and uniforms. I think of the RED Sox as a red team with navy accents. I made two logos for home and away. White on gray is not acceptable, I feel, unless white and gray are primary colors(like the White Sox). Therefore, made an away patch for the shoulder that has the gray instead of white. I also tried to narrow it down to just one cap for the Red Sox. Any more than one, I feel, is too much for a traditional team like the Red Sox. A blue crown with a red bill is fitting to all of the uniforms I made so I kept that one. The second link is just a scrapped concept I had. I made green and red the primary colors with a blue accents. I scrapped because the Red Sox only need two colors and the Celtics are enough green. The third link is the White Sox wordmarks and fonts. Believe it or not, all of these logos and wordmarks are made entirely out of socks. It's a crazy idea that got out of control so I kept it. The fourth link are all of the uniforms. There are pinstripes, vests, throwbacks, clean plain jerseys, and a mixture of one or two. C&C Love it, hate it, debate it. Thank you

I think the white sox concept is a little out there but I think the Red Sox one is pretty nice. I've never been a fan of suggestions of the red sox going to red hats, but I don't mind the red brim. pretty nice set and I like the sleeve patch.

Export in PNG instead of JPG, it will make your concepts look cleaner.

Story B: Red Wings go undefeated and score 100 goals in every game. They also beat a team comprised of Godzilla, the ghost of Abraham Lincoln, 2 Power Rangers and Betty White. Oh, and they played in the middle of Iraq on a military base. In the sand. With no ice. Santa gave them special sand-skates that allowed them to play in shorts and t-shirts in 115 degree weather. Jesus, Zeus and Buddha watched from the sidelines and ate cotton candy.

Hey man since its only your 2nd post i understand what your goin through im still newer too and am glad i picked this site b/c people are very helpful, some are just critics but thats what makes us better, i really like all of your redsox work, especially the patches really add a nice touch. however im sorry the white sox font isnt the best, it just doesnt fit them since theyre an old school kinda team, think of maybe messing with old school script styles, and if you want to give them a modified font, try it as an alternate concept (out of the ordinary ususally looks cool on 3rds, u prob already knew that lol). Any way i have a question for you..how do you get you're patches to loks like theyre sewn on with the sleeves down? i'm afraid to try it b/c mine never fit the sleeve, like how do you get it so that its down with the sleeves? Is it angling or do you crop it, or is it a tool in photoshop...it'll really help me with my phillies concepts and would be a great help.

Take care man

Thanks a lot man. Yeah I think the overwhleming consensus is that the White Sox stinks. That's ok. It's part of learning. For your question, I use MS Paint. I do not use vector magic yet, I just recently figured out how to make some .PNG(thanks nash61). But anyways, you know that tool in the very top left corner(the one with the dotted line but not the box one, the free-hand one)? Take your patch and try to run your free-hand cropping tool as straight a line as you can along an angle similar to your jersey sleeve template. If you 'whip' your mouse very fast in that angle, you will get a somewhat straight line. It might take a few tries, but soon you'll get it the way you want and then just wrap the line all the way around the logo to where you began. Then take that and resize it to make it smaller and put it on your sleeve. Hope this helped. Take care yourself.
