  1. Speaking of which, I liked the old "auto-shrink" method of taking care of pictures larger than a certain size. You could click the image to get the full details if necessary, but you could also leave the image alone otherwise. What about, perhaps, making that "auto-shrink" size a little smaller so as to not clutter a thread (unless we're already there, of course)?
  2. Can we see who likes our posts? Kinda defeats the purpose otherwise.
  3. Never, ever dress like a flag. Maryland gets a pass, considering how much the state as a whole uses it in sports. Not to mention a fantastic flag.I like the idea behind Maryland's flag uniforms, but the asymmetry kills it. Put the yellow/black shoulders on the same side as the red/white half of the helmet and vice versa and it looks about 10x better. Put red/white and yellow/black--together on the helmet and shoulders--on both sides, and it looks about 100x better. As for the Eagles throwbacks? They're not bad for a one-off uniform each season.
  4. Not sure, as I haven't played Tecmo Bowl for a long time. However, in Tecmo Super Bowl, the Bills were blue and pink. Those actually look better than the actual jerseys. Now only if they could've forgot the leg wordmark too...
  5. I'd put them up for consideration if they had no front numbers. I'm with you under the "no front numbers" condition. I like the color scheme for the same way I like the idea of the Jaguars using more gold (with teal, of course): Teal and Gold (be it Metallic or Athletic) is a good, unique color scheme...I can't help but think what could've been with more gold and hem stripes.
  6. They'd be really cool if they were worn with the black pants. Exactly. So far, 4/4 Color Rush jerseys have been decent, and so far 4/4 of those decent, respectable alternate jerseys have been ruined by the insistance on monochrome. I'll take it a bit further concerning the Jags, but if there's any silv--well, gold--lining to the monochrome gold atrocities, it's that the Jaguars finally have gold pants and thus can justify wearing a 100% gold helmet.* Maybe someday, they'll combine gold helmets and pants with a teal jersey. *BTW, can the colored pants/socks be options after next week?
  7. While we're talking about the Broncos, I'll go ahead and say that while I prefer them being an orange-first team, they've never really looked right in pants not colored white--that goes back to the 1970s orange pants, too. That said, I wouldn't mind them going back to these--the least they should do is ditch the blue pants.* *Burning their current blue pants probably isn't that unpopular an opinion, but there aren't many teams that looked best in just 1 main pant color through multiple sets.
  8. And that is the very reason why Jazz fans (not to mention most people roaming these boards and making the decision-makers in the NBA) are against changing the name. It would be a revisionist nightmare of epic proportions. EDIT: Not to forget that the franchise is entering its 36th season of play in Salt Lake as opposed to its first 5 in New Orleans How is that revisionist? No one is suggesting they should pretend the Utah Jazz never existed, just that the name should be changed. Well, let's put it this way: With the Charlotte Hornets, v2.0 being seen as the NBA's Cleveland Deal, a theoretical return of the Jazz moniker to New Orleans with Utah renaming themselves, say, the Stars, would raise a lot more questions than what we have with the current situation, such as: What team did John Stockton, Karl Malone, Adrian Dantley, etc. play for, and who did Frank Layden and Jerry Sloan coach? What team did Larry H. Miller buy at the last minute to keep them from moving to Minnesota or Miami in the mid-1980s? Did Pete Maravich play for two separate teams, seeing as he was on the roster when the team moved and shortly thereafter? In short(er) form, would the history of the New Orleans Jazz, v2.0 be read by the league as: Beginnings in New Orleans, 1974-79; Utah era, 1979-2017 (for example); Return to New Orleans, 2017-present? What if this came up as a serious discussion with the Lakers/Dodgers/etc.? Would they give up their history, too? Granted, it's true that those who know better know that the Pelicans are the original Hornets and that the current Hornets were the Bobcats, and thus a renamed Utah Stars team would be the original Jazz, and that the new New Orleans Jazz is the original Hornets/Pelicans, but things like this are better left out of the league's revisionist hands. I'll echo OnWis97's sentiment: When you move your team, either change right off the bat or don't at all. Of all the things that came out of the Cleveland Deal, at least the name was changed upon relocation (even though it was forced.)
  9. And that is the very reason why Jazz fans (not to mention most people roaming these boards and making the decision-makers in the NBA) are against changing the name. It would be a revisionist nightmare of epic proportions. EDIT: Not to forget that the franchise is entering its 36th season of play in Salt Lake as opposed to its first 5 in New Orleans While I'm at it, I'll keep this thread on topic: I don't mind alternates in baseball during the playoffs every now and again, and as for the Astros...they need to own orange. I like their navy hat/orange jersey combo, but at home when wearing the traditional white tops, orange hats and undershirts is the way to go--the rest of the jersey, with its blue script, NOBs, and numbers and orange piping--balances out the colors perfectly. Also, I should not like the Rangers red cap with their regular home uniforms, but for some reason I don't mind them...I'm not sure why.
  10. I do as well, so long as they stay away from the black pants. When it's black-purple-white or black-white-white? One of my favorite looks in the league. I love the logos as well. I do as well, so long as they stay away from the black pants. When it's black-purple-white or black-white-white? One of my favorite looks in the league. I love the logos as well. I like the Ravens in black helmets, jerseys, pants, and socks. I'd like them more if they didn't have such crappy logos and numerals. I'd like the Ravens in all black, with a caveat: put stripes on the pants. I'd even like seeing them go with black/purple/black, maybe with the fat white stripe on the black pants: It'd be nice to see them put the original B-shield logo (or some variation of it), the original full-bodied bird, or use the 1996-98 unused raven's head logo on their helmets:* I've even toyed with the idea of using purple-flake helmets, not unlike the Jaguars did with teal flake from 2009-2012. *It's (probably) not going to happen, given the lawsuit that pushed them to change to their current look in the first place.
