Cherry's Bobby Orr tribute

Did anyone see this--during first intermission of game 5--wow--that was something--too bad he did a lot to the teams I liked...

While some players may have been better at this or that than Orr--he could control the flow of a game and take over like no other player ever.

There were times he was all the penalty kill the Bruins needed.

Comic Sans walks into a bar, and the bartender says, "Sorry, we don't serve your type here."

He was the greatest player ever. You can cite statistics, blah blah blah, but for those years he played, he dominated the game like no other player can. That goal agianst Atlanta was THE most amazing and defining moment ever. He won the freaking scoring race as a defenseman! Only Paul Coffey ever came near that.

Gretzky could score. But could he hit? Could he fight? Nope. For the complete game needed for hockey, Orr was the best.

I actually agree with Don Cherry on something. Shoot me please. :P

Ugh, repent now! ^_^ I can't stand Cherry, he's off his friggin' rocker.

Since I didn't see said segment, I can't really comment on it. I'd still probably take Gretzky over Orr overall, but there's little to argue about Orr's influence over defensemen since that time. I almost wish there was less influence, since defensemen are supposed to play defense (damnit!), but there's no doubting his place.

Bobby Orr is the greatest player ever.

Why? Scoring Title as a Defenceman

He can hit

He can shoot

He can score

He dominated the game. Wayne needed people to fight them whenever he got the slightest touch.

He's one of the Three Gods of Boston, along with Teddy Ballgame and Larry Bird.

Truly one of the greatest players ever. Imagine if he had good knees.....
