  1. The Rams helmet will always be a classic, whatever iteration of the horn they use. The Commanders I don't hate. The colours are still great, and the logo is okay in the context of the helmet. Its not a good logo, but a big part of that has to do with how terrible the overall rebrand was. The Jets one just sucks. Yes the colour is nice, and from a distance you think "oh that will be a nice helmet", but whenever you take a closer look you realize how lame that logo is and what a waste of potential it is. Still I do appreciate the colour given how incredibly drab the former "hunter" green and white uniforms were.
  2. Forgetting all the Kyle memes, the Monster logo would be a fantastic sports logo, and I could actually see it working for a lot of teams. The Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Timberwolves, Memphis Grizzlies are some big 4 examples.
  3. One does have to question why the NBA would implement this. It would have to be exorbitantly expensive because otherwise this cuts into their bottom line of people buying multiple jerseys.
  4. And then they’ll apply this to the jerseys you buy where the NOB will be replaced by an ad you’re completely oblivious to.
  5. I was never a fan of the gunmetal look. It always felt like a cheap fashion jersey you’d find at a store like Champs where the aesthetic is about having “swag”. I like that they’re finally putting the Quarterback Club logo on the uniforms though.
  6. The digital ads certainly were distracting. Especially when you watched them switch in real time.
  7. I have never seen anywhere lean so hard into a persona as the city of Calgary trying with every ounce of it's power to be a caricature of Texas.
  8. Same. It also added more variety to the league having more orange as opposed to another royal blue team.
  9. Small things add up. It's really frustrating with a team like the Canucks because they've finally got the uniforms in a really good spot. Obviously the toilet seat collars suck and the font could be better (and the logo argument will never be resolved so I won't even broach it) but they've got a great design they can finally own. And they just can't help themselves by making inexplicable downgrades like removing the pants stripes for no reason.
  10. That was a joke, I didn't mean that literally. I meant they were incredibly lazy with their rebrand just half-assed with a name that was phonetically extremely close to their old one.
  11. Teams often use the prospect tourneys and camps as an opportunity to get rid of old equipment stock.
  12. Yeah it's definitely not good. Of course this is what happens when you half-ass your rebrand by picking a new name that allows you to keep "-DIANS" and save on printing.
  13. It's so stupid I like it. But that may have more to do with my disdain for the Leafs. Looking forward to the memes.
  14. I know this isn't really valid criticism, but the only word I have to describe this is "cringe".
  15. Never underestimate the Canucks ability to :censored: their uniforms up. I just hope this isn't a portent of further changes to the home and roads uniforms going forward.
  16. This is the first I’ve heard of that uniform getting dropped. I think it’s more likely that they’ve got a new supply of shells for that uniform in (hence the side manufacturers logo) and they’re putting them to use. I can’t see why the team would just inexplicably drop the pants stripe, but then again it is the Canucks and every time they make a positive uniform improvement they tend to screw up something else. Maybe they’re the shells for the reverse retros.
  17. I think these are the pants for the stick in rink alternate they released during the 50th anniversary season. Likely an oversight, (at least I hope). The real question is why there are no pants stripes for that uniform in the first place, but that uniform is a mess regardless. The one concern I have is why the company wordmark is now perpendicular and on the side instead of above the knee. Hopefully that's just the company branding changing and not indicative of further changes.
  18. The scuttlebutt is that the reason there is no new Canada kit is that Nike did not think there was a chance they qualified. I'm not saying that's true, but its an interesting theory.
  19. I’m not a Habs fan by any stretch, but seeing a blue and yellow ad patch on that red sweater seems almost blasphemous.
  20. The argument that it won't turn into Euro-league levels of advertising never made much sense to me, considering it was the same justification for why there wouldn't be ads on the uniforms at all.
