  1. I’m kind of surprised that using 0 and 00 aren’t being brought up, though I feel as though it’s only a matter of time before players can wear 0 and/or 00. My guess is that if/when wearing 0/00 is permitted, 0 gets use from the general K/P/QB crowd and 00 getting use from the OL/DL/LB/TE group. Also, is it me, or have any NFL TEs worn anything in the 90-99 range, or is that more of a college thing, if anything at all?
  2. Slightly off topic, but It still astounds me that the Charlotte/Carolina affiliation did not work out, given the proximity between the two clubs.
  3. I thought of that too—I’m OK with the Knights going with a Notre Dame effect or a more traditional gold finish. Just match it as best as you can with the shiny material on the jersey. And since I’m on the subject: I wished a handful more NHL/AHL/ECHL/Upper level college/junior/etc. hockey teams would apply football aesthetics to their helmets. Think along the lines of the University of Michigan’s helmets. It can’t be any worse than helmet ads, right?
  4. I'd honestly like to see them paired with the Reverse Retro jerseys. My biggest thing is the chrome effect--make those more of a traditional metallic flake sheen such as on a football helmet (to match the gold on their jerseys) and they're really onto something.
  5. I don't know if it quite fits here, but the Winnipeg Jets' (v2.0) overall identity has really grown on me. The logo seemed underwhelming when it first came out, but it, along with the home, road, and alternate sets, by and large was designed (intentional or not) with a certain level of staying power, which is especially ironic given how quickly everything was apparently put together.
  6. I know this topic (0, 00, and triple digit numbers) has come up more than few times, but it’s one I always seem to enjoy. I haven’t had the time to listen to the podcast yet, but I’ll continue to say it: the NFL and NHL really need to allow the use of 0 and 00; everyone else—NCAA Football now included—allows it. I can’t think of better-fitting numbers for a hockey goalie to wear. In the NFL, 0 can be for players in the 1-19 position group while 00 can be for any player in the 90-99 position group to wear. At least that’s what I’m thinking.
  7. Something very similar happened to Wichita—they built a AAA stadium and look to end up with a AA team.
  8. The search function has always kinda been lacking. I’d go to type in a given topic, but far less relevant results always seem to pop up first; I wouldn’t get to what I was looking for until at least the second or third pages. Anyways, can we cut down on the border ads in the mobile version? I. Get. One. Every. Single. Time. I. Change. A. Page.
  9. Between this and Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox (and subsequent rebrand to 20th Century Studios), who had the Fox name being completely wiped out from virtually all media? Not me.
  10. A great update overall; it’s one of the rare times Brandiose has got a redesign by and large right by showing restraint.
  11. Great idea, but are we sure that New Era would allow that, given the outsourcing to China they've done in early 2019, the attitude of said bear in China's government, and how many large companies dealing with China try to not provoke the ire of the government there? (Not trying to be facetious, but something at least worth asking IMO.)
  12. Calgary Flames at it again? Apparently the Stockton Heat could be moving to Colorado Springs soon.
  13. For what it’s worth, the Palm Spring arena groundbreaking set for tomorrow (18 Feb.) has been delayed due to “extenuating circumstances.” It probably means little, if anything, but IMO worth mentioning here.
  14. I’ve long thought that a Green/Orange color scheme fits a team named the Dragons almost perfectly. Swap out the Navy for green at home (and maybe use White or orange pants at home), and Seattle would be set.
  15. I always thought that that Black/Creamsicle/Red would be a good color scheme, maybe for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers if they wanted to go in a different direction.
  16. I’m quite surprised at the team to be moving would be San Antonio. Haven’t the Stockton Heat (well, their owners in the Calgary Flames) been silent on re-upping in Stockton?
  17. That’s a bummer for San Antonio. I was really thinking that Stockton was going to be the team to move, given their apparent arena issues.
  18. Color me surprised. Brandiose showing a rare case of restraint! The obscure references to Worcester (the Smiley Face Batter and the subtle heart in the W) aren't shoehorned in and are actually legitimate!
  19. I may not a betting man, nor do I have a farm, but if either of those were true, I would bet the deed to the farm on this. #EasyMoney
  20. I don’t have the technological wherewithal to pull it off, but someone REALLY needs to do a Brandiose logo and name randomizer picking from a selection in each category: grimace/smirk (grimasmirk?), ornate eyes, a cylindrical bat-shaped object, a creature/object to anthropomorphize, and an adjective.
  21. The colors are nice and fitting for a team based in Missoula (IIRC aside from Great Falls no Pioneer League team has worn green, and even then the Voyagers mostly use it as trim), but everything else checks off the list of Brandiose cliches. Large, jewel-like eyes? Check Comic book-like toothy smirk? Mascot that, at least on the surface, has no ties to the team name? Check. Plethora of logos? Check. City nickname word mark? Check.
  22. Me too, though their logos needed some work. I think an older Missoula team used the name Timberjacks…if they went with that I’d be cool with it.
  23. I don’t ever see it coming any closer to reality than this (especially with Portland and Las Vegas our there), but a few MLB fans in Utah have started the hashtag #MLBtoSLC and one local graphic designer made a quick mock-up of what the “Salt Lake Athletics” would look like: And for the fun of it, he also made a mock-up of the “Salt Lake A’zz.” His thoughts—and those who responded to him—are exactly as you would think: Again, I don’t ever see it happening, but fun to think about nonetheless.
