  1. Yeah your Tim Horton's league was great, I'd love to see a deeper concept from that
  2. That actually sounds awesome.
  3. I think I'm gonna go ahead and do this later this year
  4. I feel like with the Utah series, the location wouldn't be much of a problem. The Florida State League consists of teams basically from Tampa south. Northern teams like Jacksonville and Pensacola are in the far north, and they're in the Southern League, which makes more sense geographically. If you have teams in, say, the 8 most populous cities, mostly centered around SLC, then it woldn't be a bad thing.
  5. Feel free! I made this Tallahassee logo and had the same idea http://michael-danger.tumblr.com/post/101720149222/here-have-3-soccer-logos-ive-done-in-a-color
  6. So after 2003-04, Wimbledon FC moved from London to Milton-Keynes. It's super controversial and MK Dons are still hated today. But Wimbledon used the coat of arms from the burrough. I was on their wikipedia page and I saw a logo I haven't seen before. "After the club's relocation to Milton Keynes was confirmed in May 2002, the College of Armsinformed the club in August 2002 that its continued use of the Borough arms was "unlawful". A replacement, given the go-ahead on 12 April 2003, featured a stylised eagle's head – an element from the Wimbledon arms – drawn in navy blue and yellow outline, the yellow forming a rendering of the letters "MK" (for Milton Keynes).[27] Despite being officially adopted in April 2003, the logo's use was inconsistent: the club officially announced that it would be used "on all club kit, merchandise and literature from the start of [the 2003–04] season",[27] including on a new white away kit and on an amended version of the previous season's home outfit,[28] but both the home and away colours from 2002–03 were retained for the following year with the municipal arms still present. Moreover, the old crest re-appeared on official club statements towards the end of the 2003–04 season, making the status of the new badge somewhat ambiguous.[29][30]" I was gonna bump this thread a month ago with this same post, but since it's here I might as well show that. For reference, here is the MK Dons logo and the current AFC Wimbledon logo
  7. My friend pitched a series to me and I thought I'd pass it along. World Cup 2030 will be the 100th anniversary of the tournament. So how about someone make a series with uniforms for it but they're all throwbacks.
  8. I know a good designer doing that with a football World Cup, and there's the American Football Worldwide thread on page 2
  9. As you know, I do A LOT of series around here. But I have a lot of ideas on threads, that honestly, I don't think I'll ever get to. I normally tweet out ideas, but I feel like this can just be a good start for people who are fresh off projects, or people stuck on them. More than one person can do these series, I just don't think I'll ever get to them. I love Africa so much, but don't want to do another soccer series for a while. So I think it'd be cool to do a national team jersey for all 54 countries. Here's the thing, that sport would be hockey. Lots of unique striping and new logos would be really neat. I also love the Scotish soccer system. I have a football manager save and the league's have 12 teams and it feels really tight knit. I'd love someone to do that with Canada. Just a complete system, from the top with Toronto all the way down to cities like Missasuga and Moncton. Or how about making 11 soccer teams in New York City to match the 11 in London. A mix of neighborhoods and Burroughs would be neat. Just some ideas, feel free to claim or add to the list. This could be a great research if people go through and finish them. I also would love some competition pitches which could be done through the competition council.
  10. How about new Rays vs brick Astros? They played in 2008 I know at the Trop but the only pictures are a throwback game. There was what, 5 years overlap between them before rebrands? Pair that with interleague games and that's pretty rare. EDIT - I remembered a series in Houston in 2010
  11. I was thinking about Indycar, and how uninteresting it is anymore. I feel like too many of the courses are street circuits, and they keep creating gimmicks that cheapen the sport. I say rework the current chasis to handle both road courses and ovals. They would also need to put some limits on the number of drivers in a race and drivers on a team. I feel like this is too inconsistant, and top heavy. So here is my plans. 16 race season with half ovals and half road courses. 22 Full time drivers, no subs for races like the 500. The most drivers on a single team can be 3, except for the Indy 500, where teams can field an extra ride for the 33 car race.
  12. I was thinking about MLS expansion, NASL season, and Jurgen Klinsman and came up with a format the MLS could use when they expand to 24 teams. I really didn’t like the split season the NASL announced a few years ago. I felt like there’s too few of teams and the fact a team leading the standings 1/3rd through the season makes the playoffs. But the break is nice when there are European teams doing tours in the US and Canada, and you could fill that time with training matches and new signings. The MLS wont have pro/rel or one table anytime soon. So I suggest a 34 game season, with a month break for training, friendly matches, and international call ups. The season would be split into 17 games each, with games against each team in your conference, and 6 from the other. You'd play home/away against your conference and 3 home and 3 away interconference games eachhalf. The best 6 teams or whatever in each conference after 34 games would make the playoffs, lasting until November, and making an 11 month soccer calendar and making JK happy.
  13. Usually the teams in the finals have great defenses. Teams giving up 3 goals a game are typically weeded out.
  14. That's why the US was the best candidate to replace Qatar. We could literally host a tournament every summer on short notice and fill 60,000 seats. But we didn't bribe anyone, and we'll have to wait for 2026.
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Twins and Brewers play in the same division these uniforms threw back to?
  16. Hopefully the Columbia Blowfish name jumps from the Coastal Planes League
  17. So Bowl Season is upon us, and frankly, there are too many bowls. There is no reason for two 6-6 teams to play in a place like Montgomery, or the Bahamas. So heres my solution, trim the bowls to 30(plus the championship), each in a different city(minus the championship). the 60 teams that make it all have to win 7 games to be bowl eligable. The top 4 teams determined by the playoff committee play in the playoffs. The next 8 teams play in the other 4 rotating bowls on New Years Eve and New Years Day. The other 24 games happen before this, each spread out over the conferences. The power 5 conferences get 5 bowl games outside the playoff 6 bowls, the remaining conferences get 4, and the independents get 3. If the conference doesnt have enough 7 win teams, the left over 7 win teams fill the holes. I tried to keep the bowl game conferences based on bowl history, and geography. The Big 12 and ACC couldnt fill their spots, so they were allocated to 7 win Stanford, Houston, Texas St, and San Diego St. No team could play an in conference team, which is why Kansas St moved up a bowl. For the most part, the teams get better the later into the bowl season. The exception to this is the MAC champion playing the 5th SEC team, which is pretty self explainable.
  18. When it was first announced, I would've loved to see it go to Qatar just because they had new shiny stadium plans. But then all the curruption and stuff will be a huge black eye for the tournament before a game is even played. That being said, if it does get moved to another country, oh god please let it be the US. I want to go to a World Cup and that'd make it easier on everyone involved(just me) Also Toronto isn't hosting a women's World Cup game because of the Commonwealth Games. I was reading about it a few weeks ago on the Wikipedia page.
  19. I should be enshrined wearing a Rays hat
