  1. MLS just added Ticketmaster as their official ticketing partner a month ago for a multiyear deal, however the tickets I purchased recently for an FC Cincinnati match still went through Seat Geek.
  2. St Louis suffers their first defeat of the season at the hands of Minnesota. Minnesota, LAFC and Cincinnati remain unbeaten. With Cincinnatis win tonight, they are now in first place in the Eastern Conference, for the first time in MLS, and are one point behind St Louis in the Supporters Shield standings.
  3. Posted in the college basketball thread, but I think it fits here too. A couple of potential things with this weekends Final Four when it comes to Florida Atlantic. If Florida Atlantic somehow wins the NCAA Tournament, CUSA would sweep the postseason mens tournaments. (North Texas won the NIT, and Charlotte won the College Basketball Invitational.) All three schools move to the American Athletic Conference next season. Also, If Florida Atlantic and Miami play each other for the title, it will mark only the third time two teams from the same state play each other in the championship game. The previous two were Cincinnati and Ohio State in 1961 and 1962 (Cincinnati won both).
  4. Couple things at stake this weekend. First, a potential for a CUSA sweep. North Texas won the NIT, and Charlotte won the College Basketball Invitational. If Florida Atlantic somehow wins the NCAA tournament we will have a sweep of the tournaments by CUSA. Second we could see two schools from the same state play each other in the Championship game (Florida Atlantic and Miami). Only other time that happened was in 1961 and 1962, when Cincinnati beat Ohio State both times.
  5. Actually the new Burger King logo more closely resembles the 1994 logo that updated the 1968 logo. 1969-99 1994-99 2020-pre As for the Pepsi change, the colors seem too dark for me. I do like that the better globe returned though. The font seems off to me to.
  6. Ive been told all MLS fanbases hate Seattle.
  7. Not really. Cincy fans are laughing that some Nashville fans actually made the shirt. We weren't hurt by the shirt or its message at all. Seattle however had a big tizzy when we told them to **** themselves.
  8. When it comes to rivals for Cincinnati in the USL we had Pittsburgh, Indy, Louisville, and Saint Louis. Although they werent in the USL yet, Detroit was also kind of a rival because of an Open Cup match. When Cincinnati moved up to MLS, Columbus became our regional rival. Chicago and New York Red Bulls became rivals because of the Open Cup (somehow Minnesota didnt stick). Charlotte isnt really a rival. Its been forced upon us because of the whole Queen City thing. As much as I would like St Louis City to become a rival, i dont think it will stick with St Louis being in the western conference. If we would play them every year then maybe it could stick.
  9. Am I the only one who hates the black in the Reds uniforms? Ive loved the red/white that they have had prior to 1999.
  10. Because Nashville has been bouncing between the Eastern and Western Conference, they dont really have an MLS rival. Nashville fans have been trying hard for it to be Cincinnati because of our past together in the USL, but a lot of Cincy fans want no part in having Nashville as a rival. Its why Nashville supporters as well as the team itself were talking alot last week, but Cincy supporters and the team were very quiet. Many of the supporters of other teams are constantly like, "Yall got three wooden spoons" and bringing up how bad we were in the past as if we are still bad today. We are a completely different team now and they all seem to be stuck in the past rather than the present.
  11. Not so fast. Like the Athletics, Oaklands USL club has stadium issues. Last year the Roots postponed a game because their turf was unplayable. So the Roots are basically renting from Laney College, but because of the track around the field, the Roots have their own turf that they lay over the Laney College turf and track. The Roots are looking at another site to build a new stadium of their own and have narrowed it down to a parking lot at the Coliseum and a former Naval base at Alameda Point. The new stadium however is not a permanent solution and is only a modular build until they can find a more permanent home.
  12. At this point im pulling for Florida Atlantic, just to see the NCAA turn upside down
  13. Im actually very scared of St Louis. FCC plays them in three weeks
  14. FC Cincinnati is now unbeaten on the road in 9 games, dating back to July of last season (not counting playoffs), Getting a win on the road in Nashville is huge. Nashville and their supporters were talking all week how Nashville and Cincinnati is a rivalry and talked a lot of smack. Cincinnati supporters talked but not as much and to the level Nashville took it. There is the saying "Talk s***, get hit". Nashville got hit. Cincinnati now sits one point out of first in the Eastern Conference and is the lone remaining unbeaten in the East. We've come a long way from the first three seasons.
  15. Well you still got Gonzaga, and UConn
  16. Dont get me wrong, powerhouses are good, but it gets old seeing North Carolina, Duke, UCLA, Kentucky, Gonzaga, Kansas year after year. Variety is the spice of life. Its nice to see a team like a 3 loss Florida Atlantic get this far without being blown out by a powerhouse.
  17. Only UConn has won a championship (4). Gonzaga has been to the title game twice and lost both. Kansas State lost in their only appearance in the title game. Creighton, FAU, Miami, and San Diego State have never made it to the Final Four. Kinda nice not to see a majority of powerhouses this far.
  18. My bracket is now officially dead with Bama and Houston falling tonight. Guess ill cheer for anyone but Xavier for the rest of the tournament.
  19. Were we all sleeping on FAU to be the Cinderella this year? Only second ever trip to the NCAA tournament, and already in the Elite 8
  20. I think if MLS and Apple did scheduling similar to the NFL it might be better. Make it an all day event. Have an afternoon slot (say 3 PM eastern), followed by 5 PM slot, 7PM slot, and 9PM slot.) You can still have a nationally televised game on Fox or FS1 on Sunday, at whatever time. Games played in the Eastern time zone wouldnt be scheduled at 9 and games in the Pacific time zone wouldnt be scheduled at 3.
  21. For the first time since 1977, none of the six Philadelphia area Division I schools (Penn, Villanova, Temple, Drexel, St Josephs, La Salle) made the tournament. Meanwhile, North Carolina declined a bid to the NIT because apparently they think they are too good to be playing in it, rather than being in the first four out of the NCAA tournament.
