Island_Style
The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced that there will be no black outs for the 2012 season. this comes after the Jaguars decided not to take advantage of the new blackout rules. They were one of a few teams that kept the blackout threshold at 100%. Both teams in Florida, Miami and Tampa, took advantage and lowered it to 85%. Both still having issues. The Jags aren't going anywhere, folks. I have been calling this since 2009. Tarps may be removed for some games.
CS85
To their credit they've been one of the more innovative franchises in terms of ticket packages and attendance promotions of late. Island_Style
Speaking of which. This is how they are getting rid of the 500 or so scattered leftovers. $20 random tickets.
Gothamite
That's great news. The Jags' fanbase has a real opportunity over the next couple seasons to take themselves out of the constant relocation talk. Let's all hope they keep stepping up. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
Island_Style
Jacksonville is extremely lucky that the NFL rejected Khan's St. Louis bid. He is one hell of an owner.
DustDevil61
Good to hear. I'm always a fan of small-market teams in pro sports that can make things work out. Things didn't look good for a while. http://i.imgur.com/Pyc5qRH.gifhttp://i.imgur.com/RDXvxFE.gif LED Sig Credits to packerfan21396
Gothamite
Well, that might be premature. We don't know that it will work out in the long run, only that they have taken a very, very positive step in the right direction. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog. STL FANATIC
Jacksonville is extremely lucky that the NFL rejected Khan's St. Louis bid. He is one hell of an owner. They did not. The NFL accepted Khan's bid and approved him as an NFL owner.Stan Kroenke held rights of first-refusal to match the offer for the remaining 60% of the team that he did not already own (and which Khan was bidding on). Kroenke did so and assumed full control of the team. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
Island_Style
I see. Well, either way Jax is lucky and St. Louis missed a gem of an owner. Gothamite
It's sure looking that way. Again, the jury is still out. We haven't seen what he's done as an owner besides inspire confidence among a previously lackluster fanbase, which is a tremendous accomplishment in itself but must be followed up with solid stewardship to create a viable NFL culture in Jacksonville. Weaver deserves s lot of credit. He first pushed the snowball. Too bad he kept Jack Duh Rio for a decade.
theSLVRBCK
Smartest thing Khan and Co. did this offseason was actually start reaching out to the areas outside of Jacksonville ... Gainesville, Waycross, etc. Never understood why Weaver didn't do this.
STL FANATIC
I have no doubt St. Louis missed out on a great owner in Khan, but I'm not sure they missed out on a better owner than Kroenke. Need more time to let both situations play out. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT
