  1. ECHL is coming to Lake Tahoe, courtesy of Tim Tebow. Tebow is also a minority partner for Jacksonville and Savannah in the ECHL. No identity yet. Common sense would be to have them affiliate with Vegas Golden Knights and Henderson Silver Knights and be branded as the Tahoe Bronze Knights https://www.echl.com/en/news/2023/7/echl-approves-expansion-membership-for-lake-tahoe
  2. I mean we've now hit the All Star break, this is typically about the time a good Reds team comes back to reality to crash and burn
  3. im so conflicted. It was great to see Brandon Vazquez score for the US in front of fans at his MLS home. But with the US winning it means we will be without him and Matt Miazga for two more really important MLS matches.
  4. I said it before and Ill say it again. Ted Unkel is the Angel Hernandez of soccer. Despite getting Unkel'd FC Cincinnati came back to draw Charlotte 2-2. Ian Murphy fresh off his one game suspension for two yellows, earning a red in DC, did the same thing tonight in Charlotte and will be gone for Wednesday at New Jersey. Meanwhile FCC is hurting without Vazquez and Miazga. Why MLS and Liga MX didnt schedule the Leagues Cup at the same time as the Gold Cup is beyond me. It sounds selfish but I need Canada to beat the US in Cincinnati on Sunday so we can get our boys back.
  5. If a perfect game is pitched in Oakland, does anybody see it?
  6. FC Cincinnati fell just short of a record 12 wins at home to start the season tonight, coming back to draw with New England 2-2, in a hard fought game between the top two teams in MLS. FCC looked like the better team, but several missed opportunities and an own goal killed them tonight.
  7. Makes sense. Its been awhile since it had been to Columbus. New stadium, plus the whole Save The Crew campaign. I heard Cincinnati also applied to host for 2024, but decided to bow out to focus on building their new district outside TQL Stadium instead.
  8. considering how I (currently 35) was only 1 when the Reds last hit for the cycle, and the fact that it was the Reds, a team who has merely just existed with little purpose since they last won a playoff series in 1995, hitting for the cycle was huge.
  9. Between the Reds hot streak, the amazing turnaround of FC Cincinnati, the Joe Burrow era of the Bengals, the Bearcats joining the Big 12, right now is an amazing time for sports in Cincinnati
  10. 12 wins in a row for the Reds, most since 1957, snapping the Braves 8 game winning streak. Votto hit his second and third home runs of the year after returning from the season starting DL this week. Elly De La Cruz hit for the cycle in just his 15th game in the majors, the Reds first cycle since Eric Davis in 1989. Reds were down 5-0 after the top of the first, win 11-10. All in front of a sold out crowd in what may have been the game of the year so far.
  11. The incredible thing about Cincinnati is 10 of their 13 wins are by 1 goal, 6 of them 1-0. 10 wins of the 13 wins were also won at home. (3-1-4 on the road). The only time they looked bad was at St Louis, and that was without a couple starters and a long rain delay.
  12. The Orioles dumped Frederick because Harry Grove Stadium was actually the oldest of their minor league stadium. When MLB took over MILB with the new minor league stadium standards, Frederick would've needed the most work done than the other ballparks to bring it up to the new standards. Frederick wants to return to MILB but they gotta bring the stadium up to the new standards
  13. Hagerstown is joining next year. The Atlantic League needed a filler team to even out the schedule. Both teams are different ownership. Frederick is owned by the same ownership of the Frederick Keys in the MLB Draft League. They are just a filler team for the Atlantic League and give more dates to Frederick, who still wants to come back up to the MILB level.
  14. FC Cincinnati with their 10th home win to start the season. A 3-0 victory over Toronto in which they were without 6 of their starters (injury or international duty), saw 3 MLS debuts with Bret Halsey (an FCC2 player signed specifically for this game to help cover the absences), Gerardo Valenzuela, and Stiven Jimenez (a 15 year old, who last weekend on the teams bye secured his learners permit). Meanwhile, Nashville falls at Montreal tonight so FCC gains back the three points Nashville picked up over their win last weekend. Also in attendance tonight were 11 Cincinnati Reds players, fresh off this afternoons 11th straight win. What a time for sports in Cincy.
  15. 11 games in a a row now for the Redlegs. The longest winning streak for the club since the Eisenhower presidency (1957), 3 straight series sweeps, and 13-2 since they called up Elly De La Cruz. But dont let this distract you from the fact that Castellini still needs to sell the team.
  16. Bob Huggins has resigned as head coach at West Virginia. Huggins was arrested in Pittsburgh for DUI on Friday. He was already on thin ice. This comes just over month after he said a homophobic slur on Cincinnati radio. He was suspended for the first three games, received a pay cut and his contract changed from a multi year agreement to a year by year agreement. Huggins was arrested for a DUI in 2004 in Cincinnati as well. He was forced out of University of Cincinnati a year later.
  17. My pick: Carmen San Diego
  18. Congrats to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on capturing their second straight Canadian Championship and a spot in next years CONCACAF Champions League Cup. The US Open Cup semifinals are set. Houston Dynamo will host Real Salt Lake and FC Cincinnati will host Inter Miami (and potentially Messi). Winners will meet in the Open Cup final with Salt Lake having first hosting priority, followed by Miami, and Cincinnati.
  19. I agree, however, its not a City, United, FC Miami, Miami FC. Seeing as how it is different from the rest of the league, Ill allow it.
  20. Relocate to where? Unless MLB or an owner privately finances the building of a stadium and the infrastructure, they arent going anywhere. Nowadays, its extremely difficult to find a city that is willing to pony up taxpayer money to help fund the building of a stadium for a sports team run by wealthy owners. Plus AmFam is 22 years old and is still very usable. Oakland/Las Vegas needs to be the first priority for Manfred. The sooner they can get out of the possum dump the better. Tropicana, while not ideal is in better shape than Oakland. Id then place Angel Stadium after that. Milwaukee is far down on the list of stadium needs. If the Brewers dont get the funding, they can survive a little while longer without the upgrades. Not a big deal.
  21. We are down to the quarterfinals in the US Open Cup Birmingham and Pittsburgh, the last two, USL clubs remaining, upset their MLS opponents Charlotte and Columbus. (Rough week for Columbus, losing to both Cincy and Pitt. Ouch)Pittsburgh will play at Cincinnati, Birmingham will host Inter Miami. Chicago hosts Houston and Salt Lake hosts LA Galaxy. Meanwhile, North of the Border, the Canadian Championship Final is set with Vancouver Whitecaps hosting CF Montreal.
  22. Is it Gary Bettman? Their admin is Gary Bettman. It has to be.
  23. FCC, The Orange and Blue, FC Cincy, Knifey Lions, and The Garys are the several nicknames Ive heard for FC Cincinnati, but never just the Lions. Thats Orlando.
