Lumbergh
I have been working on my fictional baseball league for the past 6 months, the PBCA (Pro Baseball Clubs of America). The league consists of 18 teams at the moment, but more are perhaps in store for the near future. I have been deeply invested in this for some time and wanted to start getting some of these concepts out to the public eye. I plan on unveiling a few teams each week. I wanted to make it a real experience, so even though these logos have been created in the past 6 months, I will give each one a fictional year of creation just like a real league would have. So some teams might have logo creation dates for 2016, and some for 1990, 1985, etc. Here is a list of the teams. The PBCA was founded in 1982 with only 6 teams, the Hammers, Coasters, Hitters, Dockers, Rebels (defunct), and Snakes (defunct). Expansion soon followed in the years to come and 18 teams emerged. (League Logo, created in 1982, 3rd star added in 1993 for 3rd division) -Western Division- -------------------------- Portland Dockers San Diego Servicemen Colorado Bluegills California Coasters Oklahoma City Comets Las Vegas Lights -Central Division- -------------------------- Kansas City Roasters Dallas Mockingbirds Wisconsin Creamers Detroit Crows Nashville Spinners Atlanta Hammers -Eastern Division- -------------------------- Carolina Atlantics Washington Founders Boston Chowdas New York Hitters Montreal Macareux Brooklyn Breakers ------------------------------ Bold= finished concept. Lumbergh
The first team I am going to unveil is the Las Vegas Lights. Founded in 1998, logos created the same year. The Lights wear dark purple, yellow, and gray and are one of the league's most unsuccessful franchises. Owned by a local casino chain CEO, the team has struggled for relevance since their inception. Although they boast one of the best attendance ratings in the league, the team has never finished in the top 3 in their division. Their merchandise sells very well and the team is a very marketable entity with fans.

Lumbergh
Here is the next team in the league, the Colorado Bluegills. Founded in 1984, the Bluegills got a new logo in 2001 shortly after losing the championship to the Atlanta Hammers. The newer logo received a great reception from the fans, and merchandise sales saw a drastic increase nationwide. The stylize "C" forming fish logo was an update to a less exciting logo the team had used from 1984-2000, which featured a cartoon fish swinging a bat. Owner William W. Grantson also built a new stadium named Bluegill Field of Denver to coincide with the new logo in 2001. The team has risen to West division dominance in recent years, yet is still looking for it's first championship appearance since 2000, and first title in franchise history. the_grateful_ted
I'm not a big baseball fan at all, but I love this series! Creative stuff, I really like that bluegills logo. Keep up the good work.

KittSmith_95
Not feeling the shade of green used for Colorado, but Las Vegas looks sharp. Can't wait to see who's next.
Broncoboy7
Loving the league. Only tweak that I would say is darken the shade of green for Colorado. It's too light and it's kind of like a baby color.

I've looked at it on 2 different computers and it definitely looks like metallic gold. I can tweak it though forsure. I had teal originally then changed it. Do you think teal would pop a little more with the blue instead?

Lumbergh
I'll play around with it a little bit later today. I think the shade of gold I used is a tad on the green side. I will adjust that.-Edit-I updated the Bluegills with a more yellowish gold and richer blue. Looks a lot cleaner now.
Lumbergh
The Kansas Roasters were founded in 1995 by barbecue enthusiast Kirby Lowenstein, who 11 years earlier had established his own brand of sauce called "Kirby's Famous BBQ Sauce." The sauce exploded in popularity, and so did Kirby's money flow. He invested profits in a baseball team located in his hometown and company's headquarters of Kansas City. The team won the league championship in 2000, the fastest expansion team to do so in league history. Merchandise is very popular in the Midwest, and the team is reportedly the 5th highest valued franchise in the league.

Uglybus
I can imagine memes of someone wearing this when 'roasting' someone on the internet. "Okay, Mr. OKC, you obviously have never been to Louisville."
Lumbergh
In association with Hank Aaron, the Atlanta Hammers were founded in 1982. The team has won 3 league championships and appeared in a record 7 championship series. In 1997 the Hammers re-branded with only slight modifications, such as thicker outlines on the famous "A-hammer bat", an addition of a roundel, and jersey modifications. The team is the 2nd highest valued franchise in the league, and continues to rise in prominence. Owner Morrison Davis has stay committed to nameless jerseys from the start of the team in '82, and a level of unselfishness has always been a key to the team's success. davidmiller5
I think your this design would be greatly improved if you combined the ideas in the primary and secondary logos. The hammer as the cross-beam of the H really works well, but its placement on top of the A doesn't really work. In addition, the bat in the primary logo and alt hat looks pasted in--it doesn't work well. I suggest you move the hammer in the primary logo to where it is in the secondary. Then put the A-logo on primary hat (because hats tend to have the initials of the city instead of the team name). In addition, the really curved wordmark and the strong serifs on your logos don't really work too well together. I would find a slab serif font (and maybe tweak it to match the serifs in your logo.

Unique, Coloradoan, and American, all at once. A great identity, good job! "You ain't gonna learn what you don't wanna know..."
