MLB Stadium Saga: Oakland/Tampa Bay/Southside
WestCoastBias replied to So_Fla's topic in Sports In General
Just observations from looking at Google Maps and images of the ballparks. For Charlotte, it's built within a small city block and sits right up against the street. There's no room for any expansion in foul territory. For Nashville it's a similar problem. Homeplate sits right up against the street, no room for an upper deck. They could shift the field towards the outfield as there looks to be a lot of space out there but that'd basically be building a whole new ballpark.- 3,890 replies

Looks great! Air Force has the best uniforms out of the three service academies, Army is a close second but their number font knocks them down. Navy is third.- 519 replies

MLB Stadium Saga: Oakland/Tampa Bay/Southside

If MLB ends up in Las Vegas, Nashville, or even Charlotte (expansion or relocation) what happens to the three minor league stadiums that are already there? All three are very nice ballparks and are pretty new with Charlotte being the oldest opening in 2014. Nashville and Charlotte's are both downtown where MLB would want their ballparks but it doesn't seem possible to expand them to MLB capacities. Meanwhile, the Vegas stadium is out in the suburbs but MLB would want a stadium probably right off the strip. MLS won't want converted minor league baseball stadiums either.- 3,890 replies

Is Colorado the only school still using the Flywire collar? How have they not updated that yet?

I miss when Rice had the Old English on the front of the jersey, such a unique font for a football uniform. Great concept though.- 519 replies

Didn't notice that at first, that's very strange.

As a Sprite Zero addict, I'll miss the white label. I like the new clear bottles though, looks good.

Underreported Uniform Details
WestCoastBias replied to johnnysama's topic in Sports Logo General Discussion
Stanford's switch from red facemasks and non outlined numbers to white facemasks and black outlined numbers always bothered me. Such a small change was a huge downgrade and there was no real reasoning or explanation behind it. Before: After: -
I kind of feel that way too. I think because UCF does it every year it seems like there are more space uniforms than there really are. A orange and green Citronaut throwback one year would be good for UCF to keep the space uniforms from getting boring.

I agree, the silver & black is way better than the purple & gold.

The Smokey Gray uniforms were just alright, way better than the black uniforms though. The real star was the helmets...

That's what happens when the generation that grew up with the Wizards wearing Blue & Gold has become adults now.

I'm honestly more surprised that Stockton has USL W League team lol Stockton Cargo fits with the Single A Stockton Ports name so I guess it makes sense. I would have gone with something that tied in with the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta though, Stockton Delta or something like that with a triangular badge.

This is probably the only time the Adidas tin foil numbers actually make sense and look good. Very solid alt for UW and way better than anything black.
