  1. I didn't think it was that absurd a look and it got more ridicule than it deserved. I just don't know why they felt the need to create special navy blue pants just for that alternate. Would've looked better with their regular slate blue pants to match the helmet.
  2. WOW. I never thought those actually existed. When I bought NFL Fever for the original xbox the Rams wore those pants in the game and it bothered me to no end because they never actually wore them in real life. I always just thought the game developers either botched it or they got an early draft of the new uniforms and the Rams changed their mind last minute. But I guess they actually did see the light of day. Huh. I hated them in game but they're pretty tame by today's horrible standards.
  3. The NHL will be better off as 32 teams. Did anyone object to the Browns/Texans expansion? (The Browns one seemed obvious since they were jacked) Well the NFL is somewhat diluted in terms of talent. There's 32 teams and like 12 of them have a good quarterback. How often do we see games like that 9-6 Lions-Rams game from a few years ago? Every week it feels like there's a game between two awful teams and it's terrible sloppy football. The NHL has a few struggling markets already. Adding two more would not be wise. Let's try to get 30 healthy locations before we go jumping into two new ones.* *as a new Seattle resident I would love for an NHL team to move here though.
  4. Now THAT is definitely an unpopular opinion. If the Sonics do come back it wouldn't surprise me to see them incorporate some bright green and blue.
  5. The first time I ever saw the stink in rink logo was on a throwback jersey in a hockey equipment store. I was 12 or 13 and I real life laughed out loud upon seeing it. I had to ask my dad what team the jersey was for. I had a "WHATTT!?!?!" moment because I only knew the flying skate (didn't notice it was a skate for probably five years) and orca Canucks. I couldn't believe a professional sports team used that as their logo. I still can't. I guess it's okay as a shoulder patch but as a primary logo it's a joke.
  6. EVERYTHING about it works? That is an unpopular opinion as I look at it and see nothing that works. - Overly aggressive mascot with anthropomorphic features - a maple leaf TATTOO! - inconsistent outlines. Everything on the bird is outlined with thick black strokes, and there's the T with nothing. - the T is awkward and an unattractive shape - this is a problem with that whole era of Blue Jays uniforms, but the thin blue lines inside the red T makes the colors vibrate and it doesn't look good - the head looks like it's being guillotined by the T. OR the bat looks like it's shooting through his neck - and it's so detailed that it's unintelligible from a distance, which makes it a terrible cap logo. If I didn't know better I'd think this was a picture of some low level minor league team. That was also the era of colored sleeves Blue Jays uniforms Honestly, the Graphite Jays/Black Jays were better than this era of Blue Jays baseball. It might work for let's say, the Tulsa Blue Jays minor league team, but at the major league level it was an embarrassment.
  7. OK, yes, this is the very definition of an unpopular opinion. I have a question about this logo, maybe someone can help me. What is that thing that forms the crossbar of the "A" supposed to be? At first I thought it was trying to be a halo, but that makes no sense... it's physically attached to the wing. So WTF is it? I never looked at it that closely, but I think it's a stylized flying baseball. I always just assumed it was a halo. Makes its use on the helmets and sleeves in Angels in the Endzone even worse
  8. The 1998 Diamondbacks identity was all over the place. On the road they wore black hats with teal bills and teal numbers, but their batting helmets were black with a purple bill. At home they wore the purple hats with the A logo most of the time, but the batting helmets were purple with the D snake logo. It's like they didn't know what they wanted their colors or their official primary logo to be. Actually I think they still don't know what logo they want to use.
  9. Well, at least you admitted that's an unpopular opinion.Something you never got around to doing with your pullover love. You think they're going to work how socks should be worn into a CBA? Seriously? I played baseball up through high school, and started playing softball in the summers a few years back. I hate stirrups, and I hate high socks. I wear baseball pants baggy, down to my ankles. Not so much for aesthetic purposes, but because that's what I think is most comfortable to play in. Same here. If I wear my pants to my shoes then I can push my socks down and they don't irritate my leg hair. There was a game in high school where the whole team wanted to wear their pants up as a sign of solidarity. I went 0 for 4 and made an error in the field. I was not happy with our pants decision.