  11. Putting 2+2+2 together...does this make the Admiral the accused's father?!(?!?!?!) #StabbingKnife #PrepareForWar
  12. While I'm at it, here's Andris Biedrins in a Jazz uniform: During the 2013-14 season, he only played 6 games and netted 3 points.
  13. Late post (I know), but that's BYU's best (and probably only) shot at the Big XII. I don't see the other sports leaving the West Coast Conference as the WCC is one of the few NCAA conferences that don't play games on Sunday. While I'm sure they'd find a way to deal with it, it wouldn't surprise me that if the Big 12 brought in BYU, they'd try to pull in Boise State for a (relatively) nearby addition. Granted, the same can be said for Cincinnati and its proximity to West Virginia...
  14. I totally agree. In fact, I'll go further and say that there are too many teams whose colors are [blue, or in the the Bucks' case green] and red who don't use red enough. The Bucks' old red alternate had some beveling issues but I loved that it was red and still had that little bit of green, and I've also slowly grown on the Angels being a red team.
  15. Right, which is how Bud Selig and assorted dumb:censored:s went about switching the Astros into the AL and having constant interleague play just to placate the freaking Texas Rangers. They forced it upon the new Astros owner as part of the sale. We might see Quebec in the Pacific Division. So what's keeping the Coyotes from moving to Quebec?
  16. Looks like Barroway is out as Coyotes owner. We saw this coming, didn't we?
  17. I'm kinda surprised that you haven't changed the name of the thread again in the last couple of days with the events in Glendale and all. I'm normally not one to toot my own horn around here, but I did name the initial "Here We Go Again?" before it eventually morphed into the Winnipeg Jets Appreciation Thread. That said, I did love the changing titles and lines and Admiral's accompanying wit, though I'd imagine it becoming taxing. May I suggest if--and I stress IF--Admiral renames the thread, something along the lines of "Gather 'round Children, it's time to point and laugh at the Coyotes again?" However, does anyone think that the next Coyotes Vs. Glendale hearing (around June 29th or so) may conflict or affect with the NHL's schedule release?
  18. Wasn't that this thread? Yes. He originally started a new thread. I merged it with this one. As admiral pointed out the #1 prospect for next year's draft is from Arizona. And the Coyotes were pretty bad this season. The NHL won't let their pet project fail when they're one tanked season away from a homegrown fan they can parade around the continent promoting the idea that the Coyotes are Growing the Game. If Glendale does end the deal? The NHL will drag the case through the courts for as long as they can. Which would only end up costing the league even more money on this financial black hole of an organization. I still contend that the rumours about a team moving this summer are referring to the Panthers. And we now go live to Glendale, where the situation has quickly deteriorated: As for the league and Coyotes, the NHL may literally fight tooth and nail to keep the Coyotes in the Phoenix area before this is over. The league would put the Yotes in Page or Kingman (Las Vegas compromise LOL) if that meant keeping the Coyotes in-state.
  19. Not sure on Philly and Atlanta, but I'd swap Phoenix and Utah. The Suns have traditionally been grouped with the Pacific teams while the Jazz have historically been aligned with Denver and the Texas teams (plus Oklahoma City is there now). This got me thinking, though: What if the NBA were to expand to 32 teams while moving to an NFL-esque 8-division, 4-team alignment, though geographically aligned? Here's a possibility (*=expansion team): Western Conference Northwest Golden State Portland Sacramento Seattle* Pacific Las Vegas* LA Clippers LA Lakers Phoenix Midwest Denver Memphis Oklahoma City Utah Gulf Coast (or Southwest) Dallas Houston New Orleans San Antonio Eastern Conference Central Chicago Indiana Milwaukee Minnesota Great Lakes Cleveland Detroit Philadelphia Toronto Northeast Boston Brooklyn New York Washington Southeast Atlanta Charlotte Miami Orlando I don't think this happens if the league goes to 32 teams, and while I'm pretty content with the West, I'm not so sure where Philly or Washington (or Detroit and Indiana to a lesser extent) fit best in this situation. More likely, in the event of a 32-team NBA, we get 4 divisions of 8 teams apiece, which would work much better: Western Conference Pacific Golden State Las Vegas* LA Clippers LA Lakers Phoenix Portland Sacramento Seattle* Midwest Dallas Denver Houston Memphis New Orleans Oklahoma City San Antonio Utah Eastern Conference Great Lakes Chicago Cleveland Detroit Indiana Milwaukee Minnesota Philadelphia Toronto Atlantic Atlanta Boston Brooklyn Charlotte Miami New York Orlando Washington
  20. :censored:ing. REKT. But weren't the Coyotes home games faked? Shhhh...Gary Bettman doesn't want you to know that.
  21. In before a logo of a goat swinging a railroad tool (giant wrench?) in a yard is unveiled.
  22. While I (and most people here on the boards) normally loathe Brandiose for constantly using swinging mascots for logos, I like the idea of Teddy swinging a bat here. He's not swinging or holding in a bat-like pose, say a tree trunk or some other bat-shaped object (like a wrench, bone, asparagus, stick with a bindle, celery, etc., etc.); it's a bat. It's pretty straight forward, and surprisingly so. The downside is that there is perhaps 1 logo missing (unless they just go with Teddy's hat, which isn't a great idea) and the script doesn't stand out from other Brandiose scripts. EDIT: After looking at the uniforms in daylight, the color scheme is growing on me. I've always liked maroon/blue* color scheme. *Or similar.
