  1. Clearly you don't live in a straw house.
  2. Right but that's not my question. I'm asking why "Wolves" in particular has this groundswell of popularity, where that comes from, not why they want the name changed from 'Commanders' in the first place.
  3. Is there a history behind why people in Washington seem to want the name Wolves/Red Wolves so badly? If so, can someone explain? As a non fan of the team it just seems incredibly bland and minor league. "Washington Wolves" sounds like an EA create a team name chosen for alliteration. And while I'm aware "red wolves" are a real animal, specifying it in the team name just sounds like it is chosen to keep the prefix from "the team name prior to 'Football Team'," which is dumb idea and since they've moved away from that name they should move as far away as possible.
  4. I could get behind the Colts uniforms as alternates if they weren't heathered. I'm not a fan of the black helmet, but I think its passable as an alternate, BFBS as it is. The actual striping on the jerseys is fine. The heathering is absolutely horrible though. The looks like something my peewee football league would have given to one of the teams because they got a discount on the jerseys from the supplier. It looks both bad and cheap , and this is a multi-billion dollar sports team. Is it a reference to something? Is heather a particularly fashionable thing in Indiana, or is there some cultural association with it? I've never been or heard the expression "Indiana Nights" before so maybe I'm missing something.
  5. I think the throwbacks are great for what they are, throwbacks, but that's all they should be. The current Vikings look is isn't perfect, but I think its still good, and the best they've ever looked.
  6. I saw a very overweight man at The Butchart Gardens in Victoria, BC wearing a Boston Red Sox jersey and New York Yankees hat. I don't think that's even allowed.
  7. Interesting read. I was born in the 90s so barely remember it but a lot of this stuff does seem extremely familiar after reading about and seeing it again. I wonder what kind of permutations and misappropriations we'll see when 00's nostalgia starts rearing its head.
  8. This is like the polar opposite of an unpopular opinion. Those uniforms are beloved.
  9. Interesting, apparently a similar thing happened in Chilliwack where they also said they were happy and committed to the BCHL. Nanaimo is undergoing an effort to revitalize itself and make it more appealing, and there has been talk about putting another WHL team Up Island since they originally went back to Victoria. I guess the appeal of moving from Junior A to Major Junior wasn't enough of a leap to make it worthwhile, but you'd think they'd want to upgrade the city's only real arena eventually.
  10. I have a feeling that these new jerseys are going to be the type that are vitriolically argued about here but your average fan will barely notice they changed. We'll see.
  11. Poor Cranbrook. I guess this makes sense. Rumours were Aquilini, the Canucks owner wanted to buy the team and move it to Chilliwack, but was rebuffed as they were happy with the BCHL's Chilliwack Chiefs. This is good for balance as it adds another team to the US division in the dub and removes the only US team from the BCHL, which must have been a pain logistically. I hope they end up upgrading their logo though because the one they're using now is not great.
  12. As far as "worst uniforms to lift the cup" I think a lot of people are sleeping on this Yes it is associated with the best era in Capitals history, but its still not a good uniform imho.
  13. The Rangers 70s sweaters aren't even "bad", they're just a massive downgrade from their regular sets.
  14. Yeah, at least for next season. We'll see what happens when the switch to Fanatics takes over though. I've got both fingers crossed they won't listen to the screeching idiots haranguing about the skate. It’s the Canucks though so I don't think there will ever be an end to the rumors of them changing, unless they keep the same look for 50 or so. But I also don’t want the thread to get Canuck-jacked again. The logo for the tourney itself is pretty good. Especially when you compare it to Toronto’s recent all-star logo.
  15. The Canucks released the logo for the 2023 Penticton Young Stars Classic (prospect game for the Western Canadian teams). I think it's pretty good.
  16. The Edmonton one I am a big fan of, it looks great. The Seattle one is good but really feels more like a Mariners event logo. The Toronto one is one of the most generic things I’ve ever seen. If it didn’t say “Toronto All-Star game” and you told me it was the logo for a gas station in the Midwest or a fast casual restaurant chain in Florida I would totally believe you.
  17. Mate if anyone here needs therapy it’s you, you’re the only one going off the deep end about it.
  18. Good thing you put "/sarcasm" in there, the rest of us on this board aren't as smart as you and would never have been able to figure that out.
  19. Real ‘G’s move in silence like lasagna.
  20. On the topic of Johnny, I would like to see something in between the Reverse Retro and the (now) Abbotsford Johnny. Something not quite so dated in execution as the original but not so corporate vector graphic-y as the new one. Not as the main crest but it would be nice in secondary applications. That's an aside though. I'm not advocating the Canucks change their uniforms. Do I have issues with them? Yes. Do I think the Orca is a good logo? No. But overall its a beautiful look and its a bad idea to let the perfect be the enemy of the good. No more flip-flopping identities based on what the flavour of the month is.
  21. I don’t know what you’re talking about. Mr. Red is a photorealistic representation of the moustachioed, engorged-baseball-headed abominations prowling the streets of Cincinnati.
  22. But bro, think about how many clean AF, fire drips the team could swag out in.
  23. Yeah the whole 'new' team having immediate success definitely doesn't help. But its beyond that. The players, the fans, the way the team conducts its hockey ops, etc have made them a very dislikable team. And I was commenting less on that and more on how quickly it turned.
  24. I think people would cheer against Vegas regardless. I find it amazing how quickly the Knights changed from being the darling upstarts of the league to hated villains.
  25. What does quitting on Calgary have to do with marketability?
