  1. The city of Cincinnati is definitely not redneck. The surrounding counties in Northern Kentucky, SE Indiana, and the Eastern counties of the Cincinnati metro area are debatable however.
  2. I was not a fan of Rochester being an independent club in MLS Next Pro, should have been in USL. Hopefully the USL can get back to Rochester soon. I dont have much hope for NISAs Flower City Union-Salt City Union merger team
  3. If the NHL wants to come back to Atlanta they will more than likely need to build a new arena. State Farm Arena (former home of the Thrashers) was renovated and is now more basketball friendly. If its still possible for a sheet of ice it may end up like another Barclays Center situation. Gas South Arena, located in nearby Duluth, is home to the ECHL Atlanta Gladiators, however it only seats around 13,000
  4. No the Genomes only popped up to give the league an even amount of clubs until Hagerstown was ready. Lexington ownership operated the Genomes and with the sale of the Legends, er Counter Clocks, the Genomes were disbanded. I believe the Hagerstown ownership also owns the Frederick Keys so they are placing a team in Frederick for 2023 until the ballpark is ready in Hagerstown.
  5. Heres the thing. Not all conferences sponsor the other sports. All schools have basketball. Some conferences like the Atlantic 10 dont sponsor football, however many of their members do, so they play as an affiliate member mostly in the CAA. The MAC is dropping soccer for 2023. Only four schools (Akron, Bowling Green, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan) sponsor soccer. BGSU, NIU, and WMU will join the Missouri Valley Conference for soccer only, and Akron is joining the Big East for soccer. Then you got hockey, a whole other beast. NCAA division II doesnt sponsor hockey, so the D2 schools that have hockey play in division I. The only division I conference that sponsors hockey is the Big Ten, who have Notre Dame as an affiliate. The rest all play in conferences that only sponsor hockey. Then you got the other sports beach volleyball, which lets face it, Ohio State in the Big Ten and Montana in the Big Sky arent exactly known for their beach volleyball. Point here is while when it comes to the conferences, we normally only tend to look at the basketball and football since those are the most popular sports. People forget about the other sports. It wouldnt make sense for a 12 team MAC for football and basketball to host a 4 school conference for soccer. Would it make sense to put all the non football schools play in only conferences that dont sponsor football? Maybe but then you have to think about the other sports too.
  6. He seems to be more interested in a third chance in Atlanta before going to Quebec.
  7. So the Rays new stadium will be built out of lava and the A's new stadium will be in the shape of a dildo.
  8. I saw one guy who went complained that parking cost more than tickets to the game.
  9. Watched the FC Cincinnati-Houston match tonight. im impressed with the production from Apple. Only gripes I have about it so far is that the score bug doesnt show how many subs are available and that you can only get either the Apple commentators or the home radio, as Id like to be able to hear my team on the road too. I watched the first half with the Apple commentators and then switched at halftime to the radio commentators.
  10. I saw this on reddit but basically a team could potentially play up to 61 games during the season. Each team is guaranteed at least 37 games (34 MLS regular season, 1 Open Cup, and 2 Leagues Cup) 2022 2023 MLS Regular Season 34 34 MLS Playoffs 4 6 Open Cup 5 5 CCL 8 9 Leagues Cup 0 7 Total 51 61
  11. Sun Devil, Desert Financial and Mullet are all in Tempe at the ASU campus. If you want concert or sporting events in Tempe, they already have the venues to do so. The NHL failed in Phoenix and Glendale and are gonna fail in Tempe too. Might as well put arenas in Mesa, Chandler, Peoria, Scottsdale, Surprise and every Phoenix suburb to see if the Coyotes can fail there too.
  12. Thats true however the Phoenix area already has Footprint Center, Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Chase Field, State Farm Stadium, Desert Diamond Arena, Sun Devil Stadium, Desert Financial Arena, Mullett Arena, Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex, Phoenix Raceway, not to mention the many spring training ballparks. Do they really need another arena for sports and concerts?
  13. As of February 21, 2023 it has been 10,000 days since the Cincinnati Reds won a playoff series.
  14. The Fire played a couple late season matches there last year and its the home of their MLSNP club so thats definitely not off the table
  15. Interesting that the Kroger patch is on the right or left depending on if the player is a righty or lefty.
  16. It puts them back in the MLS talk stadium wise at least. No idea if they have the investors, but I would love to see them in MLS
  17. Are ol friend Joe West seems to be unhappy that anybody can edit wikipedia. https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2023/02/13/joe-wests-apparent-new-job-in-retirement-pugnacious-editor-of-his-own-wikipedia-page/
  18. Cincinnati will be on the 15th
  19. Just showing how much Pepsi really cares about their lemon lime sodas over the years. While I dont think Starry has hit fountains yet but my Taco Bell still has the Mist Twist sticker. They are gonna completely skip a brand.
  20. Bobcats are done. They announced on their twitter, which has been virtually inactive since last summer.
  21. They are currently still scheduled to play at Huntsville on Friday. Although last Friday the SPHL announced only a few hours before puck drop of the opponent change for Quad City, so if the league pulls off the same stunt on Friday I wouldnt be surprised.
  22. The Florida Seals folded in January 2007. They were also in the SPHL.
