Why are all the A's hats almost identical!?!?!?!?!?

Because their home primary cap is (near) perfect. (I say near because I want them to go back to normal green/kelly green).

I love that this thing is still going. Nice concepts by all. Would there be interest in doing a MLB primary logos thread like this?

I know this is not just a cap, but something I played around with a while ago in paint. I'm not even 1/100th as talented as so many of you are, and I'm constantly in newfound awe of so many of the incredible concepts you guys come up with.

Without further ado, this is how the Washington Nationals should look, to me...or a slight variation thereof...

Well, here's my take on the primary caps.

NL West:

Arizona Diamondbacks: Current logo, Tim E. O'Brien colors

Colorado Rockies: Current logo, inverted colors

Los Angeles Dodgers: The logo has been thinned back to the 1958 style.

San Francisco Giants: Same

Padres: 1990-2003 Cap logo on brown cap

NL Central:

Chicago Cubs: Same

Cincinnati Reds: No drop shadow

Houston Astros: I brought back the navy blue and orange, as well as recoloring and tilting the star logo (now the star looks like an ascending rocket, or an "A").

Milwaukee Brewers: The classic logo, with navy blue replacing light blue, and with a white outline.

Pittsburgh Pirates: Same

St. Louis Cardinals: Blue and white have been inverted to allow for better visibility.

NL East:

Atlanta Braves: Same

Miami Marlins: Now this may be controversial, but I like the idea of an "Art Deco" logo, provided the source "M" and colors are better than the current monstrosity. So, I found some Miami Art Deco colors online, and applied them to the old Blue Jays font "M", complete with a new "fish".

New York Mets: Same

Philadelphia Phillies: 1980's script "P" on a maroon cap.

Washington Nationals: I've replaced the Walgreen's logo with the latest version of the "DC" logo, complete with a red cap (I already have too many blue caps)

AL West:

California Angels: Current cap logo, with a yellow halo and a blue crown.

Oakland Athletics: 1987 cap logo and colors, with a yellow outline on the insignia.

Texas Rangers: Drop shadow replaced with outline.

Seattle Mariners: A mix between the 1977 and 1993 colors, with a classic cap logo.

AL Central:

Chicago White Sox: Current logo with a dark red outline (Go-Go Sox update)

Cleveland Indians: Fox's logo in light blue and yellow (because Chief Wahoo and "racist red" need to go)

Detroit Tigers: Same

Kansas City Royals: Gold outline on current logo.

Minnesota Twins: Vikings colors (Thank you KevinMets!)

AL East:

Baltimore Orioles: A return to the original cartoon bird.

Boston Red Sox: Green outline on the normal cap.

New York Yankees: Same

Tampa Bay Rays: Old-school green, with modern cap logo and light blue.

Toronto Blue Jays: Same as the leaked cap logo.

Expansion:

Montreal Expos: A darker version of the old Expos cap (again, breaks up complete r-w-b monotony)

Portland Rosebuds: Trailblazers colors with leaves

Vancouver Hellions: Classic Canucks colors

Charlotte Knights: A recolored version of the current minor league team's cap

1. First of all, great work. My favourite rendition.

2. However, if you're going to get rid of a R-W-B team, the Expos should be the last one. It's not monotone, it's the bleu, blanc et rouge, a very important symbol of French-Canada (which is why the Habs are RWB) after the French flag. Hell, they even named a team after the colours.

Portland Rosebuds? I know Portland is the City of Roses, but ... Rosebuds?

But, SFGiants, I really like a number of things you did, especially the Astros logo. It really has more of an effect of a rocket taking off, just like you said.

As a Twins fan, I've often wondered what it would like like if they went with the Vikings colors. I kind of like it. Kind of.
