The only uniform uglier than the Dallascowboys home uni belongs to the Commanders. Those BLACK ICEY!! alts are terrible. The FIRE EMOJIS!! helmet is the cherry on top.

I understand you don't like the pants issue with the Cowboys but you need to be realistic here. The Cowboys are nowhere near the bottom 5 of bad uniforms in the league  (or even in history) and any attempt to put them there reeks of being a contrarian for the sake of it.

I don't like the Cowboys mismatch myself but come on. It's a classic look and will be unless they pull a Browns and do some ill fated rebrand.

FWIW, the Colts one looks the best. It’s picking thorns off a rose bush, but Indy’s isn’t as heinous as the others.

You're right it's not heinous, it's complete garbage.

Okayyy... Well TVs are better now. They can drop the quazi-BFBS.

The Cowboys jersey stripes have been the same since 1964 after they moved from double stars. Don't mess with it, leave it there. This team doesn't need to screw around with their look unless it's for an alternate and even then their Color Rush helmet sucks.

This is what the Cowboys should look like, nothing more and nothing less. Just fix the blues and the silver and don't do anything else.

The existence of the black pants doesn't justify anything for the Saints. The Saints should burn both sets of solid-color pants.

Not justified? They had it before in the 80's and it was just fine.

I think the issue is that it doesn't have a gold stripe. There was a stripe on the pants in 1999 but they removed the pants for the next season, then brought it back in 2001 without the gold stripe.

  5. As a Native American I personally really liked the Commanders old uniforms and logo but I did not like the name.

I don't mind the Commanders name but the branding is awful. They really should have just kept the old uniforms and put the W on the helmet. That is all that really needed to be done.

Just look at this garbage. An otherwise great helmet is ruined by this goofy uniform.

Not against the rules, but owners should enforce a team's identity, not let players who won't be on the team in a few years dilute a team's identity just because they like all black uniforms or 'icy white ' insanity. The Lions with all white from the neck down looks like trash to me.

Players have been deciding what teams wear on the field for a long time. It's nothing new. MLB pitchers have been known to decide the uniform worn in games even. Player involvement in a look is just as important as anything I would say, you know the saying: Look good, feel good, play good. That's how it is for players and just fashion in general. If you look good, you feel good.

The only real issue here is consistent sock designs being a problem from player to player, the rest is clearly an evolution of the NFL uniform. You don't have to like it but this is what it's like now and quite honestly we should all get over it. It's all trends and it will stop when it stops. We've watched sports long enough to know that everything starts and stops over time. Cartoony logos? Teal? Black? etc. It all comes and goes.

Also suspensions for uniform violations is dumb. In fact, fining for uniforms is dumb too to be honest unless it's super egregious but even then, the fact the league once fined a guy for charity cleats is a joke. He wasn't doing anything wrong and it did upset the non-uniform football fans.

Their standard Orange helmet with that uniform would be $$$.

Except it's not what they wore with that uniform in 1946. This is a throwback not some random alternate uniform. I personally would have preferred if the helmet was more historically accurate and just a plain white helmet. It would have been very unique and old school as hell.

It still looked nice either way.

Did the Eagles just accidentally reveal they're wearing kelly green against the Jets on the road on 10/15? They'd already confirmed Week 7 vs MIA and Week 12 vs BUF...which left a 3rd possible date open, but I had just assumed they'd wear the black alts with green helmets

It says it's a countdown leading into the game. That means it's a party at Lincoln Financial Field themed around the throwbacks which will be worn the following week. They're not wearing it at the Meadowlands.

If anything, I bet the Eagles bust out the throwbacks on Christmas as a "gift" for the fans.

Fox was barely a network before the NFL. It was the old Metromedia stations agreeing on an expanded syndication package with a brand name. Amazing what football did for them and what losing football did to CBS.

EDIT: and another thing! How remarkable is it that the NFL on Fox theme has never changed in 30 years? The CBS and NBC themes have both been heavily rearranged (NBC twice since 2006 I think) but I don't think Fox has changed the main theme one note. Another mark for the Permanent '90s.

CBS suffered and now we have ABC just coasting on ESPN's name to even remain relevant. Not to mention NBC losing the NFL afternoon slate and the NBA was pretty bad too.

Fox is the best network for football and you can't tell me otherwise.

  10. The upcoming NBA season is going to have some interesting new broadcasts due to Bally Sports' tomfoolery. So far it seems like the Suns games will be on a local network known as Arizona's Family Sports, the Utah Jazz will return to KJZZ and the Wizards will air on a rebranded NBC Sports now known as Monumental Sports Network. I am very intrigued by the return of the unique local flavor of sports broadcasting, something that was sorely missed over the last 15 years.

I'm assuming the same stuff will occur with MLB next season as Bally Sports' issues came up in the middle of the season, giving MLB and the teams no time to get something going.

  11. I believe the reason white socks are so preferred now is because they aren't actual socks, they are actually just compression leggings which have notoriously become a big deal in Basketball for the last 10 years. It's a performance thing and a "cool factor" too.

It's not cloth socks anymore most of the time, when you see all white or the "leotard look" it's compression leggings. That's why it's blowing up and all over the league. I don't know what the NFL's sock rule even is because since it's not a sock, wouldn't that be a violation? I don't even know.

The NFL has one of two things they should do, they can mandate cloth socks and ban compression leggings OR teams can start making colored compression leggings that way everybody is happy. If you ask me the latter is the best option.

I feel like at this point the Patriots are doing throwbacks to when Tom Brady wore throwbacks more than to when the actual team wore this and was bad. Seeing these jerseys has me thinking about all the games I watched the Patriots dominate in when they were throwing back to teams that were bad.

You know, two of the craziest Patriots games ever came in throwbacks in the 2009 season. Week 5 OT loss to the Broncos and a 59-0 blowout in Week 6 against the Titans in the snow.