  10. Back in the day it was because the die in colored socks would bleed into a players skin and was toxic so they wore white socks and stirrups to help that. Now there really is no need for them and I hated reading uni watch because of Paul lucus' boner for themI guess that's why the white socks are called sanitary socks.yes but after doing some research it turns out i was alittle bit wrong it was only thought that the die was a health risk, in actuality there was no health risk and they could have worn full colored socks if they had known.I'm aware of the history and reason behind the stirrup, but it evolved past it's usefulness and reached the height of ridiculousness in the 80's. It's a relic to a bygone era and they don't need to come back. "BUT STRIPES!!!!" You can put stripes on regular socks.
  11. I've said this before, but I think stirrups in baseball look stupid. They're a bygone relic from another time and I don't want them to come back. They looked especially bad in the 80's style with the thin stripe of color. I'm usually a traditionalist when it comes to sports aesthetics and I wore stirrups every year as a little leaguer, but I'm also about functionality and practicality. What is the point of that pencil thin piece of fabric and how does anyone think it looks better than a fullcolor sock?
  12. It just so happens that I have been to the Jackie Robinson game the last two years and it is really bothersome from the stands. First of all, visually it looks weird. Second of all, I can't identify every player on the Philadelphia Phillies or Pittsburgh Pirates simply based on how they look. Hell, it's early in the season so I'm still learning a few of the new guys on my own team. There's a better way to handle the Jackie Robinson tribute, but I don't think we're putting the toothpaste back in the tube at this point.
  13. and in 2006 his only year in the Reds' vested uniforms.
  14. Nah man, Fed as a Duck is way weirder (Same for Lupul and Kunitz LOL): Here's Lupul and Kunitz in Cincinnati Mighty Ducks unis I know Chris Kunitz is a decent player, but he's also been incredibly fortunate in his career. He's got a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Won a cup with the Ducks in 2007, got traded to the Penguins in 2009 and won a cup there. His chemistry with Crosby led to him being picked for Team Canada and he won a gold medal there. There's a lot of players as good as Kunitz who haven't fallen into the same kind of success. BTW, the Blue Jackets traded Francois Beauchemin to Anaheim for Federov. Beauchemin has been a solid presence for the Ducks (and Leafs and Ducks again) ever since. Federov scored 39 goals in 185 games as a Blue Jacket. Dougie Maclean had no patience in developing players and instead went after old names like Federov and Adam Foote. Guys he thought would sell tickets. Winning sells tickets, Doug.
  15. with Rick Nash coming back to Columbus for the first time tonight perfect time to mention this still looks odd
  16. Tim Thomas wore a lot of different pads and masks in his brief stint with the Panthers
  17. How come everyone doesn't know that the 'one helmet rule' was for last season only? I mean, really, everyone still assumes it exists. Where have you seen it written that it was only for last season?
  18. Speaking of the Warriors, I loved these. Used to play with the Warriors in NBA live 98 because of these uniforms. The logo of the shirtless man carrying a lightning bolt wasn't good, but I liked the uniforms.
  19. Gold would be better than the black they use in their alts. No doubt. Heck, they have gold in their logo. Either use that shade or lighten it up a bit and use it. You guys are talking about this as if they've never worn these
  20. I liked these uniforms from the Nagano Olympics. They're 16 years old, but they look modern even today. But my favorite Team USA hockey uniforms are from the Salt Lake games.
  21. I'm not and I'm not counting that as a knock against it. I'm saying that I've seen it in other colors and with other logos than the Buffaslug and I've never thought it looked good.
  22. I don't know. A lot of minor league and junior teams wore (and continue to wear) this template and even without the buffaslug ruining it it still just looked like a bad, trying too hard, modern football jersey worn over hockey equipment.
