To be fair, the 60th anniversary is kind of a bland anniversary to celebrate. They were doing anniversary logos every 5 years starting with 35 until they skipped 55. I hope they skip them until they kit 75, but I'm sure in 2025 we'll get a 60th anniversary of being renamed the Astros patch,

Its technically been 60 years since their first game in 1962 so its not that egregious. However, it is confusing as its their 61st year/season. They have mismatched seasons/anniversaries along with franchise years and noting years of being just called the Astros with all of their past patches.

But thats the problem, Sugar Land is a Houston suburb. There is no way they could be so dumb to have two teams named the Astros in the same market, right?

I doubt they'll name them the Astros as having 2 Astros teams in the same metro area would get really confusing. But I suppose they could switch it to a space themed name. It seems like a very unnecessary change as Skeeters was a very good identity that fit both locally and with the quirky/silly names that many minor league clubs have.

The Houston Astros bought the Sugar Land Skeeters and made them their Triple A affiliate prior to the 2021 season. Now the Astros are completely re-branding the Sugar Land team.

BWT is no longer a sponsor for Aston Martin so the pink trim will be gone from their car.

I wouldnt consider the Astros as a western motif. It certainly is bland for a team that is representing a space theme and the plain star doesn't help when the team is playing in a state where almost every team features a star in some way. When they were red/black it was more western than space themed. Perhaps I have my local blinders on but when I see the navy and orange star with Astros I connect it with the heavier space themed looks of the past.

I'm guessing the Royals are I'm guessing its a powder blue alt.
