  1. Orca should have been involved in the primary. Just sayin. MLS current target audience are millennials and Gen Z. They grew up with the orca logo. Space needle may scream Seattle, but the orca screams Sounders.
  2. I mean its been a rough week for sports in Miami. Dolphins first loss of the season last Sunday. Marlins swept in the wildcard. Inter Miami and Messi lose and eliminated from playoff contention. FIU also lost today. Only fitting for the Canes to choke this one away too.
  3. Add Wayne Rooney to the list now. DC United and Rooney have mutually agreed to part ways. DC played their last game tonight and were eliminated. Rumors have Rooney going to Birmingham City
  4. FCC rebounded tonight by eliminating Inter Fort Lauderdale (with some help from CF Montreal) winning 1-0 thanks to Barreal. Messi made his return in the second half but was a bit rusty. The whole game was about him. Every stoppage, Apple panned to him on the bench. Had Taylor Swift attended the game, we wouldnt have seen a game at all as all cameras would have been on him. Speaking of cameras. The Minnesota United match could not air on Apple tonight, as the in house crew at Minnesota went on strike tonight. Out of six cameras for the game 4 remained stationary and only 2 were manned. They also found a truck operator early this afternoon.
  5. Minnesota has parted ways with Adrian Heath. Including interim coaches, its the 11th coaching change since the season began. NYRB-Struber and CHI-Hendrickson (5/8, mutual agreement) MIA-Neville (6/1, fired) TOR-Bradley (6/26, fired) MIA- Morales (6/28, end of interim period) POR-Savarese (8/21, fired) COL- Fraser (9/5, fired) NE- Arena (9/9, resigned) and Williams (9/12, mutual agreement) TOR-Dunfield (9/30, end of interim period) MIN-Heath (10/6, fired) add the four offseason changes before the 2023 season began: CBS- Porter (10/8/22, fired) HOU- Bundy (11/8/22, end of interim period) MTL- Nancy (12/6/22, signed with CBS) SJ- Covelo (1/3, end of interim period) 15 coaching changes by 12 teams in a year seems awfully high.
  6. And apparently these were leaked and since removed from the AFL website today. (Chicago Rush, Louisiana VooDoo, and Philadelphia Soul)
  7. AFL originally announced , what 16 teams? Several more have now joined. Are they trying to be the ABA200 of indoor football? Also the fact that the league isnt even on Our Sports Central yet, tells me how much of a professional league this is.
  8. As much as id love to see this the current San Diego Sockers would need to sell their name to them
  9. I never know which one trys to make the game more about them than the other. Chris Penso or Ted Unkel? Either way tonight was another horrible game of refball. At least we already clinched the Supporters shield.
  10. “a source indicated that Lionel Messi sustained a 2 cm hamstring tear, confirmed via MRI, likely shutting him down for the remainder of the MLS season. The injury was picked up during Argentina’s WCQ match against Ecuador before being reaggravated against Toronto.” Via @CadDeLisa
  11. FC Cincinnati are Supporters Shield winners! MLS Cup runs through The Tickle (except for one game, thanks to the stupid new playoff format).
  12. Missed this earlier this month. The Toronto Rock of Hamilton, will now play the full upcoming season in Hamilton at First Ontario Centre. The team was originally scheduled to start the season in Hamilton before shifting games to Mississauga for arena renovations. First Ontario Centre renovations are now being delayed and the Rock will now play all of next season in Mississauga. At this point they either need to just stay in the Toronto area or rebrand to the Ontario Rock https://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/toronto-rock-will-play-upcoming-season-in-hamilton-start-to-finish/n-6013752
  13. Texas Southern might as well join in. Seems everybody wants to be the Oilers these days.
  14. Houston Dynamo are your US Open Cup Champions. They already clinced at Champions Cup spot by virtue of Miami winning the Leagues Cup
  15. Its a bit minimalistic. Right now the logo looks like its for Seattle, but for what in Seattle? It could be for anything in Seattle. I think add the wordmark below the crest and it would be better. Otherwise its a much better rebrand than the previous MLS rebrands. I love the secondary logos. I can understand that many wanted the orca in the primary. A majority of fans grew up with the orca logo
  16. Again going on the seafoam color I mentioned, It looked like the Space Needle was covered in foam too.
  17. Hear me out...... San Diego FC can stand for San Diego Futbol Chargers........... Ill see myself out.
  18. Juding by the STH scarves earlier in the thread and this teaser video, im seeing some seafoam green.
  19. What a win for Cincinnati tonight! Amazing goals from Barreal, Boupendza and Acosta (coming after his contract extension), plus a clean sheet from Celentano. FCC is 3 points away from doing what many fans have thought was impossible after their first three seasons in MLS. A win in Toronto next Saturday and Cincinnati will collect their first MLS trophy, the Supporters Shield (Technically, if Orlando wins out and Cincinnati loses their final four games, we tie, but FCC holds the tiebreakers). We've come a long way from winning the Supporters Shield in the final season in USL in 2018, to three straight wooden spoons entering MLS.
  20. Didnt they have a hard time getting the stadium built in that location in the first place? Plus with a historic Earthquakes name, would they leave San Jose for San Francisco? Or could they move to Levis? They already play one game a year at Stanford and they've played a couple at Levis over the last couple years.
  21. MLS didnt mind abandoning the Bay Area when the Quakes went to Houston. Of course now they have a stadium in the Bay Area, however apparently it's already out of date so who knows.
  22. Apparently the less than 10 years old PayPal Park in San Jose is already out of date according to owner John Fisher, who is trying to move his Oakland Athletics to Las Vegas. Las Vegas has been on the MLS radar. Could Fisher bring the Earthquakes to Las Vegas too?
  23. They still have hope. Remember one of the Orioles owners wants to move them to Nashville
  24. So Brewers stadium issue is resolved. The Rays stadium issue is resolved, and the owners are gonna vote on the A's relocation after the season. It's been 84 years but I think we are finally getting somewhere.
  25. In 1965 at the new Astrodome, players complained of having issues seeing the ball and glare with the transparent roof, so they painted it, killing the grass and thus gave us astroturf. While the Rays wont have an issue with a dead playing surface, how are they gonna solve the glare issue?
